《MARVEL FANFIC: UMBRA》CHAPTER 011

The certain city in texas was in a decent shape from the outside. However, once you went deeper towards the center, trail of destruction start to appear.
Buildings are chipped by explosions and fire are happening in multiple areas across the city. The whole situation was in chaos and many citizens were either out on the streets or driving as far away from the city center as possible.
However the most hurt after the horrible attack in the city were actually foreign people that came to aid the city. They are people wearing a plated armor in modern times carrying a sword and a bunch of guns.
These guys are the Myrmidons. They are an army based on New Olympus and operate throughout Canada. They are an arny that has gained an international ranking similar to UN Peacekeepers and SHIELD, which entitled that it is an army allowed to operate on foreign nation in case of emergencies.
The Myrmidons have a long history of aiding those in need. They have multiple accolades during the World Wars and are considered a top notch army. Which is why most countries have no qualms when they are deployed since they have such trustworthy reputation.
However, the situation in the city in Texas is currently a minor one at the beginning which involved two individuals that was capable of hurting numerous people and destroying property. So having the Myrmidons to come is a very weird occurence.
The Myrmidons arrived earlier after the attack due to the call of Umbra. They were tasked to go into the city to help in the hospitals and in the reconstruction of the city. Due to their clean reputation, they were welcomed by the citizens. However the situation would turn for the worse once the sun went down.
An explosion resounded through the bustling city and people started panicking. Even the police force where in a state of fear since they weren't really trained to deak with individuals that have almost magical powers. The worst oart was that it happened on the hospital directly which caused further chaos since the already wounded were forced to flee for their lives.
The Myrmidons however where prepared for such attack, which is why the members were quick in going to their trucks and pulled out nunerous weapons just in case a dangerous opponent come for the second time.
All their bullets are made in silver and some even carried heavy artillery. These were not allowed in the US but they still came carrying these weapons since their General, Umbra, called for such firepower.

They were quick to act and in seconds, they are already ushering the civilians to safety while still being vigilant for further attacks. They even saw a blazing skeleton ran carrying a women but let the suspicious individual go since they were already briefed by the General that there was a possibility of the encountering such individual.
They were ordered to aid the civilian and to steer all said civilian as far away from the Blazing Skeleton or as their General called it, the Ghost Rider. They are tasked to help the Ghost Rider in the case that their General wasn't in the scene.
"ALL MYRMIDONS NEAR WINDOWS SEARCH FOR COVER! INCOMING STRIKE IN 2 SECONDS!" A warning resounded on the earpiece of each Myrmidons.
Without a second thought, they grabbed the civilian nearest to them and took them down into a ducking position or in a safer place.
After the said 2 seconds, a barrage of explosions hit the hospital causing the whole outer corridor's wall to explode. All these explosions follow the direction in which the Ghost Rider was running to.
After the explosion, numerous gun fires resounded through the hospital as numerous Myrmidons immediately jumped into action. They pulled out numerous guns and started firing away to an individual that was in front of thw hospital that can seemingly produce fireballs out of nothing.
To be honest, the attacks of the Myrmidons are similar to a child slapping an adult numerous times. It does not hurt much, but it can still be annoying in the long run.
Which made the enemy angry to the point that it sent a flamethrower like attack which attacked not only the Myrmidons but also the hysteric civilians running through the halls of the hospital. The attack burned the Hospital directly but the attack would be cut short by a Sniper Bullet hitting the attacker in the head.
The bullet didn't pass through the head of the assaulter, it did however pierced a little and made the attacker's head blow to the left. This opening was then utilized by a squad of Myrmidons who pulled out their swords and mace. They began beating the hell out of the attacker but their chance would be cut short as a blast of Water hit them with enough force that they actually went flying into the air.
A man would then appear from a dark cloud and pick up a Myrmidon by their necks and raised her into eye level.
"Who are you meddling ants? Are you from the church?" The mysterious man asked in a playful tone

"SCREW *COUGH* YOU!" The female soldier answered rudely which further amused the mysterious man
"Feisty little thing are you? Let's see that insignia of yours. Oh...Myrmidons? How fitting! Fitting name for a bunch of ants." The man said as he laughed at the name of the organization
While the man was busy questioning the female Myrmidon, another Myrmidon tried to sneaked behind the man to try to assassinate the enemy.
"Quite the rude bunch aren't you. Don't you see that I am talking to this girl over here...oh it looks like she's already out cold." The man said as he caught the sword used by the Myrmidon with his two fingers.
He let go of the woman who passed out due to the lack of air, then turned his attention to his attacker for further questioning.
"RAAGHHHH! YOU BASTARDS! I'LL KILL YOU ALL!" A shout resounded in the battlefield as an enrage Ghost Rider leapt off from the hospital and landed straight to the attacker that was using fire.
"YOU LIKE FIRE? I WILL SHOW YOU FIRE!" The Ghost Rider shouted as he started spewing Hell Fire directly to the mouth of his opponent.
A cry of pain resounded through the field which earned the attention of the assailant that was using water powers to lay waste to the Myrmidons which are unceasing with their attack while others evacuate the trapped citizens to safety.
"Looks like Father's Dog is finally here." The man muttered with annoyance as he threw the Myrmidon that he was holding by the neck and charged to the Ghost Rider
While things are about to go down with the Ghost Rider and the two attackers, the Myrmidons were wisely trickling down the stamina of the Water User.
They are not just charging without any form of plan or team work. They are using their resources well and allowing different Myrmidon to get into the action and leave once they sustained a damage.
They are a literal army fighting a single man. A single ant may not kill a snake, but a whole army can. So with that same mentality, they utilize the troops available. Since there are 100 Myrmidons deployed, they distract the enemy and allowed him to feel cocky.
They are allowing themselves to be flung like stunt doubles even though they can stand their ground against the enemy. After about 15 Myrmidon flew across the field, a rocket launcher was finally authorized by the Centurion.
The Centurion is the leader of a Century in the Myrmidon. A Century wass originally 80 soldiers but to makeut simpler, Umbra made it into 100 for easier division.
The Centurion that was deployed was Sarah Athenian better known at he alias [Marrow]. She was an orphan mutant, no an orphaned Meta Human rescued by the Argonauts along with other Meta Human kids in an Experimatation Lab. She was a bizarre but powerful Meta Human that was capable of creating and controlling Bones.
She was a Combat Class Meta Human that had the drive to be a Argonaut like her rescuers. In her aspiration to be an Argonaut, she became a Centurion in the Myrmidon which is at the same level of an Argonaut.
She was qualified for her dream, but she realized her calling. Sarah realized that when she was still a low level Myrmidon that her team members where the ones that decided to understand her for who she was as a person and sticked with her even if her ability may seem gruesome. Sarah valued these connections and she was not willing to just move on to be an Argonaut.
She had experiences with them and they developed this trust for each other with their lives. She worked hard to excell not only for her own ego but to be able to help her team members to live and come back safe from their missions.
That is what she was doing when tackling this Water User (Meta Human?). She saw that her opponent was capable of turning into water so she ordered her Myrmidons to attack using a blunt weapon to lessen the guard of the opponent. Ofcourse, as her regular procedure she gave all her troops an armor made from bones which allowed them to take hits.
Marrow was doing her best to divert the enemies attention to a single soldier and instead focus on the whole group. She issued a strict order that once a soldier was hit, he/she is to immediately evacuate the field and await for further action.
Now that the Ghost Rider is about to tackle the other two opponent, Marrow's attention can now be more focused into the Water User. After 15 Myrmidons where tossed around like a ball, she decided it was time for the big guns.

They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
