The violent mass of rithing mana battred at the field, the proctor had cast. Powerful waves rolled through the south crux, causing loose chunks of stone to fly around. With his robes being blown back by the force of the collision.
Sparing a glance for Yerian, and Mentia the proctor said, “I don’t know how much longer the faraday cage can last. I didn't expect the explosive force to be so strong, one of you should contact the academy, tell them we need either two more third tier magi, or one fourth tier magus.”
Streams of mana flowing through the air, arcing from the three Magi to the faraday cage, holding the ever growing mass mana within.
Sweat dripping down his brow from over exertion, yerian said, “Mential, i’ll help hold the field while you contact the academy.”
Cutting off his mana flowing through the connection to the faraday cage, Mential Said, “Okay, but who should I ask for?”
Without giving it a second thought Yerian said, “Ask for Henrick, he should be able to get the people we need.”
Hands shaking from exhaustion, pulling an orb from his spatial focus, and injecting his mana into it. Mential said, “Connect me to Henrick.” As Mentrial’s mana coursed through the viewing orb. Grey static filled its depth.
A nasaly voice said, “Henrick, who? I’m sorry sir i’m going to need your identification number.”
Before Mential could start yelling at the person at the other end of the viewing orb. A high pitched whine came from the giant orb of mana floating in the south crux. The glowing lights of the violent mana within it flared, as a crack began to spread up the side of the faraday cage. Pushing more of his mana into the faraday cage, trying to seal up the crack caused by the growing force of the volatile mana. The proctor said, “Their not going to make it in time. I'm going to release my hold on the top of the faraday cage, to get rid of the built up pressure. Prepare yourselves as best you can.”

Flipping his hands in a circular motion, releasing a short chant. The top of the faraday cage flashed, thin threads of mana released opening a gap. But before it could open all the way, the volatile mana burst through the small opening, shattering the top of the glasslike orb. As the giant pillar of purple mana, shot into the sky dispersing the clouds overhead. The bottom of the faraday cage shattered from the polarizing force of the volatile beam of mana. Hidden within the wave of force that spread from the explosion, was a wave of resentment, spreading throughout the south slums.
Luckily most of the mana was focused upwards, so the resentment lacked a source of power to cause any harm, except to those sensitive to such energies. Out of the hundreds of people in the radius of the projected resentment only two had such ability.
The scrapers surrounding the groups of trial participants, began to screech, crying out in agony. Small cracks spread over their bodies, as they fell to the ground, writhing. The trail froze in shock from the scene, only a few of them had time to throw up barriers. Before the writhing scrapers writhing burst, Exploding into flames, throwing violet-fiery mucus across their surroundings. Screams of pain rang out from almost half of the trial takers, who were closer to the scrapers.
I was beyond shocked by what just happened, what had caused the scrapers to explode. Looking at all the trial participants, who were covered in patches of flickering globules of fiery mucus. Almost every trial taker who wasn’t injured, thanks to their distance from the scrapers, or had the intuition to put shield. Began to pull out healing potions, salvs of varying colors. As I reached for the person nearest me, pulling a healing potion from my spatial focus.

Without any warning, I tipped over hitting the dusty-stone under my feet, face first. My head felt like something or maybe someone was trying to shove a red-hot iron poker into it. I felt my body convulse as i heard the sounds of screeching, and scratching. My heart heaved, from what felt like the force of a sledgehammer hit my mind. Choking, something in my mind snapped, searing pain flashed through my mind, than an icy coolness replaced it, my vision went black.
Outside the border separating the south slum from the rest of the free city. Marge Heastry saw her husband freeze, spoon midway to his mouth. Keeling over, hitting the ground spoon flying from his grasp. His body convulsing, flailing about, as white foam seeped from his mouth, eyes bloodshot from pain.
Letting out a scream, rushing to his side Marge said, “Dear! What's wrong, wake up! Dillion!”
After several minutes of constant shaking, his body stilled. Marge leaning over him, weeping, she failed to notice the change in his eyes. As they reflected a violet light, before returning to their normal-brown color.
