Introduction
The modern world as we see wouldn't exist without us. From the most common appliances and gadgets to the more complicated machineries and systems which kept the whole world revolving. With our absence it wouldn't be any surprise if the current technology would still comprise of tools made of stone and wood. We we’re that important according to a certain someone who taught me everything I know.
The Field of Medicine which focused solely on regenerative technology, cultivating lab grown tissues and organs from individual cells recovered from the patient's body. And of course the ever so controversial research on antiviral medicine for notorious strains of viruses like the Human Immunodeficiency virus.
Developing hybrid crops by engineering the genotype of a plant sample, effectively enhancing the resilience and rate of growth. Consequently yielding more profits and providing a whole lot more nutrients for those who are in need.
Extremely durable alloys and conductors made from unlikely materials that we wouldn't consider useful. Developing them further until they’re standards were satisfied, the field of industrial research.
And lastly the most profitable of them all, warfare technology. Funded by the most powerful countries in the world, researchers would go through thick and thin in order to develop the most deadly and the most destructive creations of mankind. Be it automatic rifles for the infantry or weapons of mass destruction capable of reducing a nation into dust with only the push of a button. Nothing would stop them since achieving with the creation of a single approvable one would give them the freedom pass, making it possible for them to pack up their luggage full of money and leave this stressing place be.
But was it really that simple? One would undoubtedly ask.
From learning the basics up until the formulation of a new theory, the journey of a human pursuing such a career would surely be bumpy. A road full of rugged rocks and ditches that impedes the smooth trip from the starting point up to the finish line. Years after years, one could remain stuck in the middle of the journey while others couldn’t even leave the starting line.

People might think that our lives were quite dull, our daily schedules only consisting of mealtimes, bedtimes and time allocated for testing prototypes.
Nevertheless, entering this institution was a blessing among all blessings. For I who was always fascinated by the unknown, being a member of the major league would surely satisfy my greatest desires.
The unending days of coming up with an outrageous but hypothetical idea, confirming the possibilities theoretically and implementing them in real life models for further testing. Such peaceful days I would trade anything for it to continue forever.
But nothing was permanent, everything would always be subjected to change. And this change wasn't a common one, for it greatly altered how I viewed things.

Musings of a Hypocrite
Mortals are weird. They insisted in unity, as well as individualism. More often than not, they're shocked at truth and honesty, but not at falsehood and deceit. They asked questions with multiple answers, and provided answers that begged other questions. They made things to break, they destroyed things to study, they researched things to recreate. Humans, Elves, Beastmen. All of them. Within these contradictions, a miracle might manifest. But this tended to work with a trial and error methodology. Most mortals never got the happy ending. This diary is my journey alongside a few students of mine. In simple terms - they learn, they grow, they fight. They'll journey through centuries of conflict, from the physical to the educational. They'll experience the cruelty and benelovence of all living-kind. They'll experience the consequences of their choices and the blessings of their rewards. They will grow to become useful to me, or die trying like all the others. As for you? The god reading our lives like a book, sitting in your chair without a care in the world? I will show you, the farce that is known as 'God'.

Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com!
