《Phantasmagoria》5. Judgement

Since I don’t think I explained it correctly last chapter, let me clarify: Lily sees every flower blue, but at the same time she knows which colour it really is. For example, she sees a blue rose, but instantly knows it’s a yellow rose. If asked which colour it is, she’ll say blue (her hallucinations are in shades from white to a dark blue, almost black) but if she were to draw the flower, she’ll use the real colour. I’ll put the real colour of the flower in square parentheses if I know I won’t be able to make Lily say it.
I sat on the couch as I drew the beautiful blue orchid I saw at the entrance of my house. Today was very cold, so dad gave me a warm blanket and was preparing me some hot chocolate, even if he was busy. He and mother were talking in the kitchen with Ashley, who came to visit us a merry christmas. I found it a bit strange, it was still a long way before christmas, I think.
During the past seven days (which I discovered was how many days were in a week!) I spent a lot of time with mom and dad going around town while holding hands, buying cute clothes and undergarments, visiting the zoo and lunapark and watching films at the cinema while eating popcorns. Mother cooked various delicious things for me, which she said were quite healthy and useful for my recovery. Still, every day I had to make various exercises, like jogging, lifting weights and stretching, and also visit Ashley.
When I first came back home, it felt so familiar and yet so different that I was disoriented. The only thing that hadn’t changed a bit was my room, or so mom said. Even though I had my own room, I’ve only been sleeping in the big bed with mom and dad, they were the ones to ask me to do so, but frankly, I didn’t want to sleep alone. I was sure I’d remember john. Olly said to forget about John and Carl, she said some guy called S. Tate already took care of them and that I’ll never see them again.

I paid a visit to Olly yesterday, dad brought me to her house. It was really big! It had a spacious kitchen which also doubled as a dining room, two bedrooms, one with a big bed, like the one in mom and dad’s room, while the other was half the first’s size. The guest room, how Olly called it, was quite clean with everything being in order, but it lacked that personal touch you’d feel in other people’s rooms. Other than a big brown wardrobe and a white bedside table with a metallic-coloured lamp on it, there was only the gray bed and pillow along with a medium-sized window that showed the backyard.
Olly’s room was quite messy. The dull magenta coloured blanket over the bed was still tangled and all over the place over the mattress. Some clothes were on the floor and a door of the white wardrobe (which occupied an entire wall) was open. There was an identical bedside table on each side of the bed, both an aquamarine green, with a vibrant green lamp, along three books, on one and some photos and knick-knacks, along with an ashtray and a pack of cigarettes, on the other. Gray curtains hid a big window behind, this one offering a better view of the garden in the backyard.

A Beginner's Guide to Napping, Sunbathing, and Slaughtering Your Prey
Fang is a simple cat. Fang likes napping in the sun. Fang does not like being called Chairman Meow. Fang likes his belly being scratched for precisely 17.329 seconds. Fang does not like being punted between dimensions. Fang likes hunting and killing defenseless wildlife. Fang does not like mysterious blue boxes that appear out of thin air. Fang is having a Very Bad Day. A few things to note: Fang is a cat soul in a cat body, and that's not going to change any time soon. No cat girl evolution or possessed puppet or any of that. The slice of life tag is there for a reason. There is no epic tale here, only a cat doing cat things in a (hopefully) interesting setting. The game elements are pretty light, mostly there for flavor, so don't expect a huge amount of crunch. Nature is cruel, and cats are crueler than most.

Transformers: Heroes
Heroic Decepticons Alternate Universe. A century ago, the eons-old war between the Autobots and the Decepticons suddenly and inexplicably came to an end. Since then, many have gone their separate ways, whilst others still hold onto the bitter memories of war. Now, as Autobots and Neutrals join forces in a new directive to capture every Decepticon still left alive, it appears that the Autobots will finally get their chance to even the score, and defeat their enemies once and for all. But when they become the target of seemingly random, yet terrifying attacks, some begin to realize that the enemy may be much closer to home than anyone could have ever imagined. Author's Notes: While it helps to have a little bit of prior knowledge about the world of Transformers, you don't need to be a Transformers fan to enjoy this story, or even a Decepticons fan! One thing I can say for sure is that it is unlike any Transformers fan fiction you've ever come across. This story aims to explore one possible set of motivations in depth in a setting of ongoing conflict between the Autobots (and, more recently, the Alliance - a collaboration between Autobots and Neutrals) and the Decepticons. Although this story takes a lot of things from the G1 cartoon, it is by no means strictly G1 toon oriented and introduces characters and/or ideas from other continuities (Sentinel Prime, Jhiaxus, Thunderblast and Rook (not the Autobot Rook - the other Rook!). Set primarily on Cybertron and Alternity City, it also deviates from certain key elements common in Transformers canon. For one thing, the general consensus that all Autobots are good and all Decepticons are bad is challenged, and a new meaning to the motivations behind their conflict is offered (which is a recurring theme in my Heroic Decepticons Alternate Universes). Some personalities have been altered from their canonical profiles as a necessity (Megatron being the most obvious example) and developed to a much deeper level than the original cartoon allowed. I hope you enjoy and thanks for reading.

The Animo Saga
Before history was well-recorded in the world of Ulakam, primordial animal spirits adopted humans, provided protection and developed deep spiritual connections with them. Millennia later, humans now host animal spirits and are split into tribes named for the species they host. Ulakam is slowly being consumed by a decades-long war pitting the main tribes against the smaller tribes and a group of bandits calling themselves "the resistance". Callida Animo was born into this world. Coming from a mixed family of generational soldiers, Callida joined the family business at a young age. In her words, she was practically bred, born, and raised to be a soldier. And she's good at what she does... which inevitably attracts attention that makes her unambitious self extremely uncomfortable. Love, loss, influence and growth. This is her story. Written episodically, this story focuses on relationships and character growth through a series of mini-arcs that connect to make a greater whole. (Honestly, the story would lend itself well to a TV series.) "Episodes" range from 3-7 chapters (at least so far), and average about 4 or 5 chapters. Author's note: I'm always thrilled to receive comments, follows, ratings/reviews, messages.... All forms of feedback are welcome and encouraged. However, I have no interest in begging readers for more engagement to get better visibility. I tried that with my last story and found the game soul-sucking. So! This constitutes my only self-promotion request. If you are reading this story, let me know what you think! I love engaging with my readers. We'll see if growing the readership organically is even possible. Thank you! 😘 Release schedule: Weekly on Wednesday afternoons
