《Overlord in Cultivation》37. The Treasure Cave

“Remember my communicator and don’t forget to give me your address after you choose your residence. I will visit you a few days later.”
After saying that, Yi Yuan, who had bronzed skin, left with his hair in a mess, and his rough face indicated he must have experienced many vicissitudes of life.
Su Yan was astonished because Yi Yuan seemed so irresponsible!
Su Yan felt strange because people around him all looked at him oddly.
Finally, Jing Yanghui could not help laughing loudly, and Tao Tianhua nearly laughed his head off!
“Su Yan is insane!”
Fan Hong, who always wanted Su Yan to be his student, shook his head with helplessness in his eyes. But Su Yan had chosen his mentor and he could not shamelessly force Su Yan to accept him!
“Unexpectedly, Su Yan chose Yi Yuan, who has no teacher title, to be his mentor. It was said that Yi Yuan did not have any disciples since he entered the college.” Many senior students were shocked.
“Yi Yuan is one of the senior teachers in the college. I wonder that how he became a teacher without breaking through to the Destiny Spring Realm, but luckily, he got a body-refining manual.”
“Didn’t Su Yan learn more about Yi Yuan in advance? It’s so irresponsible for him to choose his mentor rashly!”
It was difficult for students in Huaxia College to believe that Yi Yuan could be so unimpressive in the college.
And no one had expected that Su Yan would choose Yi Yuan as his mentor, and Yi Yuan accepted him!
The discussions around Su Yan made him frown. Yi Yuan could create Form-Intention Boxing, so how could he be good for nothing? He was definitely a great master of martial arts!
But what made Su Yan surprised was that Yi Yuan was still one of the Awoken who had not stepped into the Destiny Spring Realm. He wondered whether Yi Yuan also mastered a powerful body-refining manual.
According to the Incipient Scripture, one was able to become powerful by this manual even though he failed to break through to Destiny Spring Realm.
The Incipient Scripture aimed at physical body, but it didn’t involve the method of opening Destiny Spring. Su planned to find out the method in the Scripture Pavilion of the college.
“Come on. Just live with me.”
Bai Xingyuan drew Bai Mengying away in a hurry. Although perfect came from individual cultivation, how far could Su Yan reach without a professional mentor? Also, he was bound by lots of troubles. Originally, he had thought highly of Su Yan, but now he didn’t.
“Is my mentor really so incompetent?”
Su Yan frowned and shook his head, “Given that Mr. Yi could create Form-Intention Boxing, he must be a real master of martial arts. How many mentors in the college can do that?”
Ignoring the gossip around him, Su Yan walked to the summit of Dragon-hidden Mountain.

Core disciples were accommodated well on the mountain. The remaining large accommodations were scarce.
Many newcome core disciples had rushed upward. After all, they had three months to enjoy. No one could avoid expecting a dwelling with abundant essence.
“It’s Dragon Totem!”
As Su Yan chose his dwelling, his eyelids twitched slightly and the Dragon Totem suddenly emitted heat, starting to guide him.
Su Yan felt pleasantly surprised. Until now it occurred to him that Dragon Totem might be able to react to the places with abundant essence.
He walked into the mountain with silence. The mountain was large, where clouds and fog were surging and sunlight was radiating, and courtyards, one after another, were permeated by natural essence.
He had already rushed to the innermost place, where houses were relatively fewer and even the natural essence was insufficient.
“What’s wrong with Su Yan? He has chosen a less qualified mentor. Now he even plans to give up a cozy dwelling?”
“He knows himself well enough. Anyway, he can challenge those students who live in a preferable place to change his residence after three months. These senior students all pay close attention to us, so it is better to choose a small house.”
The spirit power of Su Yan was formidable. Hearing that, Su Yan laughed, “You guys know nothing. Is there any good place with abundant essence which cannot be discovered by Dragon Totem? I guess I can use it to find a Dragon Vein!”
“Here it is!”
Su Yan reached the destination where grew a grove of bamboos. It was a quiet place. There was a courtyard on the edge of the bamboo grove.
Although the dwelling was not big, the building materials were hard ores, which made the house much firmer than the jerry-built constructions centuries ago.
Su Yan removed the sign which said “uninhabited”, then he pushed the door open and stepped into the yard.
The house was about 60 square meters which was big enough for him, including a living room, a dining room and a bathroom.
“The natural essence is not as much as that in other places.”
Su Yan looked around and focused on the living room. He walked into the room and closed the door!
“This is the place where the Dragon Totem was guiding me!”
Su Yan took a deep breath to refrain from being too excited. He began to search feverishly and carefully, “Even if there was no Dragon Vein, could it be possible to find a mineral vein and mine millions of the Essence Stones?”
It would be horrible if people knew his words since there were no more than thousands of Essence Stones on the earth now.
Su Yan searched for a while. Then he squatted seriously and looked at the clean floor, muttering, “Is it under the floor?”
After thinking for a moment, Su Yan pounded the floor heavily with his fists.

This punch broke the floor, and even the mud layer began to crack. How powerful the punch was! He punched three times and the mud layer almost collapsed!
“What’s that?”
Su Yan was astonished and gazed at the scene with his eyes open widely. Meanwhile, like an earthquake, the mud layer began to undulate.
Furthermore, the whole building began to shake. It seemed that the house would fall as something was going to burst out from the ground at any time!
“Buzzing!”
Suddenly, thousands of dazzling lights, like lightning, shoot out from the mud layer one after another and poured out tremendous life essence.
“Shit!!” Su Yan cried out. Once the divine energy leaked out, it would definitely attract all the students in the Dragon-hidden Mountain. He was not strong enough to hold this divine place by himself!
“Boom!”
It was too late for Su Yan to stop it. The floor had collapsed. The vast energy fluctuated, forming a pillar of light like a rising dragon to break through the roof and rush to the sky!
“Ang!”
At that moment, the Dragon Totem revived suddenly. It burst into thousands of golden lights. And the dragon on the Dragon Totem rose and gulped the dragon-shaped essence from the underground entirely in a moment!
The dragon was getting bigger visibly, soaring in the sky. A few moments later, it settled back to Su Yan’s arm.
Su Yan gazed at the scene. He was shocked again that the Dragon Totem burst automatically!
Then, he saw a burrow. It seemed liked a subsidence area. Inside the burrow, the space was filled with the natural essence which looked like sea waving up and down. Moreover, the abundant and thick natural essence was almost liquefied!
Undoubtedly, it was a treasure cave of a Dragon Vein!
This was the most important place for a Dragon Vein, in which, the natural essence converged. There could not be only one treasure cave!
Su Yan opened the treasure cave and the natural essence poured forth.
Fortunately, the Dragon Totem just burst out and absorbed the fierce energy. Otherwise, it would be troublesome.
The Dragon Totem changed, too. Absorbing a great deal of energy, the totem seemed to be alive with a sense of immemorial desolation, as if it could tread on clouds.
Su Yan stared at the totem on his arm. He felt the terrible verve of a real dragon. It was really a breath of a beast king, the most sovereign beast!
“The Dragon Totem becomes scarier. It is full of verve!”
Su Yan took a deep breath, “What kind of treasure is the Dragon Totem on earth? And the treasure cave…?”
Su Yan looked at the treasure cave. Surrounded by the natural essence, it seemed like a Dragon-cultivating pool. The abundant natural essence gushed out of the treasure cave with wisps of golden light, and the golden light could be Dragon Vein Qi!
What a cave paradise! Those golden students couldn’t be treated like this, but Su Yan found it by good luck!
“Hah Hah Hah!”
Su Yan laughed. He was so delighted because he saw countless Innate Liquid inside the treasure cave, besides the Dragon Vein!
“Oh my gosh! It really feels like an unbelievable stroke of luck!”
He couldn’t help laughing. There was inexhaustible Innate Liquid inside., since the treasure cave was a place to breed Innate Liquid indeed!
As a drop of Innate Liquid was equal to one hundred thousand Huaxia coins, the wealth in the cave was stupendous. It might cause a great sensation.
Su Yan was happy but anxious. What should he do next? It was impossible to hold such a great deal of treasure. Once the information spread abroad, he had to hand the treasure cave over.
“Rat-tat!”
Su Yan was shocked by the sudden knock on the door. He became quite nervous like a cat on hot bricks, “Damn! Has it been discovered? What should I do? I have to hand it over if Huaxia College knows it!”
He didn’t know what to do for a moment.
“Rat-tat! Rat-tat! Rat-tat!”
Since the knock on the door became more and more urgent, Su Yan had no choice but to answer the door. Because of nervousness, he even forgot to have a look with his spirit. He closed the door of the living room and opened the front door.
“What’s wrong with you? Why does it take you so long to open the door?”
Outside the door stood a young girl with an irritated face. “Do you know how long I’ve been waited?! What were you doing?” She asked tartly.
Su Yan frowned, “Who are you?” He wondered why the girl was so irritable. A gentleman should have good manners, so he didn’t say more.
“Well, I’m the steward of the Dragon-hidden Mountain! This is your chest. There are your clothes and something Elder Liang asked me to give to you,” said the girl.
Then, she turned and went away, as if she was unwilling to talk with Su Yan any more.
Su Yan was surprised to be dumb. Why this factotum was that arrogant?
“That guy offended Tao Tianhua and became a student of Yi Yuan. What can he accomplish in the future? Let me serve him? Daydream! It’s better to serve Teng Yingjie and Zuo Wenyao!” Chang Lengyu murmured.
However, Su Yan’s spirit heard all of her words.
He was stunned for a moment. Scratching his head, he wondered, “What the hell?! How dare she despise me?”
With a shame! Su Yan threw the chest into the room and closed the door as quickly as he could.

I'm Always Talking to Myself
My name is Zach. I’m a typical bland featureless protagonist type. The kind of guy who has purposefully few defining characteristics so that people can project whatever they want on me. Like Luke from Star Wars or what’s her name from Twilight. Most main characters are like me. Kind of flavorless blank slates because we all secretly doubt that we’re Harrison Ford, but pretty much anyone could be Mitt Romney. Yep. Yes indeed, I do spend basically my entire life running an internal dialog to no one. Usually I’m imagining that there are people listening. Like maybe philosophers from Ancient Greece, or researchers from another planet who act suspiciously like the characters from that Instagram comic with the aliens. Stupid Instagram comedians stealing my internal monologue and turning into a wildly successful enterprise which I would imagine has a vibrant merch dropshipping arm and hundreds of thousands of daily dopamine hits for loyal followers. I basically spend all of my time explaining random things to imaginary people (and aliens, and animals, and household items which have inexplicably gained sentience and frankly have some concerns about this whole existence thing). Honestly, it’s both highly entertaining to me, in that it makes me think about why we humans do all of the bizarre things that we do, but also horrifically exhausting and kind of makes you feel like you’re either, worst cast, losing your grip on reality, or best case, becoming Abed from Community. Anyway, I’m sure that I have some distinguishing characteristics, but, in the interest of hypnotic suggestion I’m choosing to omit them until I’m pretty sure that you have subconsciously come to identify with me, or until I feel like it. (By the way, in case I forgot to mention it, a higher power called Aww Thor or something told me to say that this is a slice-of-life comedy adventure and that it's set in a fantasy world with isekai and LitRPG elements.)

I am not professionally trained as a writer but I have tried my best to teach myself and make the chapters as clean as possible. I believe I have reached a point where my limited skills cannot improve the work or make any more corrections. It is very difficult to show this work, but if I do not, I fear I will never improve and learn. So here it is. To anyone who lends the time to read all of this and any of my chapters. Thank you.

[Archive] Legend of the Nameless Hero
A WhiteSamurai original Web Novel There are always the mysterious tales of heroes, those who fight against the Demons, who fight for justice and those who head mighty quests against tyranny. Heroes that are born to destiny, Heroes that are forged through tragedy, and Heroes that are brought to the world in times of great peril and strife. Not all true Heroes are wanted or beloved, but all life understands, that throughout all time and space, for those who truly stand as Heroes, they never need to be called one. The sands of time are the only true judge for those who journey upon the true path, the only one they will ever need. This is the tale, no, the Legend, the Legend of the one who throughout all time, would forever be, the First Hero. This is Their story, a story of true hardship, of a sorrow greater than any other that would stand as a symbol of inspiration no matter the test of time. A tale of darkness, a true curse, an impending evil hidden beyond the horizons that threatened the very future of existence. This is the tale, of one of the few great figures, who, in the face of true evil, continued to stand. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :Disclaimer: _______________________________________________________________ . . . All Chapters are subject to sudden revision, scrapping, or complete removal from the canonical storyline. The author of "Legend of the Nameless Hero" uses RoyalRoad as a method of experimentation with genre's and writing styles for Fantasy-style works for the sake of eventual publication. The end result isn't to release perfect chapters on RoyalRoadl, but eventually develop the story as intended using the best material to produce the highest quality work. The best mentality when reading works from WhiteSamurai is to see it as the ability to read and review pre-release transcripts or "Rough Copies" before publication. Viewer discretion and maturity are both requested and required. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :About: _______________________________________________________________ . . . This story follows direct character point of views along with an intentional third person narrative to explain to the readers what the characters won't. (I don't use my characters to go give extensive explanations for every last thing like EVERYTHING DOES) This tale shall encompass the life of the Hero from the moment she is summoned into the Kingdom of Kremor, to the Legendary Final Clash. This isn't your run of the mill hack and slash raise an army and conquer, I don't follow that bandwagon. Real life holds politics, intrigue, economics, structure, populations, civil opinions, history, psychology, heart, suffering, wonder, advancement, curiosity, ambition, and so many more things that would lead to me hitting some character limit. I refuse to take the same route that others use by simply ignoring these factors, my worlds, my stories, are as real as they get. There's no plot armor here, if someone screws up, they've screwed up and there's no magical sword in a well for them. I write in 'Seasons' not 'Books' as many often do, these are generally, not always, hundreds of chapters long, though as I have yet to finish a season, the average length is in the air. I go by an ideal of what I call 'Universal Lore' which includes the policy that things that exist within the story don't follow the rule where the Protagonist needs to be there so that it will happen. There will be some things that will happen, and the hero, and sometimes the reader, won't know happened until they enter a place, or news gets to them. A person needs to be in the right place at the right time, I hate plot holes and meta characters above all else... For my works, comments are practically demanded as reactions, thoughts, and various viewpoints are like sweet fuel to my writing spirit. Reviews are highly accepted and appreciated, BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE EDUCATED AND THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED. Those that throw down a low rating ARE HIGHLY REQUESTED to extensively detail and explain their viewpoints on the work. They should also be willing to come back to the work at a later date if messaged by the Author, Me, due to issues they mentioned being taken care of. I'm never against scrapping a chapter or rewriting several paragraphs if there are character or story discrepancies. I want the highest quality work possible, and every comment, every review, are tools for me to use to further that goal. . . . Enjoy the work. ~White Status: (Ongoing)
