《Warfare's Ultimate Frontier》Chapter 267 The Long Journey Back

Within the community that holds the entirety of the strategists originating from the United States of America, a group of 50 from the Chinese community had been living it up for the past few centuries. A messenger came running from inside one of the large hotels that dotted the landscape and burst into the room where the 50 were having a conversation with each other.
(M) “Esteemed guests, there is yet another message from your community to you all.” The messenger said to the group that was all now staring at him.
(WZX) “Well, go on, what does it say?” Wu Zi Xu, one of the most loyal members of the Sun Alliance upper-echelon, asked gently.
(M) “Yes, of course. Hold on. Ah, here we go. Alright, the message says that they urgently require all of your presence and that it was about time for you to make an appearance in the Chinese community.”
(SB) “Is that it? If that is all, then you are dismissed.” Sun Bin, one of the descendants of Sun Tzu, replied with disdain.
(M) “Uh, not quite. There is another side to this. It says that the problems that have been going unchecked due to the absence of the overlord. That is all.”
(SW) “Perhaps it is finally time to go back. We have been out here for so long, but it seems that this journey might finally be coming to an end.” A man in a wheelchair with the expression and complexion of a sickly old man, whose name was Sun Wu, said.
(ST) “Thank you, messenger, you are excused.” Sun Tzu, the overlord of the Chinese community sighed. He signaled for everyone except for a few to leave with his orders followed without a word being said.

(WZX) “So I take it… it is definitely time for us to go?”
(ST) “I’m afraid so. It looks like a few centuries was not enough for you, brother.”
(SW) “Don’t worry about it. I’m grateful that you have spent all this time with me, but you must return to your duties, as does all of your close aides.”
(SB) “The blueprints we sent home should have been enough to raise the interest in warfare. They ought to be fine for the time being. Even Li Guang and all those elders shouldn’t be able to mess it up that bad.”
(ST) “Enough. We have got one of our tasks accomplished here if only I could say the same for you, brother. This is a really big regret of mine. I never should have let you go alone. By the time I realized my mistake, it was already too late for you.”
(SW) “Don’t beat yourself up over it. It was a conscious decision that I made along with those of my ex-faction. However, the time is past trying to heal me, you have to go look after our people. They certainly need you more than I do at the moment. Well, if the messages are to be believed.”
(ST) “We’ll come back, after the Death Match tournament and try again.”
(SW) “Of course, but not unless you leave our people in good hands.”
(WZX) “What Sun Wu says is correct, we cannot just up and leave as we have before without warning. Should this happen again, I’m not sure just how bad the ramifications might be from the people. You might even lose your position that you worked so hard for, Sun Tzu.”
(SW) “Even if it goes to those extremes, I don’t really think that it will necessarily get that far. Of course, that assumption is only valid if nothing even more major than that Bair fighters incident occurred.”

(ST) “Then it’s decided, we’ll go back now. The preparation that I have to do once I get back for the greatest tournament that we will likely ever see takes several decades at least. I dread having to do anything for that long.”
(SB) “Well, that is what you signed up for when you took over for you know who. The journey back will be a long one, but I can’t wait to see what our faction members have managed to achieve in the time we were gone.”
(WZX) “Heh, perhaps Li Guang might have finally surpassed you. Or maybe one of those leaders from the Yellow Wang faction has become something of a threat. Who knows.”
(ST) “Once I get back, I’ll make sure that everything will become as efficient in the community as I can. The technology that the American community has for sale is definitely heads and shoulders above what we have at the moment. Their power has grown so much in the 200 years we have been here. With the way they are amassing weapons and strategists, they might even be a threat to the Chinese community soon.”
(SB) “Will we be making our trip back the way we came?”
(ST) “No, we need to get to our community as soon as possible. There is absolutely no time to visit the Korean, Roman, and Indian communities anymore. Plus, we have already left those communities with words that hinted we would be back later rather than sooner. We will soon see our allies from the other communities in the Death Match tournament anyway.”
(WZX) “That’s true, but I still wish that we could have gone to the combined Spartan, Greek, and Macedonian communities before we got to this one. I hear they're hoping to make it into the top 5 this time around in the rankings. It is a shame that I will not go toe to toe with their naval leaders, so I hope Zheng He and that new genius Madam Zheng are ready for a simulation they’ll never forget. Hahaha.”
(SB) “I thought that you haven’t been practicing for quite a while now, why are you so sure you’ll be able to beat them?”
(WZX) “Well, I have obtained quite a few new blueprints that I feel like will give me the win. Plus, I haven’t been slacking off as much as you believe me to be. One last thing, my skills definitely take much longer than this to deteriorate.”

The Destiny of a Mortal God (Hiatus)
Currently on hiatus, in part because I'm unsatisfied with how the story was starting to develop, and even though I had ideas how to run it, I still made mistakes far too big to correct them. Secondly I'm currently stressed about university, and sincerely, I don't see myself keeping this project. I may or may not retake this project or even start a new one, but one thing's for sure, it isn't happening anytime soon (Meaning until june, aprox, or until I can keep up with class). ... Lyon Ironblood, 19 years old and orphan, is taken by Kronos from the present Earth to another world, where he shall fight and struggle to get stronger so that he shall acomplish the mission Kronos assigned him. He shall fight gods, demons, dragons and monsters and even mortals who surpass those. But to do so he shall receive, though only after he proved himself worthy, a power beyond imagination. This power will not be handed freely to him, and he'll have to work hard to develop it. He shall receive the X-Men System. A magic system designed to enhance Lyon and give him the mutations from the X-Men serie. He shall start from scratch, with powers that will seem less than a mere human, and develop them with effort, to surpass the gods. [I don't claim ownership of any of the X-Men powers or characters, neither the cover, only thing I claim are the ideas which make the story and put together their powers, how they'll develop from scratch to even higher worlds than they were suposed on the series, other than that, all X-Men characters named (which I'll try to avoid to a certain point) are not of my property]

Stranded in dangerous territory, Jamie’s jaw drops when he discovers his ex among their numbers. But with her personality split and scattered, his own survival will depend on reaching through her fragmented mind… Can this pacifist hunter make the truth known before he’s sentenced to death? My Dear Alice is a fast-paced companion story that bridges Seasons 1 and 2 of the gripping Cyber Overture dystopian series. If you like complex character studies, gritty worlds, and shocking twists, then you’ll love D. B. Goodin’s outlander opus. Note: This should be read after Sonorous. This story has been published, but I'm adding it here for Royal Road readers to enjoy.
