The very angry woman stood up from her chair.
Her face bright red in anger.
"Mom wait! Give her a chance! " Sean yelled.
"Like what? Prove her worth? " Mrs. White yelled.
"I can fight miss, I could defend myself." I said.
"With your fist? Oh really." She snorked.
"Anna!" Sean's dad yelled.
Soooo, Sean's dad don't care about ranks while Sean's mom cares....
Now I wonder how they even got married.
"Sure, I'll give you a chance." Mrs. White said, "Beat Sean in a fight with him only using 5% of his power."
I looked at Sean, and then at the crazy lady.
What?
"But mom, that's....."
Yep, he thinks he busted himself.
"Too harsh? How about...James?" Mrs. White said.
James?
"But that's....." Sean wanted to continue, but got cut off.
"That's set, James it is." She said.
I didn't dare to question about James, I just quietly followed them to the car, not wanting to start a argument.
"Where are we going?" Sean asked.
"Your house." Mrs. White said.
***************
Holy...
Sean had a Mansion?!
No, not just a normal Mansion, it's more like...a castle? No that's too dramatic, how about I call it.... a mansion that is 3 times the normal size of a mansion, yeah, make sense?
I looked at Sean and back at the oversized house.
Holy moly potato rollie this is big.
"Sean, I get that you're rich, but you never told me you were this rich...." I said, but then stopped as I stopped the woman glaring at me in murderous eyes.
"Don't you dare talk to my son, cripple." She said, this woman turned to Sean and slapped him, "THIS, is the woman you chose, I'm disappointed in you, not only is she a cripple, but she's a gold digger TOO, she's even WORST then that...that Bethy girl."

She....just slapped Sean?
"ANNA! " Sean's dad yelled, he grabbed the woman's wrist and pulled her away from Sean.
Shawn squealed and ran behind me.
"Shawn, don't you DARE touch that girl! " Mrs. White yelled.
Well, at least she called me a girl instead of a cripple.
This family is messed up, I'm sorry Sean, but your family is a bit messed up.
Shawn nodded and walked away from me.
I sighed and straightened my back.
"James! " Shawn yelled.
The voice echoed through the house, it's pretty creppy how Shawn's voice is coming from every direction.
"Yes? Young master Shawn? I see you have came back." A man in his his early 30s walked out.
"James, I need you to fight this...this cripple girl." Mrs.White said.
Ok, now she putted cripple and girl together.
"Just fighting her with my normal power or special treatments?" James asked, his face showing no other expression then calm.
"10% will be enough." Mrs.White replied.
******************
Oh my gwad...
This backyard alone is able to fit a whole generation of Timmy.
"Millie! " Mr. White yelled behind me.
"Yes sir? " I turned around.
At least he didn't call me a cripple.
He pointed at the empty plot on my right.
Oh, so that's where I will be fighting.
"Quick! I don't have all day! " The impatient woman yelled.
I rushed towards the plot and stood 3 meters away from James.
"5 steps back."
I turned around and walked 5 steps forward.
I have to figure out his quirk as fast as possible.
Shawn and Sean was sitting on a bench.
The little guy looks pretty eager to watch the fight.
"Erm, miss, what is his q-----"
"Just fight."
Ok....rude.
Then forget the about the quirk, I'll end this as quick as possible, without using too much of my quirk.

"Start."
I turned back immediately and dashed towards James, he wasn't able to react as fast.
He seemed really shock when he found himself facing me and tried to trap me with...roots?
I ducked, dodging the attacks, I grabbed the nearest and toughest root and swung myself at him, increasing my speed.
He tried to dodge me by trapping me.
I closed my eyes and activated my first quirk, Monochrome.
The world stopped, all was black and white.
I took a second to catch my breathe before taking a step forward and changing the direction of the roots.
My quirk deactivated.
James's roots failed to trap me in time.
His eyes widened in shock at the results.
I grabbed his head, surged energy in my arm and smashed him on the ground.
I grabbed both of his arms and pinned him on the ground.
"Gotcha." I said.
I might have overestimated his power.
Shawn's eyes widened, "5 SECONDS! 5 SECONDS MOM! "
Mrs and Mr. White was frozen in their spots.
Sean flinched all of a sudden.
Shawn jumped in joy and ran toward his mom, "That means I can play with big sister Millie right?"
I released James and brushed the dirt of my dress.
"You got me." James laughed.
"That was astonishing Millie, amazing fighting skills." Mr. White said as he walked towards me.
"If you don't mind me asking, how are your grades?" He asked.
"My grades?" I said, " I'm a straight A student, except once...when I've gotten a B ..."
"Great! What do you think? " Mr.White asked his wife.
It took a while before she responded.
"That was... Pretty unexpected." She said.
HA! Told ya, the power of a cripple...
Wait, no I'm not a cripple.
I've been pretending so long, even I thought I was a c--------
"Millie, can I talk to you?" Sean asked.
I nodded, I followed him into the house while the married couple were discussing.
"What is it?" I asked.
"You know about it...right?" He said.
"About what? " I said.
He must be talking about his quirk.
"About my identity."
"Your ........ Cripple reputation? " I laughed, "Yeah, I do."
I should totally mess with him for a while.
"Wha...."
"Let's stop talking about this, I wanna get to meet your brother more." I smiled.
"Oh right! By the way." I said, "About your family...."
"Balala, my mom cares about all that, balala, my dad don't, boom, they are weird, if you are wondering how they got married. They were forced, you know, an arranged marriage." Sean explained.
"Oh...sorry." I said.
I walked out with Sean, Shawn rushed towards me, but not laying a finger on me.
He had light blue hair unlike Sean, his eyes are blue, but a little bit purplish.
Mrs. White had purple hair and blackish purple eyes.
Mr. White had dark blue hair and blue eyes.
" Big sister Millie! Do you know? I just discovered my quirk last week! " Shawn exclaimed.
"hey...how come I don't know?" Sean frowned.
"Mommy told me to not tell you." The little dude said innocently.
Okay, now I wonder why.
"Show us." Sean smiled.
Shawn held out his hand, his eyes glowed white.
A mini neon sword came out.
" Mom said that these could be weapons once I master them." He smiled.
"SHAWN! " someone yelled.
The little guy jumped and turned around slowly, "M..mom? "
" What have I been telling you! You didn't listen to anything I said, did you! " She yelled, stomping towards us.

The Chronicles of Artharian Dagworth
Back in 2020 there were many theories on how the world would end. From the many religions apocalypses, nuclear wars that would leave the planet inhabitable, global warming doing the same, biological weapons getting out of control, viruses mutating into unstoppable diseases to the dead raising to prey on humanity, either due to a virus or just because hell filled up. Also, aliens, from the war mongering kind to the ones so advanced they didn’t see us as more than worms. And of course there was the fail proof theory that the world would end when the sun died. In a bunch of billion years give or take. Althougth some new scientist were discussing if the end would be on the take side, since when the sun started dying things would go haywire on the entire solar system and we would collide with mercury or maybe mars way before the expanding sun engulfed earth. But I digress… Now, those were the mainstream theories that the everyday Joe, who didn’t know the big secret, worried about. So, if you were to ask me which theory was correct I can tell you that I haven’t seen any little green man, at least not from another planet, and so far the sun is still shining, although it’s been only 9 years since everything went to hell, not the few billions (give or take) the scientist predicted, so that one isn’t ruled out yet. These two aside, I'd say all of them. Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at writing. I have been planning to do it for a really long time, and while this is not the one epic fantasy idea I ever wanted to write, I think it's a good one. The plan is to write an end of the world urban-fantasy series. Think a world like Dresden Files, Alex Verus, Iron druid, where magic is real but exist hidden from society meets the apocalypse. It will be written in first person in the Dresden Files style, no plans for other POV for now. As you probally alredy guessed from my style, english is not my first langague, so while google corrector helps, expect grammar errors, and I'd be gratefull for anyone to point them. I plan to write 2 to 3 chapters a week, 2000-4000 words each. Might change as I get more experience and depends on my free time. Cover image from the colections of getwallpapers.com

The tags selected at the making of this novel should, therefore, be considered as being "possibilities" instead of promises. I will try and remain open to changing tags and the direction of this story based on feedback, as I hope to create something that can be enjoyed by as many people as possible. So, again, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
