《Love at First Theft》6. Steal the Hood

Even though the description of the "Zephyr Lady" made it sound like an everyday, family museum, it's actually a high class one where it's expensive to enter and formal dress is required. We opened the storage area underneath the RV to pull out a trunk. I then took out our suits and whistled.
"Jesus Christ, these are so wrinkly."
"It has been a while. Usually we just dress semi-nicely, but this time we need to wear these," Blake replied while taking his from my hands. We then put the trunk back in and went inside.
"Now what? It's tomorrow and we've done everything we need to," I asked while flopping onto the sofa.
"Nothing! We can just relax," Blake replied while plopping down next to we.
"What about the suits?"
"We'll iron them in the morning," He whipped out his laptop and started to play a MOBA game.
Jeez. How the hell is this guy one of the best robbers around?
The next morning we ironed our suits and went to go eat. Once we were done, it was nearing 1, so we just lazed around the RV until quarter to 5. We changed and then went on our way, using a car that we borrowed from a friend because the RV would be too bulky.
Once we got there, it was a madhouse. There were a suprising amount of upper crust that flocked to the museum to try to get a good view of the statue.
"How the fuck will we get in there," I muttered under my breath. We ended up waiting in line to get a ticket and then into another line just to look at it.
"Let's just go downstairs. If I remember correctly from the map, there should be a security room down there," Blake whispered into my ear. We both diverted from the path onto a staircase leading downstairs. Though there was art on display here too, the crowd down here was sparse due to everyone upstairs that wanted to look at the statue. I pulled Blake by the arm down a hallway and found the security room. We opened the door, but we didn't actually think it would open.

What the hell? Why is it open?
The sight inside answered that question quickly. There were incapacitated guards on the floor and the security footage was focused on the crowd upstairs. Someone else must be here too for the statue.
Blake pointed out something on the screen and I immediately understood. There was a hooded figure. Strewn about different screens were three other hooded figures. Those were the people that most likely knower out the guards that were now at our feet. We had to stop them in order to get the statue. But, was I feeling... giddy? I'm pretty sure that I hoped that she was among the hooded figures, but I'm not sure. But I still hoped.
We both ran out of the room and back upstairs. The crowd was a bit more condensed towards the statue, so it was easier to get closer, but there were more people to squeeze by. I knew that everyone I said "Excuse me" to was ticked off, but I don't care. I needed to find one of those figures. I caught a glimpse of some fabric on someone's head and when I touched their shoulder, an old lady turned around, revealing that she was wearing a cloche hat, not a hood.
"Sorry, I thought you were someone else," I apologized quickly and the old lady turned back around, looking pissed.
I started my search again. I bobbed and wove through the crowd, until I saw a person right by the statue.
A hood!
This time I was confident when I poked their shoulder to get their attention. When they turned around, I wasn't even surprised, but I was still ecstatic.
"Hello there, Ash."

Rogue Dungeon: A LitRPG Adventure
From James A. Hunter, author of Viridian Gate Online and War God's Mantle! Check out my first attempt at a Dungeon litRPG Novel! Roark von Graf—hedge mage and lesser noble of Traisbin—is one of only a handful of Freedom fighters left, and he knows the Resistance’s days are numbered. Unless they do something drastic … But when a daring plan to unseat the Tyrant King goes awry, Roark finds himself on the run through an interdimensional portal, which strands him in a very unexpected location: an ultra-immersive, fantasy video game called Hearthworld. He can’t log out, his magic is on the fritz, and worst of all, he’s not even human. Now, he’s a low-class, run-of-the-mil Dungeon monster. Some disgusting, blue-skinned creature called a Troll. At least there’s one small silver lining—Roark managed the grab a powerful magic artifact on his way through the portal, and with it he might just be able to save the world after all. Unless, of course, the Tyrant King gets to him first …Hey everyone, so as most of you know, I write books for a living, and I just put this title up on Amazon (and enrolled it in KU). Because KU requires exclusivity as part of their terms of service, I have had to pull the majority of the content from this site. I left the full novel up for as long as possible, so I hope everyone got a chance to read it. If you haven't had a chance to read it in its entirety (sorry!) you can pick it up on Amazon. Thanks again for coming on this journey with me, and I so hope you enjoyed it. The book will be out on Tuesday July 24th. Best, James Hunter

The Complete Alchemyst book 2
Continuation of the Alchemyst book 1 Sometimes to be the good guy, you gotta be the bad guy. This is a story about Louis, a guy that was just trying to get along before he got kidnapped and forced to play cook by a Cartel. He's no Heisenberg, however. Now that he's out of Prison and put a beat down on some of the folks that put him away, he's facing the real pressures of Life as a single-person superpower: Everyone wants to use him for their own purposes. Along the way he's met a few girls, some good, some bad. He's looking to save the world, establish an evil empire, secure a future for the people he considers his, and maybe finally kill that damned superhero that started it all. This is not 'the boys'. Not all superheroes or supervillains are evil, The 'super' world is expanding to include aliens, magic, and the children of ancient deities and legends. This is NOT a superhero genre deconstruction. Many heroes truly are heroes, and they don't all need to be destroyed to make a good story, but it does look into the dark side of superpowers and the unreasonable and often contradictory demands placed on exceptional people. Please note that this book has extremely graphic and sometimes gross fight scenes, heroes as villains, villains as heroes, opinionated and often politically incorrect characters, some graphic sex scenes, dad jokes, dirty jokes, realistic depictions of romance and flirting, bondage and dominance themes, and more than a few cuss words when they are really appropriate.
