《The Inheritor》Ch 17 Dusty Zephyr Island

The students quietly followed him; since it's their first class, the students weren’t fully adapted to the environment, all thr kids were a bit stiff. Then Fran toured around the island explaining the prime locations.
First, he went through a primitive pathway carved out in the woods, in such a manner that it wouldn’t disrupt the forest’s normalcy.
The small pathway led them to a colossal balck tower fully made of smooth marble. Fran went near the gate and stopped. He turned around to see the kids staring at the tower in awe.
“This is a Refining Tower for body refining students to train and practice their techniques. It has 11 different layers for tempering the body. You will come here to practice after you start your body refining.”
Without wasting any time Fran took them to an open auditorium, there was a big stage with numerous chair in front of it.
“This place is the Assembly Hall of Dusty Zephyr Island, monthly once all the students must gather here. It is a kind of interaction session between the senior and junior students.”
“You will receive notification before the assembly, it is compulsory, and those who miss it will be punished.”
Fran once again started, without giving them any time to play around.
Though it was just a short trip the kids were tired, thus Fran brought them back to the nameless old building.
All the students looked at Fran with a doubtful face. Fran saw the kids and shook his head.
“These are all the places you need to know at present. The classroom, training tower and the assembly hall are the only places you will need to visit. Everyone, please collect your private Floating Cloud from me.”
Fran took small Cotton like clouds and distributed to all the kids. The kids were excited to receive the unique toy. Though it looked very fragile and flexible, the material was surprisingly resilient.
Even Quinn wasn’t able to tear it apart, let alone other kids. Fran saw the kids playing with the Flying cotton.
“Your School Ring will be updated with the class timings, School map and Dusty Zephyr Island map."
“One more thing your Floating cloud can only carry one person at a time, so don’t try anything funny. Okay, this is the end of today’s class. See you tomorrow. Report to the class as per the timings given to you."

Then Fran turned around and walked into the old building leaving behind the students who were shocked and stunned.
These kids were pretty much stranded in the middle of nowhere with a brand new device, which they didn’t know how to switch on much less use it to return to the dormitory.
All students started panicking and one guy rushed to the Classroom door and heavily knocked it.
The whole building was eerily silent like a ghost house, after knocking for some time someone from the crowd shouted for their teacher.
Though the kids were confused and slightly scared they did not cry or make a fuss.
All the kids enthusiastically played several tricks with the Floating Cloud in hopes of figuring out a way to open it.
They ordered it like other devices, but it didn’t respond; some tried to stand on the cloud, only to fall over.
One idiot even tried to drip a drop of blood onto the cloud, unfortunately he bit the fingers too deeply and cried from pain.
Quinn was amused seeing their childish attempts. Though Quinn felt that their attempts were stupid he copied what they did instead of criticizing them.
He was sure that their teacher was watching them and he didn’t want to attract unwanted attention.
After few hours the kids got tired and lost their interest on floating clouds. Moreover, they were all hungry; some desperate students even banged the doors, forgetting their manners.
Quinn wasn’t affected and he stayed calm, earlier he thought of consoling his roommate but then decided against it, he was sure this was some sort of test.
Seeing the commotion Quinn was tempted to calm them and put their heads together to find a way out.
Quinn was hesitant; though it was pure torture to be surrounded by numerous crybabies and crazy kids.
While he was copying others, he also mentally searching for a solution. He recalled everything Fran said from the beginning to find clues.
Though he still couldn’t find the solution, he wasn’t dispirited it was just a way to tend his boredom. Quinn wasn’t really trying hard; he was sure the method would be childish and the actual test is about team-work. While Quinn was pondering a small girl shouted.

“Everyone stop and hear me out.”
It was a very little girl trying to play boss. She was standing upright with her hands folded, with an serious expression.
“I’m Tracy Pogher; we have been trying to activate the cloud for more than an hour, it still not working. So let’s gather the already tested method and find a new method through discussion.”
Though she tried to act like a leader and a brave warrior, it was more of a hilarious show of small kids trying to imitate cartoon characters.
Quinn was more relieved than humored by Tracy’s childish performance, he knew they had passed the real test the moment someone stood up.
All the children accepted her proposal, as they were kids. Afterwards, everyone gathered around Tracy and one by informed the various procedures they tried out.
Tracy used her School Ring to make a record of all the data and shared with the entire class. Thus the error of duplication was eradicated, Quinn had to it give to her, Tracy was very smart for a five-year old kid.
And so Quinn stopped thinking about the problem all together. It will only be a matter of time before the method was found.
Quinn realized that this was a test for 5-year-old kids, and only they can solve. Quinn was too mature to solve such puzzles, as much he wished to Quinn could never think like a 5-year-old kid.
Ten minutes later a kid found a way to start the Floating cloud just as Quinn predicted.
The one who found the method was surprisingly Boris.
First, you must place the School Ring on the Flying Cloud and then use your PI to order it to start. Actually many tried to put the School Ring on the cloud, but no one thought of using the PI.
PI is blocked in the school; its function is even lesser compared to School Ring, so everyone ignored it. But Boris tried it out of curiosity and found the method. In reality this was nothing but a random guess.
Everyone copied the same method and started their flying cloud and ordered it go to their Dormitory Lakeshore. All the students passed through the fog on the island and reached the shore.
The Floating Cloud entered into the School Ring after dropping them on the shore. There were many students from different classes coming on a Flying cloud just like them.
The entire crowd literally ran through to the road and dashed the next few minutes to their Dormitories. All their stomachs was growling in hunger so they didn’t even pause to give goodbye to their classmates.
Back in Dusty Zephyr Island, Fran was watching the entire scene; it wasn’t Fran’s idea or desire to test to the kids on their very first class. This is a customary practice carried out in Natal Dawn for decades.
Fran was delighted to have quick-witted to group of students. Having good students is the biggest wish of any teacher.
“Its good batch.”
Ben appeared behind Fran; though he was standing behind Fran, Ben’s horrible voice gave him out.
“Yes, they are smart kids."
Fran answered carelessly without giving much thought. Ben looked at the direction of the dormitory and then nodded as if he agreed with Fran.
Then Ben went out of the building and entered the woods. Fran returned to his study and busied himself.
In the dorm, Quinn was having eating like a staved old beggar, in fact, all the students were like a hungry ghost when they returned to their rooms. They all ordered their Butlers to cook the food immediately.
After finishing the lunch Quinn and roommates decided to have a quick nap. He sub-consciously operated ‘Origin Soul Manual’. It has long become a habit, now he could sleep without cultivating ‘Origin Soul Manual’.
Quinn woke up late in the evening and played around with his new friends a bit.
It was mostly resolving their petty fights and judging each game; though logically it should be boring and Quinn strangely enjoyed hanging out with these pure yet naughty kids.

All while keeping herself, and her son, alive. Is the miracle of magic really enough to make up for all the pain? The Ruins of Magincia is a dark fantasy that's heavy on the drama (LitRPG aspects are very light). Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.

Midnight Origins: Arrival
On a lush planet known as Bhar, Verun is now the leading nation in the development of the rivaled schools of Magic and Science. Having brought forth an era of peace and prosperity for themselves through the development of Magitech, The High council was eager to spread their knowledge and beliefs to the furthest reaches of the continent, with the goal of ending senseless conflicts and prioritizing advancements in Magitech and improving the quality of life. This ambition, however, is not without opposition. Most followers side with one school or another, believing it is superior in nature. This conflict dates back to the very beginning of civilization itself, where it is believed by both sides that their gods descended from the heavens, bestowing upon them the knowledge that would bring the world into a new age. And though some took great interest in their differences, others would seek to convert each other through any means necessary. That being the case, The High council, leaders of Verun, had made the necessary preparations to handle threats and attempt diplomacy between the remaining opposers. Talented volunteers were hand chosen to be among the military, tasked with protecting the nation from both internal and external threats. And although non-biological creations have improved quality of life, they are not yet capable of replacing the military. The necessary research and development for such a thing was thought to be decades away, until Councilman Eranor encountered an anomaly in his facility…
