《Love at First Theft》1. Steal the Ring

It was love at first sight. The ambiance was nearly perfect with subdued lighting hitting us and it felt like one of those cheesy romances where two strangers reach for the same thing in a store. Even without that atmosphere, I would have been enamored with her looks, which made her look like a model with her black hair tied up and eyes that seemed to change from grey, to blue, and to green whenever you look at it.
It was perfect... except for the fact that alarms would be blaring if I didn't do this quickly.
Ah, I kinda, sorta, forgot to mention that I was in the middle of a robbery of one of the most precious pieces of jewlery of all time: the Iridescent ring, which was quite fitting of its name. It was a diamond-cut opal that looked like a mini moon on a band of platinum that's been the pride of this museum for over half of a century. The reason why it felt like it was two strangers in a shop was because I have never seen this lady before in my life and both of our hands were on the ring.
They're touching!
I felt my face burning up. I knew I was blushing, but I couldn't help myself.
Oh yeah, the alarm, I thought. Even though the alarms, security cameras, and sensors were disabled for now and I knocked out the guards, their back-up system will probably be automatically used after a half-of-an-hour of their main system being turned off and it was going to be loud if it turns on. I had about a minute.
She looked suprised when we touched, but quickly regained her composure.
"Just take it and run. We'll talk later," she mouthed, making sure to enunciate clearly so I could understand her instructions. I nodded quickly in response and took the ring and shoved it in my pocket. We then bolted back to where I entered from, a window in the security room with two knocked out guards. I heard her light footsteps behind me and we bursted through the window and kept running until we were a considerable distance away from the museum and we were in a park. Many police cars shot passed us in the opposite direction that we were running in.

Ah, the alarm must've gone off.
I was gasping for breath because I wasn't used to running for this long, though she seemed fine. It was dark due to it being 2 o'clock in the morning, so I could barely see her even with the dim and flickering streetlight.
She asked first. "Who the hell are you?"
Her voice is pretty too. Even though she was scolding me, all I could think is how mellifluous her voice is. I must have been staring because her cheeks were flushed and she demanded, "What?"
"Uh, oh! It's nothing. Um, I'm Flynn," I stuck out my hand for a handshake.
She pushed my hand away and reiterated her previous question, "Who. The. Hell. Are. You?" Jeez, now she's pissed.
"I already answered that, didn't I?"
"That's not what I meant! Why were you there, you fucking moron..."
"Well, it's because the guy who usually does the jobs is sick, so I had to fill in for him. I normally do the hacking and turn off the alarms, stuff like that." Though I had no obligation to answer, I felt like I had to because of that peircing gaze. I didn't really know what she was asking. It wasn't like I meant for the heist to line up with hers.
"Just- Agh- Whatever. Where's the ring?" Now she stuck out her hand, but instead of handing it over, I held it even tighter in my pocket.
"W-why should I give it to you? I also stole it..."
She was about to blow, though, was she blushing? "Fine! Keep it! See if I care..."
The girl turned on her toe and started to walk in the other direction. Before she left my line of sight, I called out to her.

"Wait! I didn't catch your name!"
"That's because I didn't throw it!" The girl yelled while still facing away. "But if you have to know," she turned around in a huff and while waving her finger at me said, "It's Ash Conti! And I swear to fucking God I will steal something even better than that crummy, old ring!"
The newly identified Ash spun around once more and stormed off.
So pretty...

Zombies
This is one of three stories that I am offering as a test run. If you like it, then I'll choose to continue working on it. I have a whole plot line ready to explore! What can I say, I'm a sucker for rebirth, regression, and transmigration stories. This one is a regression story. The main character get's yeeted back in the past, to where the end began. Read on tortured souls as I do my best to break the weak, and sooth those who don't have a soul to break. I spent some time trying to make a story that explores all the gritty situations a resident of the apocalypse would encounter. Unfortunately, I do struggle with pace. I get just as impatient as you when I can't get to the next bloody encounter. But I despise OP characters, and I really wanna stop and explore the fascinating death of civilization. I write this in hopes of making a main character who get's to be the bad-ass I can't be, without, you know, skipping the good stuff.

Growth
A fantasy story set in a world after mankind has long passed. Their descendants inhabit the ruins of humanity, barely clinging to survival, plagued by monstrous beasts and blessed with strange powers. Note: Have not edited it at all yet. There will likely be pretty broad changes once I get around to actually reading what I've written.
