-Fort Frased 3 Days later-
Captain of the Guards POV
It started as an average day with watch tower duty the merchants and hunter who were coming into the town followed the protocol of having their items checked and their Ids looked at to watch out for criminals. As I left my post to switch with the cart squad so they could take a break the new watchman yelled to me
“Hey Captain something's coming from the center road!”
Looking tsars the road in question I noticed that the trees seemed to shake slightly.
*Shit if it's a troll or ogre were in trouble*
The reason the caption was worried was that most of the newest guards to join the ranks were posted to the northern gate while the veterans were posted to the southernmost gate.Considering that the city of Fort Frased was the most northern of the cities the Guards had to be ready to defend merchants and nobles who were being chased from the other cities causing the north gates to be used by the poorer merchants and the hunters who took the game from the forest to the north.
“Men gather up on me we might have a problem!” the captain yelled
As the Gaurds looked at him they wondered if they should leave the merchants out side or let them in for safety. The captain realizing this told the merchants to enter the town as the Gaurds gathered around him.As they prepared for the encounter the footsteps grew louder as the creature aproched.
“Ready your weapons men!”
Pulling their swords out the Gaurds ready themselves, the older ones were calm while the new recuits were shaking in their leather armor. It was at this moment around the row of bushes leading to the clearing that the captain spotted a man dressed in white.

*is that a monk?*
The captain thought the monks of this world mainly lived in the mountains in the center of the continent and were the keepers of knowledge only a few were stationed around the kingdom to do the census work along with gathering rare books and artifacts to study from.
“Halt! State your business!”the captain shouted
Hearing this the monk stopped in front of him and flashed the medallion around his neck, the symbol of their order and the item that gave them access everywhere. Seeing the item the captain stiffened
“Welcome back sir!” He said
Waving him off the monk turned to the woods and motioned for something to come. With this action the trees shook once again as two others dressed in white came around the corner, this was not too surprising until the thing that was shaking the tree turned the corner a man standing 10ft tall!
Seeing the person walk closer to them they noticed a small child on its shoulder hiding its face behind his hair.
Behind the captain he could hear murmur of the Guards talking
“What is that?!?”
“He’s huge!”
“Quiet boys don't be disrespectful that a Giant in front of yah” spoke an older Guard
As the Giant stopped next to the monks the first monk to greatme spoke
“We are here to complete this year's census and we have two new entries into the list”
as he spoke these words he motioned to the Giant and the child. The idea of a giant joining a kingdom was beyond the catians train of thought in past wars giants fought in chains as slaves by a county but it usually took years to beat their will down so they would obey but in combat a giant could kill a full army of regular soldiers, the only thing that could kill them were mages and summoned creatures that didn’t have to get close to kill them.

“Sir i understand why you brought him but i'm going to have to ask you to let us guide you to the fort where you can finish your paperwork” The Captain said
Knowing that this was prodigal the monks shrugged and started to walk into the city, followed by the giant and a group of ten guards.
