《My life in another world - isekai》4. Life in Sektar

It has been four years since my reincarnation and I still feel weird about it. In these four eyes, I was able to gather a bunch of information regarding this world and its languages which will probably come in handy later on. Right now, the white ones are living in a snowy range of mountains, the climate is really harsh but if you can get used to it, this style of life has some beautiful aspects to it. So now about my race, the white ones have a lifespan several times longer than that of normal humans, this is because of all the mana that our bodies absorb during our childhood years, which supposedly have a great beneficiary effect. Our skin is a bit white-ish although I would rather call it grey-blue. Most of my people have a great amount of stamina and mp. Oh, by the way, the white ones are not exactly nomads, they have cities in which they settled down, they are quite developed and are also extremely good merchants. I didn't think that would have been the case as initially our race, is a fighting type race, but oh well. anyway, I discovered that there is a main common language in Sektar, that is used in most kingdoms as the official language, but there are also all the other languages of the races. yes… every race has a different language besides the common one, even we do, although our's doesn't differ that much from the common one. The elves share one with the dark elves although they aren't living together. I believe their case is similar to our’s and normal humans. Now about the kingdoms. I won't dwell in the politics too much because I couldn't get most of it either, but as it seems there are currently four kingdoms in Sektar and a bunch of other smaller communities and lesser-countries. The three main kingdoms are all located in the middle regions of Sektar and they are all on fairly good terms with each other. I understood that there is an enormous dungeon that spreads all underground the middle regions, and it has only one entrance that is at the only mountain found in the middle regions, it is also the residence of the Dragonkin we talked about with goddess-sama. If I got it correctly the humans need to ask permission from the Dragonkin to enter the dungeon but for the last few hundreds of years there has been pact between the three kings and the Dragonkin leader, that lets the humans use the dungeon as they like as long as the Dragonkin are left alone. Well, this is all the info I could get… not like I could read the language so don't blame me if this is not enough. Anyway, it looks like my fifth birthday party is being held tomorrow and apparently they decided to make me take the childhood passing trial a year early.

By the way, goddess sama isn't completely truthful, my mother is a beautiful elf who lived for more than 300 years, so I believe that truly, I am a half-elf and half white one in reality. My parents use this as an excuse whenever I beat an older kid in the fighting tournaments. These tournaments are allegedly supposed to mark your standing in society, but they are all practice until you turn 16. Back to my birthday party. Our house is a one-story building made of a special alloy called obsidian, which is extremely hard, and difficult to process. Luckily the white ones are the only race that has mastered its processing and we use that bargaining chip a lot of transactions and what not. Our house has a dark outside but inside it's completely different. To mask the outside sheet of obsidian that is apparently only used as a shield, inside the house they use concrete, wood, and normal materials, creating a normal - looking European house. Our house has four rooms, my bedroom, my parent’s bedroom, the lounge and the kitchen. all bathroom activities are done in a separate building outside. then in the corner of the lounge, there is a small set of stairs that lead down to the bathing area. Strangely, the lounge is directly connected to a cave with thermal water. Now we are all gathered in the lounge around a big table where we usually eat. “Son, tomorrow you will perform the childhood passing ritual, I know that it is a year early but I believe that our Gorrad will have no problem at all.” - “Yes father, please let me.” (oh by the by, Gorrad is my new name here on this world, which also means: fire warrior in the ancient tongue). “I understand your high esteem towards your son Dion, but I don’t want my son to get killed because of that” - said with a dissatisfied expression Melfia, my mother. “that is not the case dear, our son has shown his extreme capabilities, I believe that we would only hinder his growth by not letting him do the ritual early”. - “Is that so” - said, mother, while giving up. I go there and hold her hand, look up to her in the eyes and say: “mother, thank you for worrying about me, but I believe what dad said to be correct, please let me do it.” - I already knew that she had given up, but I didn't want to end things just like that, after all, she had always supported me through these five years. “yes, I understand Gorrad. You might become an even greater warrior than your father- My dad let out a big laugh, but my mother continued - but this doesn't mean that I won't be your mother anymore, so I will always worry about you, make sure to come back.” - “Yes, mother”. Her blonde hair is as pretty as always, I think while taking in everything that she said with gratitude. Now, what is this trial that we have been talking about? well, I gotta adventure out of town and wyvern cub or a wild blue bear. They are both extremely dangerous animals when grown up but if I only have to fight them as cubs, my chances of success rise exponentially. First of all, don't mistake me, the average human won't even survive 30 seconds while fighting one these, it is only because we are sturdy as a race, and of my intensive training that I am able to face these two. The wyvern will probably be around my height and won't be able to fly yet as the mating season was only a few weeks back, but if I will have to fight a blue bear, then he will most likely be two times my height, which is quite frightening. Well, I’ll see what I can do tomorrow, for now, I should practice controlling my mana flow, which I started learning about at four years old when I was finally able to read the characters of the common language.

Myth of The World's Trees
And Simon answered their call with a single statement that nobody understood "Et super mos absit hoc hodie!" "Yah!" "WWWaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" "AAAlllllaaaaallllaaaaallllaaaa!" "EeEEellllleeeeeelllllleeeeeeuuuuuuu!" I, too, yelled a battle cry at the top of my lungs. I had no idea what Simon had just spouted but from Camilla's giggling, I could guess that Simon thought that spouting nonsense was his way of getting out of the earlier predicament. "I forbid death upon this day," Camilla said. "What?" I answered a bit at a loss. "Ancient Latin," she replied smugly, "He said 'I forbid death upon this day'." I laughed aloud "Then he is gonna be really disappointed in everyone here," Camilla did not reply and instead took a deep breath. I did the same, zoning out everything in my surroundings. The environment became a world of electrical pulses traveling across several networks. I perceived the world through my lightning and sped my heartbeat to inhuman levels. I was present now, at this moment, at this point in time. I could feel the electrifying air saturating my lungs, the electrified ground vibrating at the rhythm of the approaching enemy. Then I took a step forward, everyone followed in tandem. Camilla the first, and then the others. Then I took a second step, and this time everyone followed simultaneously. Third step… Fourth step… Fifth step… Then light jogging… Speeding up… Running … Running faster…. Then suddenly, everyone disappeared into motes of light particles that re-constructed itself hundreds of feet above the horde, dozens of miles away from our initial position. We were literally 'diving' into battle.-------------------------------------------------------------------Despite a rough childhood in the slums, Omari had everything a guy could want - a loving girlfriend, an understanding sister, a wonderful teacher, and his dream job. Still, the scars from his childhood made Omari unable to live a dull life. He dreamed of something greater... something beyond the reaches of what humankind could achieve in the current era.Like always, Omari should have been careful what he wished for. In the year 2046, the World was thrown into chaos as the apocalypse came in the form of massive trees that shot up out of the ground one day. These trees towered over the tallest of buildings and had thicknesses that spanned kilometers at a time. They grew everywhere, in homes, businesses, and cities as they formed a complex network that overlayed the old world. The cause of the apocalypse was unknown, but Omari's workplace was believed to be the origin point of the unfortunate events.Fifteen years after the start of the Apocalypse... after all the pain and suffering... after losing everything he cared about, Omari sent his memories back in time to make sure that the future he lives in, never came to be.Will he be able to uncover the mystery of The Trees? Will he be able to protect all those he has lost? Will he succeed, or will his attempt be washed away by the currents of time?
