Taking his arm from around Mrs. Daphnia and taking Alfred and Madison by the shoulders, Mancin said sternly “Now I told you both, but mainly you Madison that he needed rest and not to bother him.”
Madison looking offended she said “dad, how could you say that about me I am not a bother?”
"Really, Maddy let's go I'm sure Kyle will love talking to you after he gets better and the okay from your mother." Alfred said as he pulled Madison towards the door.
Turning halfway around as she was dragged from the room. Madison looked at me and said, " it was nice meeting you Kyle I'm sure we're going to be great friends, forgive Alf for being standoffish he isn't mean, he's just stuffy."
Then they were gone, leaving me with only the Hayward couple and awkward silence. Broken by the swish of Mrs. Daphnia's forest green robe, as she gracefully strode to my bedside.
Taking a seat next to me, she said. " I'm sorry about my daughter, she has always been a bit of a firecracker, but she gets it from her father."
Mr. Mancin gave his wife an affronted look as He said. " Oh she gets it from me, does she. I quite clearly, remember someone. Hexing a whole dorm full of students for calling her roses gaudy."
Shooting her husband a glare She said. " how could you bring up that old story, I think I remember a certain someone attempting to burn a man's guild house down because he said something rude about his wife."
Looking embarrassed, He said, "Daphnia, my love, we could go down memory lane all day. but we're here for you to check out Kyle."
Their playful banter helped me release the tension; I had been feeling. I couldn't help but laugh, Catching my breath. I said, "Mrs. Daphnia, are you the healer Mr. Mancin said he was going to get?

Mrs. Daphnia turned to me giving me a smile she said " that's better not so tense, Kyle there is no need to call us Mr. or Mrs. just using our names will do, and yes I am. I was raised by the Nature faction of the guild Coven and am a plant witch. Let's just say I have quite a few spells, in my arsenal for healing among other things.
Not knowing what that all means. I said, "Wow, that sounds amazing!"
Letting out a pleased laugh. She said, "I wouldn't go as far as to say amazing, but it has gotten me out of some tough situations. Now let's see if we can find out what's going on with you, shall we?"
She was staring at me deeply, and before I knew what was going on. I was glowing, in all sorts of different shades of green. It just kept getting brighter until all I saw was green. I felt myself starting to panic again, but before I could set into a full-blown panic attack. A soothing wave flowed through me. I felt myself falling than a snapping sensation. Then everything returned to normal, I could see normally again, and I wasn't glowing.
Her hand fell from my shoulder as. She said, "I apologize, I didn't realize how sensitive you would be too mana. On the other hand, I have good news and bad news, which would you like to hear first?"
With my fingers grinding into my palms. I said, "Umm, tell me the bad news first, then the good."
Patting me on the leg, she said " there's no reason to worry, the bad news is I couldn't figure out what exactly happened to cause your scaring. I did, however, find that the scarring is healing quite fast. Most likely, due to the fact that you have o.m.s, which is short for over-mana-saturation. In easier terms to understand, your body had a large amount of mana shoved into it.

Human bodies just aren't meant to hold mana naturally. So when your body was forced to bear such a large amount of mana. Instead of burning up, it tried to pass it through as safely as possible. Leaving you with internal scarring and a bad case of heightened mana sensitivity, you're quite lucky most people die from o.m.s.."
Coughing gruffly Mancin said, " dear, your rambling and probably scarring poor Kyle here."
Looking embarrassed, Daphnia said, "oops, I'm so sorry, I tend to ramble on when it comes to anything to do with healing."
Hurrying to reassure her I said, " no, no, it's not a problem, I'm just glad it's not permanent, and I'll get better.. I will get better right?"
The couple was shooting looks at each other, silently communicating, what I don't know, but it made my stomach feel hollow.

What is your answer?’ Tus heard the ancient voice that sounded like sandpaper as he stared at the altar with the land and sky frozen in motion. The words repeated themselves over and over again, forcing him to answer without the chance of taking it back. Armed with a borrowed sword and cheap armor that looked like wood, he said aloud without hesitation, “Yes!” The altar hummed, a green light flickered in the surroundings, and Tus ceased to exist.

Crimson Gloom
Crimson Gloom. The time when the moon turns crimson, illuminating the landscape with its crimson glow. The time when the ‘doors’ to the Crimson Abyss open. One shall gaze into the abyss and gain its secrets and powers. Concurrently, the abyss also gazes into oneself, gaining one’s sanity and humanity. Dimensional rifts appeared spontaneously on Earth, bringing otherworldly demons along with the Crimson Gloom. Bloody battles were fought, noble sacrifices were made. Humans eventually sealed the rifts and successfully defended their homeworld. Alas, the seals were not perfect. The Crimson Abyss continued to exist, slowly influencing Earth and its inhabitants. Half a century of relatively uneventful years passed… humanity slowly descended into corruption, and the majority of them knew nothing of the effects of the Crimson Abyss. Is there only the dreadful gloom left to the world? Can one find brightness in the increasingly gloomy world? The youth who had gazed into the Crimson Abyss had no answer, nor did he care. He only wanted the Crimson Gloom to end, to forever seal the Crimson Abyss. A mistake and a twist of fate led the youth into a seemingly totally different direction. Will he forget his lifelong goal? Will he instead step back onto his initial path that he fervently pursued? Disclaimer: I do not own the image on the cover. Image edited on canva.com.
