37 - Sudden Creepy Delusions
I learned the worst possible way that my actions may have unforeseen consequences. Sadly, consequences that may be contrary to my true intentions.
I made her do what she was not supposed to. She lost sight of what was safe and what was not, threw herself over the abyss that I created for her. She believed in me and now she is no more.
I'm sorry Lucy.
*
Lucyra was doing great, improving at lightning speeds. I kept 'forcing' her to continue, to go further, I truly believed she could. And because I believed, I made her believe too. I convinced her that going further was ok, that it was safe. I was the one that made her lose her care and break her promise to Mila. I made her reckless. I'm sorry. I exaggerated.
She was perfectly fine the way she was before. Already amazing enough.
I'm sorry.
During her last training, Briana succeeded and because of that we got just a tiny bit envious of her. We synced too hard on that feeling of wanting to succeed, we shared the will to be together with our sisters, so much that things got out of control. My suggestions hit too strong.
Lucy went too far, she recreated the external circuit inside her without the necessary care, too fast. She did it in a single hour. Obviously the creation was not stable, she did not have the fundamental knowledge to fix it nor to create it that fast. Her entire system collapsed in return. Her conscience was trapped inside her own body, powerless.
Maya and Bria tried to help when they noticed that something was amiss with Lucy. They dashed outside to call for help, at the fastest speed I had ever seen someone run. But they did not make it in time.
It's not that they took too long, they did not. Jade was apparently already rushing home. For she has some weird connection and can feel what happens inside the house. She was already on her way here. But things just happened too fast. No one was able to save Lucy. It was all my fault.
I'm sorry Lucy.
I don't really know how it happened, but her entire system collapsed with the creation of an unstable part. First it interfered with the main core, making the circulation go all wrong. Then the interference grew and hit the twin cores. One destabilized, then the other, it started to block part of the root system. The roots inflated and blocked other parts. From there on a domino effect took place until her ENTIRE system was destroyed beyond repair.
Lucyra had lost consciousness early in the process, she was not awake enough time to feel any pain, but enough to feel regret.
I'm sorry Lucy.
I felt regret with her. I wish I could take her place. It was all my fault. Had I not interfered with her core personality this would have never happened.
Jade arrived a single minute after Lucy's system began to collapse. But it was already too late. Briana and Mayara were close to me, looking worried at the unconscious body of their sister. I could even see a tear in their eyes. Lucy could not be saved and they knew it.

"Damn, damn… Lucyra… weren't you the careful type? Oh poor soul, let Mother have mercy on you." Jade looked regretful, but not actually sad.
Lucy was not dead, I was still linked to her. She was only unconscious at this point. But in a serious enough state that she would no longer wake up, forever. Her physical body could not sustain her soul.
She was dying. Before that happened a recycling needed to take place.
Jade retrieved her body from the training floor with care, different from any other time where she handles us like an object, this time she took Lucy's body with dignity and care. She took us outside to a nearby building that was a bit different from all the other houses. There, a woman of short hair was seated in a chair, peacefully reading a book.
"Welco… " she started speaking before looking up "Oh my, Jade… what happened to the child?"
"She forced a circle creation… when I got there it was already beyond repair. She ended up provoking the collapse of her own system."
"Oh poor soul. Hurry, take her to the altar, we should perform the recycling as soon as possible. The young should not suffer." No further questions were asked. The woman was not really worried about how that situation came to be, just on what needed to be done at the moment.
They headed to a back room, in the center Lucy's body was laid down on a cold stone altar. All Jade's students were present, having followed her out of the house without being asked to do so. A small scale ritual took place there.
"Let us sing for her"
All present sang together, the same song we learned weeks before during the sprout ritual. The same song we could hear in every single ritual. Few seconds after the ritual started the short haired woman was doing some weird gestures while singing, Lucy's body began to fade in existence. Transforming into pure mana and being absorbed by the roots that formed the floor.
It was a simple and fast ritual. Alexa confirmed her death.
I'll continue. I feel regret, deep regret about my actions and how it ended up killing Lucy, but I cannot abandon my mission. I must continue.
…
My vision went black, and stayed that way for a minute or two. I heard no voices, Alexa's notice did not come as expected. My view shifted from black to dark gray, then silver, white, green, blue, red, purple… All possible colors started to blink in my mind.
I'm dizzy. I don't know what is happening, this is the first time something like this ever happened to me. Lately things started to change, but the changes were gradual and small at first. I know I ended up killing Lucy, but that was an unforeseen circumstance.
The actual impact I can cause in the real world is small in its essence, I can only suggest things to my host. This? This is completely different. I feel my existence being shaken and analysed. Like someone is touching my soul, squeezing, turning, throwing, shaking…

After an unknown amount of time of this weird rainbow shake things finally stopped. The colors stabilized in a bright yellow, so light it was almost white. Maybe it was actually white?
A blue point surged right in the middle of my view, it grew wide, very fast it was occupying half of my view. It did not matter if I tried to turn my non-existing head, or close my figurative eyes. The view did not change.
The blue point shook, static noise appeared and it morphed. It started showing me several different scenes. Like a trailer I watched it all. I absorbed the most I could, but I'm not sure what any of this means.
The visions were not complete, sometimes it was fast, 2 seconds or just an image. Others lasted a bit longer. None was complete or had any meaning to me. Everything seemed random.
A white haired woman, that resembled Mother, finding a strange device. She took it and hid it somewhere away from prying eyes. The place itself did not show up, only fog appeared as the woman entered somewhere.
Giant plants growing. Forming a big forest that later dried up and dyed. An accelerated video that seemed to display hundreds of years worth of footage.
A big feline-like animal killing a human. It tore it apart then took it to it's cubs.
Another big feline, all black and blue protecting an indistinguishable humanoid figure from something. It failed, both protected and protector died to the pursuers.
A frog eating a fly on top of a waterfall. The fly was poisonous, the frog suffered a slow painful death. It was then eaten by a snake that suffered the same fate. A cycle of animals dying from a single poisonous fly were shown.
Werewolf people living a mundane life in a small village surrounded by green vegetation. Happy times, children running and playing. Adults farming, eating, talking.
Elfs casting simple magic, making a leaf float and summoning a small ball of fire on top of their hands.
Hooded humanoid creatures invading a city, I could not identify the residents of the said city, they appeared as blurred shadows. They destroyed the entire city, murdered all it's people.
A blonde woman with very long pointy ears throwing a dice in a board game, standing in front of her a giant man observed the rolling dice.
A disgusting scene where a woman was being raped by a male counterpart. The woman was able to free herself and later killed the man.
A board game surrounded by 3 humanoids, all from different races. One resembles a human but with four arms. Another had a cat ear showing, the other seemed like a normal human male.
War. A bloody war between cat-people and elfs. Uncountable deaths.
The same white skin with silver hair woman from the first scene talking to a humanoid with blue hair. Both looking into a blue screen full of graphs.
Elfs being captured and tortured.
Giant people being torn apart and burnt inside their homes. Children, women, old… all encountered death.
A humanoid figure taking care of children on top of a green mountain. Few animals around them.
A sleeping baby.
Forests growing in a vast land.
Children from different races playing together.
Children from different races killing each other.
War.
War.
More war.
War.
So many visions of different wars. Battles fought between races. Battles showing both sides from the same races. Battles displaying alliances and betrayals. So many wars. Countless battles.
As many bloody wars as it was shown to me, visions from happy times were too. Different people living a happy life, with animals, kids, plants. Peaceful times existed in the visions.
Many more scenes were shown. Time passed and visions were shown. I lost track of time. I lost track of myself. I have no idea if minutes or days passed. But it ended just like it started. Weird and colorful.
The blue circle in the center of my vision came back. It approached me and tried to touch me but was repelled by some static force. After it's failed action it shrunk and disappeared.
My vision started to blink in all rainbow colors again. Then it stabilized in the color black.
Alexa's voice woke me from the weird dream. I could hear singing voices again. I recognize those voices. I was back in the room where Lucy's recycle ritual was taking place.
What was that? It never happened before and it did not seem like it was only a dream or delusion. Why would I have a weird dream of things I never saw, races I never knew existed right now?
It makes zero sense. Things are getting weirder and weirder.
I'm still a bit dizzy after that. It was weird… what was that? Maybe it is a vision of things that happened in this world? Or another world? Perhaps facts that only happened in the imagination of someone? A simple delusion?
When did this weird thing start to happen? First I started to be able to interfere with reality, which I'm sure I was NOT supposed to do. Is something wrong with me? Now this… these visions…
Alexa couldn't care less about my predicament. My new host would be assigned to me whether I was ready or not. I was the one that chose to continue after all.
Another blink on my view, and when it came back, I was looking at the stone altar with Lucy's body halfway dissolved in mana particles.
I knew my new host would be one of them. Jade's entire team was present for the ceremony, it was obvious that I would be assigned to one of the girls present here, after all, they were unquestionably the closest candidates.
