《Celestial Chance》Chapter 14 - VIP Client

The cloaked figures were all speechless. If they were still in control of the situation, then the sudden fight between Weasley's shadow demon and Ron wouldn't have been an issue!
Yet, now that this matter alerted headquarters, they wanted to intervene and stop it from getting bigger!
Unfortunately, many of the security devices on the floor were wiped out the moment the shadow demon started attacking. So their view of the situation was constrained.
When they tried to send personnel to the 270th floor, the cloaked figures were shocked to see that the entire floor had already been restricted! Furthermore, whoever restricted it was definitely in a far higher position than them since they couldn't rescind the restriction.
By the time the restriction was lifted, a lot of personnel were notified to clean-up the aftermath.
The concealed figures sent out some of their own people to mix in with the aftermath-cleaning personnel. Fortunately, many of their lackeys were official employees at the auction house. These people had miniscule body cams that the concealed figures had access to.
As they saw the outcome on the floor, all the concealed figures sighed in helplessness.
"Hey. Your grandson is gone now." The female elder casually said.
"Yeah." The male elder was emotionless.
"The priceless shadow demon contract is gone too." The female elder said.
"Right." His voice still lacked depth.
"What now?" The female elder's tone sounded really annoyed.
"..."
Nobody else in the concealed room said anything.
The male elder casually took out a tiny platinum dice from one of his pockets. He silently stared at the dice while slowly playing around with it in his hands.
"..Isn't that a dimensional dice?" The female elder saw this scene and quickly realized what it was. Small dice like these were normally very rare artifacts! This artifact in particular could teleport the user to a pre-set location.
Suddenly, the male elder activated the dice and he disappeared from the room!
"..F*ck this old coot!" The female elder realized what was happening and took out a small device of her own. The other two cloaked figures were very confused.
At that same moment, a gallantly armored dimensional beast broke through the doors of the concealed room!
The dimensional rhinoceros didn't give anyone a chance to react and suddenly emitted several blasts of dimensional energy!
The female elder activated her device and disappeared as well! Her escape was less than a second before the energy attack reached the table where the figures were all sitting at.
The other two cloaked figures weren't so lucky. Not only did this energy attack break all their defenses, it also blocked them from teleporting away!
The energy formed into tiny chains and the two of them were quickly restrained. They did not even get the chance to retaliate!
A squad of platinum-armored guards appeared behind the beast. They were wearing platinum armor engraved with the Clover Clan's symbol.
"You are under arrest for violating the Clan Laws!" The leader of the guards walked forward. His voice was emotionless.
One of the platinum guards took out a communication device and sent out a short report.
[Two figures have been apprehended. We detected two teleportation anomalies and assume two other figures have escaped. HQ has been notified and search parties are being sent out.]

On the highest floor of the Clover Auction House, which was floor 350, Alfred was reading the report sent to him with a frown.
'Two escaped?' Alfred was very disappointed by this result. He even sent out his own dimensional beast to help the guards with the apprehension. The result was not to his satisfaction at all!
Ron was sitting on a coach across from Alfred's seat and noticed the frown on his face.
"Did something occur?" Ron asked with concern.
"Haha. Just a clan matter." Alfred tried to push the matter aside. Even though he trusted Ron, it wasn't appropriate to talk about these matters in front of others. Darwin's children were sitting next to Ron. Whereas, Erin and Alice were seated near the group as well.
"Now then, back to the matter at hand." Alfred clapped his hands together in glee.
"What did you want to trade your Ancient Cyber Credits for?" Alfred glanced down at both of Darwin's children. He knew that these two were the ones who owned the crests.
Ron believed that Alfred wouldn't dare cheat Darwin's children; so he didn't intervene.
"..Dimensional Platinum?" Olivia casually answered. She remembered that's what Ron insisted on earlier. Edward nodded in agreement.
"Oh?" Alfred was surprised. He did not understand why these two children would need such a specific precious resource.
"That's not a problem. If we were to convert it to normal standards, it would be one ingot of Dimensional Platinum for every eleven hundred ancient credits." Alfred informed the two of them. "However, the demand between the two are truly not comparable at all. Therefore, I'm willing to use my status and offer you two ingots for every thousand."
Ron was bewildered by Alfred's generosity. He only anticipated one ingot per thousand at best.
Alfred wasn't telling the whole truth since Dimensional Platinum was considered an extremely precious resource amongst other precious resources. He was probably compensating for the incident earlier.
Olivia and Edward instantly glanced at Ron after hearing Alfred's offer. Seeing Ron's pleasantly surprised face, the two children quickly agreed knowing that the deal was very favorable for them!
Although they were excited, they actually had no idea what they were going to do with this Dimensional Platinum!
'Can I trade some of it for a starship?' Olivia thought to herself.
'Can I use some of it to hire a five-star chef?' Edward pondered.
Once the deal was sealed, the children sent over all of their ancient credits. Since the beginning, they planned on converting all of it.
Alfred took out a metallic card and mentally engraved the contract on it. He handed it over to the children who then handed it over for Ron to handle.
Ron knew that they had to stop by the auction house's treasury later in order to acquire their platinum. It was so precious that the auction house couldn't even let their staff transport the platinum to their room. Ron and the group had to personally get it from the treasury staff themselves.
Once that was finished, Alfred glanced over at Erin and Alice.
"Did either of you two have any business you wanted to complete here?" Alfred asked with an honest smile.
While Alice shook her head and said no, Erin nodded delightfully and took out his orb.

"Yes, I would like to exchange my own credits." Erin was relieved. He could finally get money that can be used safely!
When Alfred heard the term 'credits', his eyebrows raised with interest. There was currently only one currency in the universe that was referred to with the name credits. It was the currency he just traded for with Darwin's two children!
Erin activated his orb and quietly adjusted its settings with his mind.
Once the settings were completed, the orb floated up and started projecting its currency display.
[Available Cyber Currencies]
[290,086,500 Lafite]
The sight of this stunned Alfred so much that he actually lost control of his power for a moment!
The seat under Alfred couldn't handle this power and disintegrated into dust.
Although Edward and Olivia were confused by the sight, Ron gave them a knowing glance and they knew not to say anything.
Alice was absolutely bewildered. She wanted to say something but the words couldn't even come out of her mouth.
Since his chair turned to dust, Alfred was sitting flat on the ground. He was too stunned to stand up and shakily pointed at the display with a dumbfounded expression.
"..Did you want to exchange...all of that?" He enunciated each word so clearly that you could hear the raw emotions in his voice.
"Yes, please." Erin didn't hide the excitement in his voice. Because of what happened in the dining hall earlier, he wasn't even that surprised by Alfred's reaction.
Fortunately, Erin followed Ron's instructions. This was only 10% of his actual balance. If Alfred knew this, perhaps his reaction might have very well disintegrated the entire floor instead of just his chair.
"Hahahaha." Alfred broke out into laughter.
Alfred thought about Erin's identity and realized that he might have still underestimated the young man. Aside from the backing of both the Imperial Academy and the Dawn Family, Alfred was now under the misconception that Erin was potentially a heir-level candidate to the Dawn Household!
There was simply no other logical explanation in his mind. Ancient Cyber Credits were only regularly used in Ancient Families. It was to a point where, in order to trade for items with these Ancient Families, they only accepted the ancient credits as currency! That's why these Ancient Families fight for any large amounts of ancient credits that appear outside their own territories.
Even the Clover Clan, with it's massive wealth and influence, was barely at the cusp of becoming an Ancient Family!
If Alfred completed at least a third of this transaction, it would be enough to upgrade the Clover Clan to an entry-level Ancient Family! This was very significant!
The last time the clan had such an opportunity was around a thousand years ago. Unfortunately, they failed because too many powerful factions knew about the news. They could only facilitate the auction lest they offended too many people.
Ron smiled at Alfred's reaction. He knew from the very beginning that 10% of Erin's wealth would be the sweet spot. The Clover Clan would likely do everything in their power to make sure that Erin would leave satisfied so long as he was willing to trade in all of those ancient credits.
Even if Erin didn't trade it all in, now that they were aware of it, the Clover Clan's bottom-line would still be about a third of his displayed amount. Furthermore, with Alfred's status, Ron knew that nobody would try and cheat Erin during this transaction.
If the cloaked figures knew about this transaction, they would probably be puking blood in regret! The Clover Clan will likely hunt them to the ends of the universe to prevent potential problems.
'To avoid issues, I suggest you trade all of it in. This news cannot be hidden and will eventually shock countless people. It would be best for you to look like you have no ancient credits left.' Ron sent a mental message to Erin.
Normally, the currency displayed on identification crests cannot be adjusted.
This was a standard universal fact. If anything, the currencies can only be selectively hidden. This was what Ron did earlier when he displayed Lafite as the only currency when he was showing the two crests to Weasley. The third-generation currencies were hidden since they were not relevant.
However, hiding currencies was an all-or-nothing option. Either you didn't show any at all or you display all of it.
It's just that Ron was well-aware that Erin's orb had special functions.
Ancient orbs were extremely rare identification items in the current age. One of their uses could selectively display any amount the user wanted to show so long as the orb actually contained that amount of the currency.
Thus, for example, if an orb had 200, it could display any number at or below 200. It could not fake nonexistent currency and display an amount above 200.
Very few people know about this fact because orb users only came from the Imperial Academy! The academy never allowed any secrets regarding the orb to spread.
Ron only knew about this function because he had an orb himself! He had kept it hidden for a long time waiting for Erin to notice.
After seeing Erin's young age earlier during his introduction with Alfred, Ron realized that Erin must have been new to the academy. Aside from identity, the Imperial Academy never explained all of the orb's uses. It was up to the student to find out himself unless a senior student guided them.
If Erin wasn't new, then he would be aware that the orb could be used to detect other orb users.
Fortunately, Ron knew he had plenty of time to teach Erin these things later.
In any case, the Clover Clan did not have to disclose the process of their trades. A lot of normal people would probably assume Erin was lucky and traded in an unbound device.
Even if some powerful people discovered the truth, they would hesitate to act unless they were certain they could handle the backlash.
With some digging, factions could easily determine Erin's dual background.
An Ancient Family and an Imperial Academy student! It was like two heavy shields that complemented each other.
"Ahem." Alfred stood up from the ground and tried to calm himself. His entire body was shivering in excitement!
"As a High Council Elder of the Clover Clan, I will do everything in my power to guarantee you an excellent offer!" Alfred sounded like an actual elder this time.
"May I know what you desire?" Alfred wasn't aware that Erin simply wanted third-generation cyber currencies. Otherwise, Alfred would probably puke blood because of how basic Erin's desire was!

Home of Laplace
I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar mountain peak standing tall above me like seeing a skyscraper from the street. Soon the chilling burn of the snow that covered me began to invade my senses and I flung my torso upward, sitting up straight. I grabbed my head in confusion as my eyes surveyed the area around me: The corner of a mountain wall stood menacingly in front of me accompanied by thin, dangerous looking paths on either side. The likes of which only adrenaline-seeking psychopaths would use. I turned my head backwards and felt my heart drop as what looked like an infinitely long freefall met my gaze. I was sitting on the ledge of a snow-covered mountain. "CRKKKK" A heart-shaking croaking sounded from above me further up the mountain and I jolted backwards at the impossibly loud sound. 'Shit, wasn't there nothing behind me?' The sound of cracking stone accompanied the heart dropping sensation of descension. As I plunged down backwards, the last thing I saw was the deep-set brown eyes of that blue-skinned monstrosity further up the mountain. ----------------------------------------------------- Levi Laplace is a former genius biochemistry student that died a simple and laughable death on earth.
