《Overlord in Cultivation》C141. Fading Appearance
Advertisement
“He saw me after all...”
Yin Yisi murmured, a little bit upset, for she didn’t want Su Yan to see her aging appearance!
She had been in Snow Mountain for decades. After managing out, she was over 50 years old and her life coming to an end!
Without the mighty essence of Mount Everest, she wouldn’t have survived. Although she embarked on the path of cultivation, she could never reverse the time and restore her young and beautiful looks.
Time was flying; her appearance was fading.
Yin Yisi had thought about departing the world silently since she didn’t know how to face others.
Although her youth hadn’t begun yet, she found her looks vanishing when waking up.
But every time she realized that a man she was concerned about was still trapped in Snow Mountain, she would cultivate laboriously so as to grow far stronger to save him, Su Yan, from the space. It was the goal she was living for.
“How would I dislike you? I wronged you...”
“It was my fault. I hurt you...”
With a wail, Su Yan touched her sunken cheek with his palm. She had been such a beauty years ago, but now she gave up her life for him. Su was heart-broken.
“It’s not you but the destiny to blame. I want the relief, forever. Please survive and live on,” said Yin Yisi, who forced a smile, tired.
After 100 years of separation, they finally met again, yet Yin was unwilling to see Su.
At the thought of it, Su Yan was overwhelmed with anguish and embraced her with a quivering voice, “Nothing’s gonna happen to you, ever!”
“Su Yan!”
Appearing feeble, Yin Yisi said softly, “I’m so glad that you cared. I really don’t want to continue my life. Let me leave the world slowly and bury me on the snow mountain...”
She finished these words with all her strength as her breath weakened quickly. Her eyes gradually went blank; only Su Yan’s appearance was fixed in her mind. Her cheek lit up with a smile that had never appeared in a hundred years.
She recalled a time long before, when Su looked exactly like what he was now. If only they could go back in time then they might still be able to grow old together.
“Who’s the woman?”
All the residents in Huaxia City didn’t know the woman who suddenly showed up, but she blocked Su Yan’s misfortune so he survived.
Nevertheless, the woman was likely to die.
“It’s her!”
With her delicate hands held firmly, Su Bingshuang confirmed the woman’s identity. It was definitely she that rescued Su Yan out of Snow Mountain. She had been helping him all the time.
What shocked people was the soul of Tie Baocai -- a golden panda with a golden bell that was very powerful. Rumbling, the bell burst into a roar like landslides and tsunamis, which obstructed the power of the purple-robe old man for a time!
“Wield the secret treasure of soul!”
As Xia Ze and others rushed madly over, six secret treasures immediately awoke and stroke the purple-robe man together with Tie Baocai.

The old man made every effort to revive his soul’ s power but he failed, especially after the impact by the soul of Yin Yisi, which consumed much of his soul power!
“Damn!”
He had to withdraw, and it was too difficult for anyone present to stop him with his formidable soul’s power.
Resentfully staring at Su Yan, he cruelly threatened before he left, “You lucky young fellow, wait and see. I’ll come back. You won’t live long!”
Su Yan gazed at the old man with cold eyes.
Not saying any word, he scooped Yin Yisi who was losing all her vital signs into his arms and rushed crazily towards Crack of Chaos.
Su Yan clearly knew that the only one who could help Yin Yisi now was the old Taoist in Trial Space!
“According to Su Yan’s talent and task-completion level, the Trial Space may really help Su Yan!”
Tie Baocai said to himself, “After all, the meaning of Trial Space is to cultivate powerhouses for the Post-progenitor Planet. With view to Su Yan’s potential, perhaps the guardian of Toughest Trial will offer to help!”
Anyhow, that the purple-robe old man appeared let Tie utterly confirmed that Zu Yan was absolutely an alien!
Now Huaxia Alliance was quiet. Way too much have happened today!
To begin with, the mortality of the residents in Base No. 9 was at least tens of thousands, all of whom became blood sacrifice because of Zu Yan!
If Su Yan hadn’t wielded the Nine Dragon Swords and frightened away all the beasts, a devastating war might befall Huaxia Alliance.
Who could expect that Zu Yan would be so vicious? He’d hidden his true self for ages. When he revealed it, it was hard for all to accept. In these decades, they believed in and respected Warlord Zu Yan, who, however, had always regarded the alliance as his medicine field!
“I’m so regretful!”
The big and small families that had followed Zu had no clue as to how to defend themselves, and they were not in the mood to do it. They had breached Zu Yan’s den and seen their people, most of whom had already been eaten by the ferocious beasts, with no bones left.
All of these were like a dream.
They including Xia Ze were all silent with growing worries. They had a hunch that they’d face crueler challenges in the future. [xl1] As the alliance was too weak now, what could be done to resist the outside powerhouses?
“Huaxia Alliance, be prepared to enter the first-degree combat readiness!”
After Xia Ze’s war announcement, all forces throughout were completely deployed, rushing to all the bases. Xia had a premonition that the purple-robe old man wouldn’t give up easily. The old man meant to take possession of Su Yan’s body to revive, other than witness his following growth!
“Behind Zu Yan there must be someone else who will stage a comeback. He almost killed Warlord Su Yan!”
“I’m wondering who the woman is. God bless her. Hope she’ll be fine.”

Many looked at Crack of Chaos with concern, all sincerely hoping that Su Yan would find a way to save Yin Yisi in Trial Space.
“Su Yan, I told you not to bring anyone else in!”
In Toughest Trial, the old Taoist was somewhat discontented and complained, “You have violated the rules. They are strict and won’t be changed by anyone. You crossed the line this time, young boy!”
Thud!
Su Yan knelt on one knee and laid Yin Yisi on the ground.
“What are you doing?”
A bit surprised, the old Taoist hurried to help Su Yan up, saying, “I can’t take this solemn etiquette. Get up quickly and tell your story slowly!”
“My senior, please help me save her life!”
Su Yan said with a heavy tone, “Our planet was invaded by aliens. In order to save me her soul is about to crumble!”
“Is the soul crumbling?” The old Taoist frowned with a hint of anger in his eyes. Alien invasion?
“Yes. You must have a way to save her, as you even have secret medicine to repair Destiny Spring!”
“Please help me. She has no physical injuries, but her soul has been hit. Please save her!” pleaded Su.
The Taoist checked the condition of Yin Yisi. Her soul was still there but broken, and as time went on, it began to collapse slowly!
“Time is running out, let’s start. I’ll repay you well in the future!” Su Yan said earnestly, “If you can’t, I will try another way. Maybe there’s still hope!”
“Hope?”
Shaking his head, the old Taoist said, “Who else can treat such a severe condition?”
“You mean, you can?” Su was overjoyed.
“Indeed, I can.”
With that the Taoist shook his head and forced a smile, “But it’s not that easy; it’s a soul matter after all.”
Su Yan seriously said, “I’ll do whatever as you command. Just save her!”
“All right!” The Old Taoist mused for a while and said, “I can hold down her soul for three months, at most. That’s all I can do for a broken soul.”
“If you can break through the fourth level of Trial Space in three months, there’s something good I know that can help her!”
“Three months. I can make it and I must!”
Su Yan breathed a great sigh of relief, of course, only three months. After that, Yin Yisi would positively die, because when the soul collapsed, even elixir of life couldn’t rescue her!
“Let me finish first!”
With a brief meditation, the old Taoist continued, “The fourth level is rather difficult. With your current achievements, there is little hope of completing it in three months. Don’t think it’s easy to do. Three months is too short!”
“Since someone succeeded before, I will make it too!”
Su Yan clenched his fist and said, “Certainly!”
“Fine!” The old Taoist sighed slightly, “Now that you’re determined, then just do it!”
However, deep in his heart, he knew for sure that Su Yan would fail! Completing the fourth level of the trial in three months was as hard as climbing up to the sky!
Meanwhile, the palm of the old Taoist was suddenly suffused with countless clear radiance. Peculiar, the power spread over Yin Yisi’s forehead and turned into a seal which fixed her whole sea of consciousness.
Su Yan found out with his soul that Yin’s soul stopped collapsing!
“Three months. I have merely three months!”
Su held Yin up, looking at her and saying, “Yisi, don’t worry. As long as I’m with you, you’ll be fine!”
When moving Yin to the Phoenix-Shaped Hairpin, Su Yan spotted some white cloth hidden in her sleeve, full of written words.
“This is a letter for me from Yisi!”
His eyes narrowed sharply. There were many words thickly dotted on the cloth, about details of what happened after Yin Yisi’s entering Mount Everest.
It even described the experience of Su Yan in the past 100 years!
When he read about Zu Yan’s origin, Su’s heart sank due to his correct speculation that Zu Yan not only was an outsider, but also came here with the purpose of gaining the Snow Mountain Dragon Coffin.
Back at that time, all three of them were trapped in Snow Mountain.
“Su Yan, I slept for a good while. After waking up, I am old. I’m an old woman now. I’m not sure if you can recognize me.”
“Maybe one day, you will come here and see the bones on the ground and the words I’ve left on this white cloth. If you are conscientious, bury me near the snow mountain.”
Su Yan was out of control. He couldn’t bear to fathom with what mood Yin Yisi wrote these down on the carry-on cloth.
“Zu Yan seems to have changed totally. He just sits there all the time and stares at Snow Mountain Dragon Coffin on the dome with no word after he woke up!”
“I have no idea what secret the mountain has. Why isn’t Zu Yan aging but I am? I’m not eating yet I’m not hungry. What’s wrong with this world?”
“Su Yan, I’m out. It’s been for sixty years and I’m eighty years old now. My youth has been buried in the snow mountain. Isn’t that ridiculous?”
Yin Yisi had recorded her experiences in Snow Mountain by writing diaries.
“I am old and the world has changed in a way that I think you will like; but I don’t want to live any longer. I simply want to free myself forever!”
Su Yan gripped his fists tightly. He could imagine how desperate Yin Yisi was at that time. The world turned rather wonderful.
But she was as helpless as a child without home.
“The coffin was opened, and I saw you float up from it!”

# The Gemstone of Ominium 2 - Pain
Her unfazed expression didn’t even waver when the blade of her thin sword pierced one of the men all the way through armor, flesh and bone, a gurgling sound bubbling from his throat. With a kick she mercilessly pushed him back, freeing her blade, and glanced down at his dead body sprawled at her feet, confirming that death had indeed taken him. The scent of the fresh blood filled her nostrils and her brain like an inebriating drug and she stepped forward once again, lightly turning to one side to avoid being decapitated and quickly returning the favor. One by one the men kept falling as she advanced, victims of her lethal, almost mechanical movements, as if she’d been born with a sword in hand and ready to kill …* This is a direct continuation of Book 1 - Denial. You CANNOT start reading Book 2 without reading Book 1, since the story won't make any sense! Enjoy ^_^*
