《The Rise of the Soul Stealer》Chapter 30: Aftermath

Here it is, guys. The last chapter of the first book.
Cernunnos and Davy Jones walked amongst the rubble that once used to be Eligor’s mansion. The civilians were in shock since one of the Four Corners had returned victorious earlier the day of the attack. The other Generals were also standing around, but they soon left, taking their men home.
Davy Jones was delirious.
“Hahaha…hahaha…This must be a joke…Who would just…who could just waltz right in here and destroy a Duke no problem? There were no rumors of a movement, so it must have been a small group or even only one person! Who dID THIS?!”
He kept pacing the garbage and debris, kicking it whenever he shouted.
Cernunnos wasn’t paying attention, as he placed another cover over another corpse. He bent down and picked up a little broken bird statue from the ground next to the unfortunate lost soul. He gazed at the once beautiful cerulean figure with anguish as his heart began to break more and more.
This was all his fault. He had brought Melakios here, and now King Gäap was making his move. Ziminiar, Corson, and Amaymon were beginning to move as well, answering to his calls. With the Four Cardinal Kings, things were going to be difficult. He may have to act himself.
No. He should have already acted. Then this wouldn’t have happened. It was time he did something.
Although, it probably could have waited. He grew another couple of centimeters and his antlers became more like horns. His once scholarly appearance became more saintly. His complexion began to age as his hair grew longer and his clothes took on a rich forest green.
Davy Jones, who wasn’t paying attention before, tripped over himself in surprise at seeing a resident of the Angel Realm before him. The Horned God, a being who watches over birth, death, and the afterlife. Before, as Cernunnos, he was a hunter. But now, he was the forest. He quickly cast off his Demon equipment and held onto both the bird figure and the deer mask Melakios made for him.

The Lilim Household fared a lot better. As in, they didn’t get attacked at all. Now that Amar Sin was a Sovereign Level Demon, not even Gäap was willing to actually go to war. He wouldn’t have gone to war before, either, since Lilith was still strong.
But the Tengu Mountain was forsaken. The mountain was razed to the ground but no Tengu were found. Apparently, they all left. They weren’t even at their Main Clan Territory. The masterful Soul Masons had all disappeared.
Asmodai was a Soul Duke, while Bunny and Lonny were actual Dukes. With Furfur’s private army, they could take on many enemies. But one day, Bunny’s father withdrew everyone affiliated with them from Gloss City. The next day, the city was burned down as Count Furfur’s head was mounted on a pike. This was how Demons did things.
They didn’t like it? Kill them. Their way got blocked? Destroy everything the other person loves. They aren’t happy? Steal everything until they get happy. Demons did whatever they wanted, with or without carefully laid plans. With or without thinking of others.
King of the North Gäap had made his wants known. And he wanted Melakios!
Melakios was once again inside the forest. The others helped him exercise and get stronger, but the young child actually started to complain!
“Ugh, this is boring.”
It was a good thing he was away from civilization, or he would have flown right into the trap Gäap had laid for him. But the Demon would never had guessed he would forsake his friends and family for so long. If he had known Melakios was training with no way to contact the outside, he might have waited.
Melakios spent his mornings meditating for his Seed, daytime was for physical training, evening was for hunting, and nighttime was for learning more about Soul Masonry. His schedule was filled to the brim as Teiko would give her findings on meditation and Soul Masonry, while Alkelios taught him the harsh training he went through, and Clair helped him have a nice comfortable sleep every night.

Well, except for when that dream happens.
It starts of nice with everyone standing before him waving. Soon, only Ashikalla stands before him, smiling. He walks over to her, only for the ground to start shaking and a chasm appears directly under Ash’s hooves. He tries to grab her, but she’s too far away and she falls, screaming.
He hears more screaming as he sees his friends from the mansion also falling into the abyss. Teiko’s family walks away, never saying bye or turning around. Cernunnos was gone and in his place was a dangerous looking green stag. A grief filled Davy Jones was out on the ocean as specters tried to drag him and his ship underwater. His friends from the Triple M Trade were trying to hide from a gigantic beast that had ripped right through Count Furfur. Melakios saw the twins and maid along with the Edimmu standing over a beautiful lady who seemed to be forever asleep.
Soon he was all alone as he looked around only seeing the leftover equipment that he had made for them. And then he saw it. A little broken bird with little flakes of dried blood still on it as a lifeless Ash laid beside it, never to breathe again. He would always rush to her body, trying to hold onto her for as long as possible. He searched for her soul, but couldn’t find it. He looked all around, but only saw more bodies.
He was alone. But the dream would always end with a strange green hand grabbing his shoulder, scaring him awake.
He would wake with a yell, unsure of what was happening. The others would assure him that they were there beside him and he would try to get some more sleep before another day of rough training.
There was approximately 6 more months until Pairma’s Tournament.
Well, I will start the story again in another couple of weeks. Until then, I am writing a new Pokémon story as well as a zombie story. I had to start rewriting the MMO story, since it just didn't feel right, but until then, know that this story is in fact not a fun story. In fact, once the MC changes, I plan on making a separate novel altogether since the feel will change entirely. That's right, this is more of a prequel. But I can tell you that there should be at least another 4 books. Thanks for understanding, and see you guys again!
