《After Life》Chapter 23.3: Blitzkrieg

Death’s laugh turns to a cold stare. Cole, Death, and Kid all refuse to move, stuck in a stand still. None of them wanting to kick off the surrounding gasoline filled crowd. You can almost hear the tumbleweeds and whistling in the distance. Finally the pieces are set. The bunker door loudly releases its hydraulics opening the door. Arch and Cake step out heading to the group.
Arch is wearing his standard brown robe. Cake however, has received some upgrades. On both sides he now supports two massive mounted laser guns. Even his legs have been upgraded with much thicker metal in order to support the massive extra weight. Though Cake’s movement is exceedingly slow, his arrival in this combat oriented format takes everyone’s attention, even Death’s.
Kid takes advantage of the distraction, firing a perfectly aimed shot at Death. This ignites the NGP. The crowd disperses not wanting to be anywhere near what’s going to happen next. Fights break out in every direction. The ogres rush to take down Kid but find many members of the NGP stand in their way. Kid is taken aback as his shot seemingly had no effect on him. His shots never miss. Death never once moved. He just kept staring at Cole with locked eyes. Kid fires off another round. Again, nothing.
Death calls to Cole, “You’ve ruined everything! Tell me why I shouldn’t kill you right now?”
“Pretending won’t work on me anymore. You and I both know you don’t want the demon coming here. I know you can’t kill me, or anyone here.” replies Cole.
Death lifts his hand activating a crystal filled ring. He shouts, his face squinting with anger, “There’s plenty of things worse than death! Eternal death! Eternal suffering! That’s what I have planned for you!”

Time to show him my true ability.
Cole activates his voice power commanding, “Stop. Stop this madness. Tell everyone the truth. Surrender.”
To Cole’s surprise, just like Kid’s shots, it has no effect on him.
Is he? An illusion?
Cole pulls out a handful of crystals out of his pocket. He finds the yellow orange, anti illusion crystal, squeezing it in his fist. Death's illusion fades away like a curtain being lifted. Cole discovers that Death is actually many meters away. More importantly he exposes Death as a skeleton creature to everyone at the NGP. He’s not all mighty and powerful. He’s a weak skeleton of bones and rot, only being held together by leaching the energy of others.
Death is infuriated by this exposure. He wails a psychotic scream, “How dare you!! I gave you that crystal and now you use it against me!”
Cole instantaneously ignites hurricane winds swirling around Death, but it doesn't touch him. Death has activated an impenetrable force field shell.
Just like with my bout with Shado, as long as I can keep him in the clutches of my wind I can feel where he is. He won’t have a chance to escape using an illusion. I won’t even have to use my eyes.
