《Not A Fairy Tale》Arc 3 - Chapter 24

I could just watch in awe. The entire thing was so large that even part of it barely fit into my field of view. And Grimlock had just casually dropped this thing on us. In all reality, it would barely hit our army, but the part of our army it would hit would simply cease to be.
"Not on our watch!" someone yelled, their voice echoing through the entire area or whatever this actually was.
Ten people, five from my part of the army and five from the other all jumped towards the steadily descending planet. I didn't see what exactly they were doing but I heard loud noises and screaming seconds before the planet began steering off course.
"Oh my," Grimlock said.
The way he said that I was sure that if he had a face there would be a smug grin on it. Grimlock raised one hand again and the blue flames in his otherwise empty eye sockets flared up, going past the top of his skull. The blue flames spread across his body, crawling along every bone and in between the gaps between bones, up to the tips of his finger bones where they all collided.
"[Galaxy in a box: Dead Planet]!" Grimlock said.
He didn't say it normally, it sounded like he had said it multiple times at the same moment. And seconds after I noticed that that had been the case. One came from above, one from the right, one from the front, one from the back and one from below. Five planets in total approached the group. On our commander's face, I could see shock.
"Now, let me ask again... What do you know about the host of Ira, Queen of Wrath?!" Grimlock asked loudly, enhancing his voice halfway through.
"I told you, we know nothing!" our commander responded.
This was a very bad situation, especially because I just now realized that we were quite literally standing on nothing. I didn't even know how and why we were still breathing. I had heard stories and all of them said that in the place far beyond the clouds, where the moons and the sun were, one couldn't breathe usually. But then I just figured that in this situation I just shouldn't question anything anymore. I looked at the soldier next to me. He was on the ground shaking and crying. If this had been my first encounter with one of the arch demon lords I'd have been in the same boat. But I had seen stuff and survived it. The might of the current demon king, the power of Happy Face and others... This seemed much easier to comprehend than the shit they were doing, so I just watched, trying to figure out anything. But even with ten high paladins, we stood no chance. The only way to even have a shot at survival would be to give him the information he seeks.

The bad thing is that we don't have that information until a few minutes ago we didn't even know that the demon rulers of sin had reincarnated into hosts...
"Tch..."
"Oh, is that really so?" Grimlock asked. "Maybe you're right, maybe you're lying. If you're lying this should loosen your tongue a little."
Grimlock closed his still raised hand into a bone fist, the five dead planets began moving faster towards that part of our army. The one from before was gone, it had disappeared as if it had never been there. Even with all ten of the high paladins working on keeping away the planets, two on each as far as I could see they didn't achieve much. Honestly, as far as I was aware we had already treaded into territory where the saints couldn't have done a thing when Grimlock brought us to this place, a place beyond the moon and beyond the sun. A place beyond the seven... a place beyond anything.
"Don't you dare fuck with me!" our commander yelled loudly.
His fist hit Grimlock's jaw. Instead of his jaw falling off I could see a soldier a few rows to my left twist in pain as blood gushed forth from the gaps in his helmet. A few people screamed, he wasn't one of them. He fell and his helmet rolled away from his head. His jaw was still inside the helmet, the rest of his head wasn't. I felt like throwing up, as a matter of fact, a lot of people did throw up at that moment.
I looked back to the commander. Grimlock now stood behind him with his bone hand on the commander's neck, his white fingers dug deep into it, so deep that I could see droplets of blood. He reached out with his other hand and made a gesture that looked like he was measuring the length of something with his thumb and pointer finger, then he moved them closer to each other and we actually all did move closer to the other part of the army, the part that was about to be squished by two planets. I could now also see that they were chained down by blue flames, unable to move even a singly muscle below their neck. Now even I was quivering a little and I could feel my knees weakening. Grimlock seemed to be able to fully control everything within this space, or at least partially.

"Now is your last chance, commander!" Grimlock said loudly.
I couldn't see our commander's face but I was quite sure that he was desperate.
"I'm telling you, we know nothing, I swear!" our commander pleaded. "We didn't even know that they had been reincarnated! Spare us, or at least give us a fair fight!"
"A fair fight? What do you think this is? A fucking playground? This is a battlefield, were not children anymore. A fair fight, you're gonna make me laugh!" Grimlock said, his speech pattern changing a little. "We're fucking demon lords! THERE AIN'T EVEN A SINGLE FUCKING SLITHER OF MERCY IN OUR VERY BEING!!!" Grimlock yelled, so loudly that anything that existed could probably hear him.
The Dead Sage, Grimlock then closed his bone hand once again and the planets sped up, crushing every single soldier in between them. The planets crumbled but none of the debris hit us, it seemed as if it were moving away from us. There was no blood, but we knew they were all dead, crushed by planets. Planets that had been summoned out of nowhere as if it were nothing.
"Now, did you remember?" Grimlock asked.
Our commander didn't answer. Instead, I saw mana burst forth from his body and I could suddenly feel wind all around us, in a place where there had been no wind before.
"I'll fucking kill you Grimlock!" our commander yelled.
His words filled some with hope, I could see that in their eyes but... to those of us that were more experienced it was just an empty threat and empty threat that was met with a loud crack and blood gushing out of our commander's neck. Grimlock had driven his fingers deep into our commander's neck, broken it and then ripped his head off.
"Yeah, yeah. I get it, they all say that, and then they die..." Grimlock said, sounding almost disappointed.
Everyone that was new fell to the ground.
"Why?!" a soldier next to me asked.
"Why? Because it's fun to bully the weak, fun... not satisfying, but fun," Grimlock responded, not even bothering to turn around.
What will happen now?
"Well, I should probably take out all of the trash," Grimlock said as he turned around. "Oh hey, I remember you, you were there when that high paladin ran away and shit his pants..." Grimlock said, pointing at me. "Tell me your name," he demanded.
"Galliard," I responded.
"Alright, Galliard, is it true what your commander said? Do you guys really not know where the host of the Queen of Wrath is?" he asked me, me personally.
I swallowed all the saliva I had in my mouth and stood firm.
"If the church knows it's above my rank;" I responded.
"And what rank would that be?" Grimlock asked.
"I-I'm a soldier with the special attack division," I responded.
I got a few looks from other soldiers. The special attack division was made up of people that were above that of your usual commander, taking orders directly from the saints themselves. And with that, they were obviously much stronger than even a high paladin... I had been assigned here by one of the saints, to observe...
"Then why didn't you do anything?" someone asked.
I chuckled.
"You really think I can do anything about him?" I asked, pointing at Grimlock. "That's a fucking monster-" I turned to Grimlock, "-insult intended-" then turned back, "-you really think I can kill that fucker?"
I got no answer.
"Well, now that is interesting. You know what, I changed my mind. I'll let the trash take itself out!" Grimlock announced sounding excited. "You will fight for the privilege of... well we'll get to that when we get to that," Grimlock said.
At first, nothing happened, but then Grimlock said something again.
"Well go on, get to the fighting!" he yelled.
That was the moment I heard the first war cry and the entire area turned into a battlefield, or rather a slaughterhouse. The last thing I heard before activating my magic mark was Grimlock saying something.
"My money's on the special attack division guy..."
