The demon general charged straight towards the father and son duo while activating the special skill of his unique battle axe “Dark Oblivion”.

The skill got blocked by the kite shield that lord neils held!

“Don’t think that only you possess 2nd grade equipment here… my Mythrilkite shield is also top tier 2nd grade equipment… It can block any attack that you throw at me… Skullbash” the lord activated his shield’s equipment skill and pushed the demon general back with a great force giving René an opening to shoot.

“Rapid Snipe” René quickly activated his bow’s equipment skill and shot 13 mythril arrows at the demon king, with each of them being targeted at his different vital points.

“Crusaders, Plan B Now! Do it!” René yelled as he finished firing his last arrow.

“Unity” the crusaders activated their special group skill and started their incantation for an area of effect spell known as Holy light.

 “Blesseth us! Holy light” many crusaders yelled in unison as a brilliant golden light emanating from the sky fell on the earth and bathed everything in it.

Holy light was a mid tier spell used to cure illnesses or curses, buffing up the strength and boosting morale of the allies, but it also had a hidden effect that obliterated demons and the undead by purifying their aura. But, it was ineffective for high level demon soldiers or undead, and that was the place where the special skill unity kicked in… This special skill that was exclusive only to the crusaders and caused all of them to connect their minds creating a giant network of consciousness, to which everyone was openly connected, this giant network was maintained through the mana of everyone connected through that skill; everything including information, thoughts, mana and even skills or spells was shared with each and every crusader present on the battlefield for a short duration of time, making them invincible for the moment.

That skill also multiplied the effects of any skill or spell used by the crusaders, given that more than one person activated that skill, it didn’t matter whether the other people knew that skill or not because all the information regarding that skill was transferred to them in their minds, the skill multiplication depended upon the number of crusaders connected through that special skill; This gave the crusaders the destructive power that was required in a warrior to be at the vanguard of every battle.

The demon general yelled in pain as he got burned by the strong holy light! He wasn’t able to see anything in that blinding light so he started swinging his battle axe everywhere around the place.

*YAAH!*

Lord neils yelled as he swung his mithryl sword on the demon general and slashed him.

“Holy Slash” lord neils activated his sword’s equipment skill and unleashed a barrage of attacks.

The blinded demon general tried his best to parry the attacks that lord neils threw at him, but still got slashed and stabbed. He then tried protecting his vital spots, by assuming defensive stance and waiting for the crusader’s special skill to end, which soon happened as the holy light began to vanish, revealing that more enemies had joined the René Company and were about to launch an another series of multiple attacks.

“Dark recovery!” the demon general casted a spell to heal himself, as he was severely injured during his previous bout with lord neils.

“Holy Slash” lord neils activated his sword’s equipment skill again, hoping to deal a considerable amount of damage to the demon lord while was healing himself, but got parried this time.

“Now it’s my turn!” the demon general yelled at lord neils who stood in front of him.

“Dark Oblivion” “Hell Tornado” the demon general used both of his skill and spell at the same time creating a massive tornado of black flames.

*YAAAHHH! **BOOM**BOOM**BOOM*

His skills blew away all the incoming soldiers including lord neils.

“Father!” René screamed as he saw his father getting blown backwards by a huge tornado made up of black flames!

*THUD**SCREEECH**SLIDE*

“I’m fine son … just got a few little bruises on me…” lord neils spoke as he tried to stand up.

“It seems to me like you guys need some assistance… Let me help you!” a young man wearing a golden armor spoke softly as he came from behind.

“My name is Rigor and I am a paladin.” He smiled as he casted a heal spell on Lord neils.

“Let us help you too lord neils… we now have fully recovered.” The leader of the valkyries chimed in.

“Count me in too! I have some score to settle with him” a dark knight spoke, as he pointed the demon general while making his way out of the crowd and walking towards the lord who was getting healed.

“Okay let’s do It.” lord neils replied.

“Crusaders, we will provide support …” René yelled loudly.

*YES SIR!*

“Valkyries stand ground with the crusaders and assist us!” the captain of valkyries ordered.

*YES MAAM!*

“Arrgh…I too wanted to give orders to someone!” the young paladin complained.

“Just focus on the demon general for now… We don’t want to screw this chance!” the dark knight retorted to the young paladin’s complaint.

“Oooh, so all of you guys want to attack together…then bring it on!” the demon general challenged everyone.

“Unity” “Holy Light” the crusaders once again activated their special group skill and casted the spell, but this time it wasn’t much effective as the demon general was prepared for it.

“Rapid Snipe” René activated his bow’s equipment skill and shot some mythril arrows at the demon king to create an opening for everyone.

“Valhalla” the valkyries activated their skills causing a surge in morale and temporarily boosting everyone’s strength.

“Divine Judgment” the paladin casted his special spell, a black halo appeared on the head of the approaching demon general causing him to freeze, while a big bolt of thunder fell on him burning him intensely.

 “Holy Slash” lord neils activated his sword’s equipment skill and slashed the still immobilized demon general in many places.

“Shadow Gash” the dark knight yelled as he activated his most powerful skill and amputated the left arm of the demon general.

*AAAARGH*

The demon general yelled in pain as one of his arm fell on the ground.

“Shattering Hammer” the leader of the valkyries activated her hammer’s equipment skill and blew the demon general far away.

“This is what you get for messing with the people of the upperworld.” she spoke while she lifted her hammer in order to hit him again.

“Mass Delirium”

A voice of a lady echoed through the sky, causing each and every skill and spell to break.

 Everyone present on the battlefield got confused as all of their sense of judgment and rationality faded into oblivion.

“Just look at you… so pathetic!”

“Just leave me…alone” the demon general spoke as he tried to stand up.

“No… that can’t happen, after all I’ve come to rescue you… again!” Maya replied as she telekinetically lifted up the demon general and his fallen arm in the air.

“These people…they should be exterminated… now!” demon general spoke.

“HQ ordered us to retreat… not to fight!” Maya told the demon general, as she carried him telekinetically, while she flew.

“Also we’ve got to do something about this boy…” she winked while pointing out the demon general’s amputated arm.

“Ahhh! Why did you left me back there?” the demon general sighed as he asked her.

“Why? Because…it felt like it was fun!” Maya replied while looking forward.

Soon both of the demons disappeared in the oblivion, after some time the mass delirium spell broke, causing everyone to break out of their trance.

“What happened? Where is the demon general?” these were the only two questions that came from everyone’s mouth after they regained all of their sense and rationality.

 “Damn it seems like he fled in the end…” the dark knight replied.

“It was such a waste of effort!” René muttered.

“Yeah” The leader of the valkyries agreed.

“Now now … it’s not the time to get sad, all the countless sacrifices our fallen brothers made, all the misery and pain we suffered for 18 years... All of it has now come to an end; because in the end we persevered…we drove away the demons from our homeland… we defeated a demon general and forced him to flee… Be proud my heroes, be proud of yourselves!” lord neils proclaimed with an immense pride that could clearly be seen, shining inside his old eyes.

*YEAAAHHH! **UWOOOH! **WE WON! *
