《Annotated By Sins, Magic Academy》Reboot: Chapter 21

My plan was to walk to the frontline, show off, accumulate kills, then retreat for supper. However, when we got closer to the frontline, even though they look the weakest with one or two deaths happening every now and then. It was still more organized than I would have cared for.
The shield warriors were switching out in a neat fashion. Mages would use a group force back spell and the shield warriors would turn to the side, step back. The second like would step forward.
Then the fighting continued.
This wasn’t exactly the situation I wanted.
I glanced at the barricades and the people on top speared down at the beast trying to climb or jump over.
I tapped my chin while looking around. If I were the soldiers I wouldn’t allow first years to intervene and these guys look like a mix of students from third year and beyond, from different academies.
Which meant they might not be so receptive of us.
I pulled out a card and it crumbled into dust the next second.
With slow spin, then a raise of my hand. The ground beneath us rose up. Like a finger stabbing into the heavens, a multilayer tower jutted into the air. Letting us look down over the battlefield from a commander’s view point.
I toss up another card. A dark green door with golden contour appeared in front of me. I traded out my spear for a bow and arrow. Make that three barriers of three-point tips, enchanted with penetration and explosion runes.
Kayla looked at me before putting away her saber and bringing out a bow as well.
I pointed at a dense pack of beasts, drawing my bow and firing second after. Her arrow followed but we didn’t stop to pay attention to the effect. I pointed out and we both fired. This was how we were going to earn our extra credit.
“Damn, what are the arrows enchanted with. That just wiped out more than fifteen beasts in one hit.” the enchanter hovered over the barrier but after getting her hand smack.
She didn’t reach back in to touch an arrow.

“Tsk, stingy bastards,” she rubbed her hand.
“Linda, why aren’t you meditating. Actually, a better plan. I want you to conjure stone javelin and launch them into the midst of those beasts. When you are out of mana or close to being out, sit down and meditate.” I commanded.
Linda’s eyelids trembled as she peaked over the edge. She took a step back and created a stone chair before doing as I demanded.
I quickly caught on that her stone javelins were barely doing anything more than being a distraction. They bounce off the enemy due to the force behind the throw. Even with the height difference and the force of gravity, it couldn’t even add enough force to pierces these beast outer fur, scales, or even bare skin.
How embarrassing.
“Why are you throwing them by hand?” Kayla barked in embarrassment. “Don’t you know telekinesis or wind spells? Use them to launch the javelins. Fucking making all women around the world look bad.”
Linda's face darken into an incredible shade of purple. The javelins stopped flying out and then we heard a whoosh.
Linda spoke in arcane language and six javelin shot forward with enough speed that they caused our arrows to deviate a bit.
I glanced back at her, then followed the javelin's direction to see that they managed to injure two beasts. Majority of the javelins missed. Only three managed to hit a beast and that was because she caught them mid jump. Whether by design or not, it was nicely done.
I gave her a thumbs up but noticed she was pale and swaying. A slight push and she collapses in her chair. I shook my head and created a spell for her that was less taxing but better for throwing objects.
A kinetic spell that could fall under Spirit magic, but it uses simple gestures like pushing your hand forward. Which would take the kinetic force built up from the movement and multiple it, then add it to the object she was slinging out.
In this way, she would get more bang for the buck.
The blacksmith girl was doing something similar to the order I gave out. Throwing fire spears into the crowd then sitting down to recover. The enchanter, sadly, was nose deep in a book that didn’t even look like a theoretical book. More like a romance book by the way her breathing was picking up.

Kayla pointed at the frontline.
“They need assistance. That’s three level five beasts.”
I glanced over and tossed up a card before pulling out a barrier of arrows primarily for penetration and another more devious magic. Speaking of which, all these souls were going to waste.
I also pulled out a set of clear crystal orbs and began setting up an array while Kayla provided assistance.
I cackled as I powered the baby up twenty minutes later and a whirlpool appeared in the sky above us.
Unless someone had a lot of experience with souls, then this milky white substance that was dancing from the battlefield and soaring towards my whirlpool. Would look just like someone was pouring milk down a funnel.
Kayla looked at the eye of the whirlpool that was reaching down towards the crystal orbs.
“What is this supposed to do?”
I shrugged and grabbed an arrow before lending a hand to the front line. You could see their gratefulness immediately. They would look up and towards us upon seeing something they were fighting drop dead.
Though the mages behind them that was keeping the front of the warriors clear, were clearly annoyed.
“Hey, bastards! Why don’t you shoot them down further back? Maybe make a bridge so they can jump over the frontline while you’re at it? Fucking morons.”
I laughed and increased my fire rate but after another hour. My arms were like lead plates. So sore that they could only hang by my side as dead weights. Kayla wasn’t any better. She was sipping on a straw of a drink out of a barrier that was half her height. Her arms hung down in front of her bent body like useless appendages.
“Who is in the lead?” I asked randomly.
Linda responded first, “Prince’s group. They have thirty-six more kills than you do. At hundred and thirty-nine.”
How in the hell?
We had height advantage, range advantage, and…
I look over to see those bastards have copied my tower. It wasn’t the exact copy, but close enough.
Should I be petty and unleash one of my strongest spells?
Naw, I’m not petty.
I took a potion out of my bag and floated the vial into my mouth. I instantly felt relief in my arms and I clapped my hands together before slamming down.
Kayla and the crew look at me like I was stupid.
I merely smirked and began packing up everybody but the array.
Flash!
Boom!
The fat on our faces rush backwards. I acted quick enough to secure our feet to the stone tower but even the tower leaned back in the after shock of the explosion.
I didn’t know about them but my eyes only saw whites. I didn’t even pay attention to if I could hear. What was there to hear in the after silence?
I took another health potion and laughed at the devastation. There was a huge crater that sunken many of the barricades. If my tower wasn’t already leaning backwards, it would be leaning forward. Many of the beasts were pasted.
I quickly began replacing my soul crystals when the originals began to overfill.
I was like a little boy at the candy store. Clapping and hopping into the air, clapping my heels together.
Totally not petty.
Mm, not at all.
Mm, I didn’t overkill at all.
I glanced at the seven foot battle angels mowing down those that were still alive. They work in a wedge formation, five meters apart. Anything happening to end up in their path became grinded meat.
Ho, totally not petty.
“Your class is about to end in ten minutes. All those still alive, please return to the portal entrances to return to the academy. Thank you for sacrificing your lives so I can eat and sleep better. Heaven knows.”
What the fuck does heaven knows mean? Wait? What da fuck? Was he jinxing us just now? Couldn’t he show a little more respect?

Magic Squared
A world filled with magic, quite generic in outward appearance has one underlying mechanic that makes it oh so very powerful for one man, or now thing. Christopher Collins (Chris) is reincarnated into a fantasy world to regain memories of his former 19 years of life and discovers that the magic of his new world is closer to science than many realize. Follow Chris as he falls into an unfortunate series of events to become something more...or perhaps less. This will be a story of magic, blood and physics. On advisement I have changed the synopsis, originally I tried to be vague and hide the plot twist/ change so here is a disclaimer. The first 10 chapters are the buildup to the real story. I will re-write them at some point but for now, they provide a small glimpse into the story and allow for a fats bit of character progression. ⚠️ may have unexpected plot twists, the MC changes quite a bit in the first 10 chapters ⚠️ The Basics: Spoiler Magic: Yes Smartphones: No Martial Arts: Some Monsters: Yes Adventure: Yes Basic Physics: Yes Dialog Boxes: No Updates: Currently about 4 chapters a week now that I'm off my exams. Author : This is my first attempt at a fiction on RR and hope you can be lenient with me about grammar and spellings. Please point them out and i'll try to fix them ASAP for your smooth reading pleasure. Content: The MC will be powerful but not broken, he will win with intelligence and a deep understanding of how magic and physics works, this means his magic is powerful but not broken. I do not plan for Harems, or overly vertuouse MC. I will try to keep his personality as realistic as possible. NO “i will feed the world by growing potatoes shit” Notes: (I do not own the art for the cover of this novel)
