《Just Another Isekai》Prologue: End of an Era

On the 331st solstice of the Utradem calendar, the Gods made their presence known. The Herald came down in their shining armor of gold. Every beat of their six wings released a gust that could level mountains. Their striking figure blocking out all stars in the sky and then some. Their trumpets bellowed and all life was silent. All existence watched as the Herald unfurled the scroll of Gods tongue. Their words boomed over every valley, sea, and mountain as they relayed the many God’s will.
“We have seen this world’s wickedness and vile nature” they said “Time and time again we have offered a chance for repentance. Yet you spat at our gracious hand. For your transgressions against the divine, may this realm be abandoned. For the Gods have united in their decision and banished Utradem from death.”

It wasn’t supposed to be like this.
I was supposed to be a hero. That’s how it was in all the books and games. I would be given some stupidly broken power and effortlessly save the world. I was supposed to have a harem of beautiful women, princesses, childhood friends, hell maybe even the Big Bad’s daughter. I was supposed to prove my worth to everyone immediately, they were supposed to love me and care for me. I should have friends, comrade-in-arms, a new family.
But none of that happened.
No, there was no cool powers, no great welcome, not even a GOD DAMN demon king for me to fight. No “Welcome Hero!” no loving women or friends, nothing!
It wasn’t supposed to be this way.
All I got was pain. Unending eternal suffering.
Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain PAIN
PAIN!
…..I was supposed to be a god damned Hero.

The Anthology
This is my collection of short stories. I ask what stories would my audience like to read and write whatever they post in the comments. I strive for more than two dimensional characters and I like to make my stories somewhat unique. The first six entries are my experiment to just write without stopping and see what comes out. They can serve as an introduction for the reader to me as a thinker and writer. Although it should be known that the majority of those entries were written in a foggy state of mind. Entry seven is where my short stories begin.
