《Vienna's Game》Chapter 12

When I woke up, I was in an empty white space with a little girl who had horns, scales on her cheeks, and a dragon tail in front of me. Wait… Why is there a little girl with horns, scales, and a dragon tail in front of me?!
“W-who are you?”
She stood in silence. She then graceful extended her hand in front of me. She stared at me without saying a word. I noticed that her eyes were moving from my face to my hands then back to my face. I extended my hand and grasp hers. Her hand was cold. She then helped me pick myself up as I stood up.
When I stood up, color was returning to my eyes. The little girl was short, her height was about the size of someone who was in their last year of elementary school. Her hair and eyes were a pale blue color, similar to the Comet Appraisal Stone. Her scales and tail were a similar color as well, but a bit darker.
She let go of my hand and stared into my eyes. I then felt a chill coming down my spine. When I looked at my arm there were goosebumps. I glanced back at her; my eyes widened as her eyes pierced deeper into my soul.
“W-who are you?”
“Who am I? I think you already know who I am”
Her voice was angelic, yet monotonous, as it echoed in on itself.
“Y-your voice… are you, God?”
She shook her head.
“I am merely a child created by God to watch over humans.”
A what now?
“S-so a child created by God to watch over humans? But I’m not a human.”
“Correct, you are just like me.”
“Just like you?”
“You were created by God to watch over the humans as well.”

“I-I don’t quite understand…”
I scratched the back of my head.
“You do not have to. Just know that God created you to watch over the humans.”
“B-but that doesn’t make sense.”
“Is it because you were reincarnated into this world?”
I took a step back as my eyes widened to her response.
“H-how did you know?”
“God has told me that she would be bringing people from another world to this one. She will be bringing over people to not only watch over humans but also everyone living here. Demons, monsters, Great Beasts, lesser beings, etc.”
“God… is a woman?”
“…”
“I suppose from your silence that you didn’t expect me to be surprised.”
“Why wouldn’t God be a woman, she did birth this world and its inhabitants after all.”
“I-I guess that makes sense. But… but what purpose does she seek bringing us to this world.”
“She seeks change in this world. This world has become stagnant after 1000 years. There must be change, there must be evolution, there must be an end to this stagnation.”
“Stagnation? But how can there be an end to this ‘stagnation?’”
“You’re a history teacher… tell me, Ms. Oshino… what forces change towards creatures like humans?”
“Uhh…”
“Here’s a hint, there were many of them throughout history and many of them had a short era named after them.”
“War?”
“Correct. Now tell me Ms. Oshino, when there is war, is there a stagnation?”
“I-I guess, but is there like a way to avoid war? I mean…”
“Do you want to protect your students?”
“My students?”
“Yes, your students, do you want to protect them?”
“D-did they get reincarnated in this world too.”
The little girl nodded her head.

“Your students have spread apart from this world and war will consume this world in a decade. Would you like to protect them?”
“I-I would like to protect them.”
The little girl smiled.
“That is what I thought you would say,” She said before turning around and staring into the empty sky that looked like space. “Your students what are they like?”
“My students?”
“Is it a sensitive topic?”
“N-no, not at all. My students well they are a mischievous bunch, but they are always happy to help each other.”
“I see.”
I looked down at the floor as I felt tears forming from my eyes.
“But now that I think about it… It always wasn’t like that.”
“What do you mean?”
“3 months ago, before the class and I got sent to this world, a girl in my class mysteriously disappeared. Many of us didn’t know why or how.”
“This girl… what was she like.”
“She was a sweet girl. She always tried to brighten everyone’s day and was also up early every morning trying to recruit people into the occult club.”
“I see… were there any clues to where she went?”
“Clues… None at all. She just magically disappeared one day. She was last seen in the club room before it all happened.”
“What was she doing in the club room.”
“I think she said something about reading a book made of the skin of dragons.”
“Where did she get this book from?”
“The book? I don’t know… From what I can remember, she said that the book appeared on her desk one day out of nowhere. I just assumed that it was someone in my class trying to mess with her like usual.”
“What a strange girl.”
“You could say that again… but then again, she was always the brightest one in class, and she shined past everyone’s in the entire school. If I could meet her now… I wish… I wish… I could thank her for being the embodiment as an end goal as a teacher.”
“…”
“…”
We stood in silence for several seconds. When I noticed her head moving downwards, I opened my mouth, but no words could come out. She then spoke.
“I think this girl you are talking about is doing fine right now.”
“Do you really think so?”
“I know so… a girl like her would be able to endure anything. Even if a god wanted her to die.”
“God would want her to die?”
“Oh… sorry, that was just nonsense on my part. Now let’s get back on topic.”

The Abyssal Dungeon
The world of Vol, a huge, bountiful plane where the only constant is life, in its many, many forms. One such form is a dungeon core, a peculiar little gemstone, and the focus of our attention. Watch as this otherwise unremarkable gem awakens in one of the most resplendant places in Vol, an aptly named Mana Reef, and how it turns its simple hole in the ocean floor into something truly unique, all while the rest of the world is forced to deal with its growth. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is my first venture into writing for fun, and I'm hoping to keep this running until I run out of juice. With that said, I very much enjoy dungeon core novels, and wanted to do one a bit outside the norm. Hope you enjoy! The Oscillation (No Swearing)
It was an average day in Miami—then fractures in the sky appeared. A pulse from those cracks altered the population; some people's biology changed while others received magical and supernatural powers. After the chaos, the political drama ensued, followed by the discovery of portals that brought deadly creatures. They called this event "The Oscillation" and it changed Rachel's life forever. Note: I've received some feedback that people don't like the foul language. This also included my mother, she wanted me to make a cleaner version for her. So, I thought I might as well release it alongside the more explicit version. I went back and rewrote the parts that have profanity in them. ^_^7 Cover Commissioned From Likesac ^_^7
