Xuan Feng, Jie Zi Fang, Jiang Yan, and Lun Hu had been watching everything that had been happening the past few days. From the deepstrikes to the way each of them liked to position their troops. The four of them were quite certain that the first wave of 800,000 men that they sent would have been enough to destroy the 300,000 of the alliance. However, what they didn’t take into account was the accuracy of the deepstrikes that would have one of the largest impacts on the battlefield. If Baron and his allies did not have such a weapon in their arsenal, they would have likely fallen within a day or two. They were all discussing what they had witnessed on the battlefield.

(XF) “It has been thirteen days since the 8 potential strategists have been fighting with Baron and his group. I’m surprised that they are this bad. Frankly, this is an embarrassment for whoever allowed them to get this far into the inner circle selection process.” Xuan Feng sighed in disappointment.

(JY) “Indeed, not to worry though. We already suspected as much, the recruits are not as promising as they were last time.” Jiang Yan added on.

(JZF) “It doesn’t really matter either way. We will finish the job this time. I have already sent in our bombers and they should be able to sneak in and deal with a lot of deepstrikes before returning back to us. We will be able to hear back from the aerial squad soon.” Jie Zi Fang said.

(LH) “I’m not quite sure that they will be able to come back from such a big loss if that is truly how it will go down. Oh well, I don’t think that they would have been able to hold on for much longer anyway. Still, I did not expect our men to be beaten so badly, it really does put a stain on our prestige as members of the Yellow Wang faction.” Lun Hu agreed.

(XF) “I have to say, Baron and his allies have performed quite admirably so far, but this is the end for them and I don’t think that anyone will be able to save them now. With the bombing of their deepstrikes, they will not be able to hold out for long.”

(JZF) “They should be right on top of the field now and begin their mission in a matter of a few minutes. I’ll be heading out to the high point to see if I can see any of the action from there.”

(LH) “I say, you really don’t like to miss an opportunity to witness the utter and complete devastation of an enemy army do you?”

(JZF) “Haha, no I don’t. There is just something about lulling your enemy into a false sense of security and then taking everything from them in a matter of minutes. I’ll be back soon.”

(XF) “Sometimes I think that the only other thing going in his head aside from warfare is fighting. Such a boring man he is.”

(LH) “Don’t be like that teacher, I’m a bit like that as well. Anyway, what do you think about the Bair fighter? Don’t you think that it is about time they got a move on?”

(JY) “Who knows when they will be prepared to move? They haven’t really done so in the past how many months? Either they are planning something big or they plan to do nothing at all for the remainder of the tournament. Who can really guess what they are thinking.”

(XF) “What Jiang Yan says is correct, we have no idea what they are thinking and honestly I don’t really care. They were able to defeat an alliance with some of the most powerful individuals within the Chinese community, I sure as heck wouldn’t want to go against them.”

In the distance, a quickly approaching set of hastened footsteps was heard rapidly approaching. A moment later, Jie Zi Fang burst through the doors and looked like he had just been shot.

(JZF) “You guys would not believe what just happened. I got to the viewing platform just as the bombers were coming around for another round of unloading their cargo onto the deepstrikes. Then, I saw a few blue lights coming from the field and took down many of our bombers. I don’t know who is responsible for this, but we need to find out.”

(XF) “Looks like there is finally some meaning to taking out Baron and his allies. Recall the bombers and have the soldiers standby, we will finally make our move.”

(LH) “All of us? Don’t you think that is a bit of an overkill situation?”

(XF) “Not at all, I will need all 3 of you on the frontlines as well. We must find out who has the blueprint to such a powerful weapon that I have never even heard of.”

(JZF) “If everyone on the outside saw that event, it will be the talk of the town and they will likely be pestered nonstop once they get out. We need to get to them before anyone else and see who it was. What do you think Jiang Yan?”

(JY) “Well, unless there is someone that we don’t know about, then there are only 3 major candidates. Either someone in Baron’s camp, Zhang Da Zhi’s camp, or Ke’s camp. Judging by how they have been fighting the last few days, I’d wager it is either Zhang Da Zhi or Baron. We must make haste and get to those two, let’s leave now.”

After that conversation, Lun Hu, Jiang Yan, and Jie Zi Fang all set out with their personal units on the front lines and led one and a half million soldiers out of their remaining two million to go and capture Zhang Da Zhi and Baron. What everyone failed to realize was that there were already enemies close to them, a few kilometers up in the sky, the Bair fighters were looking down on everything that was happening on the battlefield. Including Biao Gong and the mysterious lady from the naval portion of the tournament.
