《Overlord in Cultivation》59. The Three Realms!

Su Yan held the Wholeness of Qi and spread his spirit power into the jade slips which were used to record important words and could be kept for a long time.
Su Yan’s spirit entered a scripture world, and the scripture of the Wholeness of Qi appeared swiftly in front of his eyes!
If the scripture was powerful enough, every word could educe anomalies. These words were carved by an overmatch with great effort and every word contained his spirit.
“Incipient Realm, Destiny Spring Realm, and the next one is the Implement Constructing Realm!”
Su Yan was shocked, since for the nine levels of the Destiny Spring, every move could be formidable. The peak of the ninth-level was incomparable, and the three deputy deans were all in the peak of the ninth-level of Destiny Spring.
Once entering this secret realm, the divine power inside the body would be growing flourishingly like the Yangtse River.
It was impossible to imagine how strong the power was. The next realm was the Implement Constructing Realm!
Su Yan estimated that maybe the dean was in the Implement Constructing Realm, so were the ten overmatches of the Huaxia Alliance. This realm was extremely hard to reach and it was the most powerful realm in the earth!
But after decades of years, some of the ten overmatches died and no one knew how many people were still alive because it was confidential in Huaxia Alliance. Once it was exposed, it might catch the demon lords’ attention!
What was the demon lord? It was a kind of powerful existence with extremely high intelligence which could be compared with that of the ten overmatches.
“So the Destiny Spring is hidden in the Qi Sea and the Qi Sea is right in the belly. If I want to open the Destiny Spring, I have to find the source of the Qi Sea. Then I can track down the source of the lifeblood in the Qi Sea!”
“The spring opening of the lifeblood is the human being’s life. The stronger Destiny Spring is, the longer people can live and the higher the power is.”
“By the Wholeness of Qi, people can cultivate the Destiny Spring inside the body, and finally the Destiny Spring will become a beam of aura which connecting the heaven and earth. Inside the Wholeness of Qi hides a kind of magic, but why do I think this magic is like the dragon form which is studied by my mentor?”
Su Yan whispered to himself, “My mentor is really powerful and it is not surprising that he has seen the Wholeness of Qi. What is my mentor’s realm? Would it be the Implement Constructing Realm that could bear comparison with the king of the demon lords?”
Su Yan thought for a while, and felt it was possible!
Because of the environmental problem of heaven and earth, Tao wasn’t born. No matter how horrible power a creature owned, its realm couldn’t surpass the Implement Constructing Realm.
Having read the Wholeness of Qi for two days, Su Yan had a general idea about the manual in earlier stage. It was easy for him to perceive the Destiny Spring depending on his powerful spirit.
“He’s started already?”
Liu Chengtian was astonished. How powerful Su Yan’s savvy was? Even Jiang Wuhen spent ten days opening the Destiny Spring as he cultivated the Heaven Incinerator.”
“Hum!”
Suddenly, Su Yan’s body began glowing and his forehead emitted bursts of spiritual power. When he looked inside his body, his frontal bones showed a beam of divine golden line!

Liu Chengtian was moved that Su Yan’s spiritual power was so strong. If Su Yan could study drug refining, he would surely make achievements in this field in the future.
Qi Sea was mysterious and unpredictable, just like the body had infinite potential.
Qi Sea seemed very common, but when Su Yan perceived the direction of Qi Sea by his spiritual power according to the records of the manual, he was shocked to find that the source of the Qi Sea was like a vast starry sky!
“How vast it is!”
Su Yan was shocked, and his spirit got in the source of Qi Sea. Now Qi Sea was invisible but it also existed.
Su Yan’s Qi Sea was in chaos like a pristine universe!
In this chaotic Qi Sea, Su Yan searched desperately for Destiny Spring. He could only strengthen the source of his lifeblood by finding the Destiny Spring and opening it.
Su Yan tried so hard, but he still could not find it.
The vastness of Qi Sea was beyond his expectation. Su Yan lost his way in the chaos and could not find the way back.
Liu Chengtian and Elder Liang were waiting patiently.
It was almost one day. They frowned and thought it would be easy for Su Yan to find the Qi Sea and dig out Destiny Spring with his spirit.
But when they saw Su Yan’s pale face, they had a bad feeling. Su Yan opened his eyes tiredly after his spirit was exhausted.
“Su Yan, what’s going on?” Elder Liang said nervously, “Why are your spirit exhausted? Didn’t you see the Destiny Spring?”
“Think carefully and tell us!” Liu Chengtian took a deep breath and had a kind of ominous presentiment.
Su Yan was very tired, and he was lost in Qi Sea. He didn’t return until his spirit energy was depleted.
“Different from what is recorded in the manual, my Qi Sea is very large!”
After hesitating for a while, he added, “It is just like an endless universe, and I can’t perceive the Destiny Spring!”
“What?” Elder Liang was stupefied, because he never heard that before!
Liu Chengtian kept calm, and he said, “Su Yan, have a rest and then go on. Some people’s Qi Sea is very special. It is just more difficult for you to find Destiny Spring, but don’t worry.”
“Okay, Deputy Dean!”
Su Yan nodded, sat crossed-legged and guided universe essence to recover his spirit with Soul-refining Manual.
Three hours later, Su Yan was full of beans. He took out the Wholeness of Qi again and read it several times. He was sure that he had done it right, so he summoned the spirit to search for Destiny Spring once again.
A voice of scripture-chanting appeared in the chaos.
Su Yan searched aimlessly for Destiny Spring’s trace. His spirit was just like a little boat, searching difficultly in the huge chaotic sea.
The time was ticking away.
One, two, and even three days had passed…
It had been nearly ten days since Su Yan got in Scripture Library. Those people who paid attention to him became very impatient.
“Ten days have already passed, but he is still in the room? It seems like Su Yan’s savvy is not that great. "
Elder Lei went to Scripture Library and the conclusion was disappointing but surprising. Because Su Yan couldn’t find the Destiny Spring all the time!
“I think Su Yan has great talents, however, he just sticks to the old path of Yi Yuan. How can he compete with Teng’er?" Elder Lei sneered, "No wonder he could defeat Jing Yangyu, because he cultivates by refining his body, so does Yi Yuan!”

Finally, news on this thing was spread and caused a great sensation. Su Yan couldn’t open the Destiny Spring all the time.
“Like teacher, like pupil. Don't you know what kind of person Yi Yuan is? Ridiculously, Su Yan cultivates by refining his body, as Yi Yuan does, and it turns out that both of them can’t open the Destiny Spring.”
“It’s really unbelievable! Now Su Yan is the No.1 among the core disciples, but he can’t even open the Destiny Spring.”
“Although Su Yan’s capability is not weak, he will not have any great achievements in the future.”
Many people were discussing constantly, and gossip existed everywhere. Some felt regretful, some felt surprised, and others felt sorry for Su Yan. His fame seemed to be smashed overnight.
“This is Soul-strengthening Liquid.”
Liu Chengtian took out a jade bottle and said, “Drink it, and it can strengthen your spirit. But after that, your spirit will be consumed a lot, so take a good rest then.”
It had been ten days long.
Su Yan even doubted himself. Did he have the Destiny Spring?
Su Yan could cultivate the most powerful martial arts, and he even replaced Wholeness of Qi with Heaven Incinerator, but he still couldn’t feel the existence of Destiny Spring. Did he have no Destiny Spring? Could he only follow the way of cultivating body?
Su Yan drank the liquid. His spirit was strengthened a lot immediately, so was his spiritual perception!
Su Yan strongly hit the Qi Sea. The strengthening of the spirit made Su Yan accelerate his speed of searching.
But he was almost desperate. Chaos existed everywhere, and he could not see a light.
“Don’t I have Destiny Spring?”
Su Yan muttered, as he failed again. At this point, Su was down in the dumps because he couldn’t track Destiny Spring down.
“You can go now.”
Liu Chengtian had a look at Elder Liang who had a complicated expression. Elder Liang was clear about what this meant to Su Yan!
Of course, Su Yan could strengthen himself by body-refining manuals, but it was hard for him to get some big achievements in the future.
“Are you discouraged?”
Liu Chengtian looked at Su Yan with a smile on his face, “Well, it’s really a great blow to you!”
“Deputy Dean, don’t I have the Destiny Spring?” Su Yan didn’t believe it. Destiny Spring was the lifeblood of human’s essence. It was impossible to live without the Destiny Spring.
After hearing that, Liu Chengtian signed, “You definitely have, this may because of the manual you cultivate or your spirit, and most likely, your Destiny Spring is very special!”
“However special the Destiny Spring is, it couldn’t be like this. I can’t even find it.” Su Yan clutched his hair, and his was so fretful. If he could not open the Destiny Spring, the road of being a master would be faraway. If he couldn’t become a master, how could he find out his young sister’s whereabouts and his experiences those years.
“There is a person encountering the same situation as you.” Liu Chengtian burst out laughing suddenly.
When Su heard that, his pupils shrank, “Mr. Yi Yuan?”
“Yes. Now you can go back and consult your mentor.” Liu Chengtian said, “I’ll keep the Qi of Dragon Vein for you for at most two years. Su Yan, never give up. The road of becoming a master is not that easy!”
“Thanks a lot, Deputy Dean. I’ll never give up!”
Su Yan took a deep breath, then he stood up and bowed respectfully to Deputy Dean. Then he went downstairs.
“He is more tenacious than I imagine.”
“Such a talented son. I hope he won’t give up!”
Liu Chengtian sighed. It was difficult for him to forget Yi Yuan’s performance those days. The matter which had happened hurt him heavily. He thought that Yi Yuan would give up completely, yet unexpectedly Yi Yuan toughed it out. However, later many things that had happened hurt him again, which made Liu Chengtian feel regretful!
Walking out of the Scripture Library, Su Yan looked around and shook his head slightly.
The situation was different from that a few days ago. The students used to say hi to him before.
But now, they were indifferent to him, and some of them looked at him sympathetically.
Everyone knew it clearly that for a high-potential student, if Su couldn’t open the Destiny Spring, Su Yan and the others would be in two worlds in the future.
Su Yan took a deep breath. It was impossible that he did not care at all. He tried to calm down, and then he opened the communicator and saw many messages from
Fatty, Lin Wanlan and Xia Yang.
Seeing Fatty’s and Lin Wanlan’s encouraging messages, he felt warm. When he saw Xia Yang’s message, Su Yan was not very surprised as well.
“Bro, I heard that the upper leader wouldn’t give you the three treasures. Damn it! They are so snobbish. But never mind. I believe that you can do wonders in the future, and then you can humiliate them!
Su Yan calmed himself down and was ready to go back to his place while Yi Yuan’s message came. Yi Yuan asked Su Yan to go to his residence.
“Maybe I should go and consult Mr. Yi.”
Su Yan left quickly and saw a crowd of people shaking their heads. From a genius to a loser, it must be so difficult for him to accept the truth even with a strong heart. What surprised Su Yan was Yi Yuan’s residence, a humble bamboo house in a corner of the mountains in Huaxia College.
Su Yan took a deep breath and walked into the house. Closing the door, he saw Yi Yuan sitting cross-legged on the ground.
There left no time for Su Yan to say something and Yi Yuan’s body became terrifying at once. Just like a divine devil was reviving, Yi Yuan’s body emitted a violent aura which could tear apart the universe.
Yi Yuan at that moment seemed to revive entirely. His inner Qi and Blood was about to run through the sky!
“Mentor!”
Su Yan screamed. Before his words came out, Su Yan’s body began to roar automatically. The moment when Yi Yuan broke out, Su Yan’s body was unblocked uncontrollably and raging beams of light sprang up. Su Yan’s awakening body totally revived.
“I know that you have been curious about why our bodies can react to each other”.
Yi Yuan slightly laughed, “I knew it was difficult for you to open your destiny spring before but I didn’t tell you. I can tell you now. Your destiny spring is so terrifying that I can hardly imagine what is required to open it.”
Yi Yuan’s words made Su Yan feel inspired.
Su Yan clenched his fists tightly as he suddenly saw the light, “I am the one who is in the Awakening Realm and own 10,000 horsepower. My physique must be very special!”

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.

Crimson Gloom
Crimson Gloom. The time when the moon turns crimson, illuminating the landscape with its crimson glow. The time when the ‘doors’ to the Crimson Abyss open. One shall gaze into the abyss and gain its secrets and powers. Concurrently, the abyss also gazes into oneself, gaining one’s sanity and humanity. Dimensional rifts appeared spontaneously on Earth, bringing otherworldly demons along with the Crimson Gloom. Bloody battles were fought, noble sacrifices were made. Humans eventually sealed the rifts and successfully defended their homeworld. Alas, the seals were not perfect. The Crimson Abyss continued to exist, slowly influencing Earth and its inhabitants. Half a century of relatively uneventful years passed… humanity slowly descended into corruption, and the majority of them knew nothing of the effects of the Crimson Abyss. Is there only the dreadful gloom left to the world? Can one find brightness in the increasingly gloomy world? The youth who had gazed into the Crimson Abyss had no answer, nor did he care. He only wanted the Crimson Gloom to end, to forever seal the Crimson Abyss. A mistake and a twist of fate led the youth into a seemingly totally different direction. Will he forget his lifelong goal? Will he instead step back onto his initial path that he fervently pursued? Disclaimer: I do not own the image on the cover. Image edited on canva.com.
