While the passenger plane he is in going down he thinks to himself. "Am I regretful?" His answer is no. He did everything in his power to reach the things he desired. Yet he failed. He was an ugly orphan boy when he was born. While living a miserable life in terrible foster homes and streets he managed to work and study at the same time. He finished his schools including university via distance education.
The plane trembled, people cried and screamed. He just sits there with acceptance. Knowing he did everything in his power to reach the things he desired. He wanted to be loved but being ugly was a big problem. He is always rejected by a woman. He never blamed them. But nether he did blame himself.
He worked hard and smart yet because of his lack of proper social skills due to getting raised by lower-class people who usually bullied him and general unattractiveness due to genetics steal his opportunity to rise through the corporate ladder.
He has only been able to become a mid-level manager. When he was 36 years old, single, virgin, and relatively rich, he decided to give up trying to rise and go to settle some country living in is cheaper.
He was going to live a life of gaming, reading, watching, living with his passive income. A dream come through for many, but for him, it was just a consolation prize.
Yet, this ought not to be. This was the end. The plane he is in is going down.
* * *
He opened his eyes. "What?" he said to himself. Near a giant tree, a green hand brings him out of the ground. He was with a lot of young green man, he was a green man, or a boy would be more appropriate. A dark green dude bustling with muscles brought him out of the ground.
He looked at him lovingly, 3 other green boys were looking 12-13 year old by human standards. He said to them "My boys. I am Kalra, your father. And you are my litter. I expect you would be great warriors, defend our mother, grow in strength with honor.
The information appeared in his head. He belongs to a group called forest orcs. A magical offshoot of plain orcs. This was a world of magic and tier system.
He heard a loving soft voice in his head. "My sons I am your mother, the mother dryad. All of you, so cute, you fill my heart with unbound happiness." All orc boys turned to the great tree. She said "Whenever you want to talk to me I will hear you. Never hesitate, you might think with me having hundreds of children you are not special, but no, every single one is special. I love all of you." He felt a warm tingling inside, he both loved it and feared it at the same time. The first time someone called him things like "my boy, my son" lovingly, but his untrusting nature made him fear it. He thought it might be fake to use him for nefarious purposes.

His new father hands them down some shirts and pants nicely made from a low-quality brown fabric. Cloths nicely fit.
Kalra speaks up "Here come here to be named my sons." He calls sign him to come first he hugs him and kisses him on the forehead and says "Now, your name is Shadik, for short Shad, Shadik son of Kalra"
One by one Shad's other brothers got their names, Terro, Patha, Salgor.
Kalra said, "Kids I want you to concentrate, and feel, feel your strengths weaknesses and tell me what they are." Shad knew this was the status screen part from isekai novels, but they had a tier system instead of a level or a grade one.
Shad concentrated, he felt his stats, there was no screen. Just Feeling.
Shadik Orc Assasin Tier: 0
Stats:
Strenght: 0.8 Agility: 0.8 Toughness: 0.5 Vitalty: 0.5 Vitalty Reg: 0.5
Stamina: 0.7 Stamina Reg: 0.7 Mana: 0.2 Mana Reg: 0.2 Perception: 0.8
Dexterity: 0.7 Calculation: 1.9
Skills:
Stealth: 0.9 Tracking: 0.5
Melee combat: 0.6, Dual Blades: 0,6 Hand to hand: 0.3
Ranged combat: 1.9 Crossbows: 1.9
Kalra asked them about their classes and skills, Shadik listened to his brothers, one of them was a warrior tier 0 other was an archer tier 0 and the other is a shaman tier 0 All of their stats and skills were below 1.
He guessed his stat in the calculation and his ranged combat skill and crossbow skill is this high because of his past life. Probably his skill in gun usage turned into crossbow skill. Which give him general ranged combat skill. And him being very good at math made his calculation stat to be very high.
So he didn't tell those to the Kalra. Kalra turned to a young orc named Salgor. He said to him "You, son, you are a warrior like me, you will train with me." He pointed to his other children to follow him. They walked a short distance. There were many other orc younglings around.
He showed a guy thin for an orc "You Shadik, you will train with Sarchi, he is a tier 4 assassin and one of the most powerful orcs in our clan. I am only a tier 3 warrior. Lucky for you he had his children same time as me and we agreed to train each other children in our respective arts."
Sarchi welcomed him with a nod. Two other guys were waiting for their training too. He said "The assassin class is not that common, I don't think there would be another in this year's litter. But we still have to wait for all the fathers to receive their children."
As Sarchi guessed there was no other. Sarchi said "This year there were 50 new orc younglings from 9 different fathers. I had 8 sons this year. The number of children you can have decided by the food and services you provided to mother dryad." He turned to Shad "For example, your father worked 20 years to have his first-ever litter of children."

Shad nodded, so they were a society of orcs live around the forest providing food and security to mother dryad and she provided nearly adult intelligent orc younglings to them. According to their success in doing their duty, they get to have children. So strong orcs like Sarchi had many children's and relatively weaker ones like Kalra had less.
In primitive societies the number of children someone had a huge effect on their status. Shad thought "So the survival of the fittest. The stronger orcs get to have more children."
Sarchi started his lesson "You born with much information but for my sake, I am going to teach you like you know nothing. So for sure I know we are all on the same page. We assassins are stealth fighters. We have a heavy punch but have no staying power on the battlefield. Why? Because our vitality, vitality reg, and toughness are weak."
One of the children ask "I know we can improve our stats, can't we just improve those stats?" Sarchi said "the stats most important for you are the stats which you need to get next tier on your job. For an assassin, those are strength, agility, dexterity, perception, stamina, and stamina reg. You also need to bring your Stealth and whatever your melee combat skill is to the next tier level too. And believe me when you get all those over the tier 1 level which means 1.0 and over you will just want to get the next tier.
The forest orc town is made from wooden buildings between trees. Town or village had few hundred adult orcs, all of them wearing simple clothes and weird silver shaped arm rings with small various colored gems attached to them.
Wooden buildings were nicely made and were seamlessly blend into the forest. Every orc man, which was every single one looked like bodybuilders give the younglings warm welcoming smiles. Not just that they said things like "Good fate to you young brothers, welcome among us brothers." and here and there some orc comes out with various meats and fruits at hand. Just gifted them to the boys.
There was no woman but they were come out of a tree root and Shad guessed everybody here was a son of the tree. The orc village, people here so friendly it could be called a smurf village with big muscular green smurfs, and without Smurfette.
He started to warm up to the orc people soon, he was an ugly orphan kid when he was a human, no one showed him any decency when he was young. He felt much more appreciation for the orcs, especially the moment he saw himself in some drinking basin.
He said to himself "I am ugly, again." Orcs were although different with their protruding lover canines and differently shaped big holed noses from humans. They looked similar enough to have similar beauty standards. And he was ugly again.
He had a big nose and small eyes deep in the eye holes. He had a skeletal-like terrifying face and he was skinny for an orc, like all the other orc assassins. Shad cursed his luck. Although here he needed not to worry too much about it. In there end there were no females to coax.
Just a tree, which was his mother. He told himself "This is a different species many times." He never had any Oedipus complex, he didn't even have a mother he knew before made that him having an Oedipus complex just impossible but... And forest orcs had the worst case of the Oedipus complex. Their mother and their son's mother was the same tree.
Everything was made from wood the only exception was the blacksmith made out of stone.
In the blacksmith, there was a guy even big for an orc with a 2-meter height. The average orc had a height of around 1.85 to 1.95. what made them big was their muscular frame.
The orc blacksmith gives them a big smile. He said "welcome young assassins. I was waiting for you, just say to me your preferred weapon and I will bring it to you." One of the assassins got a short spear other get daggers and throwing knives. When the Shad turn came he said "Dual blades." On that point, a sorrowful smile appeared on his face.
He said, "Wait kid, I have a perfect set of weapons for you." He brought back a dual short sabres. From black steel. The blacksmith said "These were my sons, I made these for him. He died when..." Sarchi shook his head signaling blacksmith to shut up.
He nodded and said "Just know this, the accursed adventurers killed him. I am not going to take this blade's cost from your father. The day you killed an adventurer is the day you paid me for the cost.
Shad had his dual short sabers. There were a simple design and black. Sarchi brings them out of the town and into the forest. The training going to begin.
