《Shaking the world》Chapter 3: Academy Life (Part 1)

In front of a tall stone building a young girl yawned lazily and sat in boredom. “Hey sis how many new students do you think will arrive this time?” The young girl was fitted up into a light silver chest plate, a brown animal like battle skirt and dark brown leather boots. Stationed on her back lay two sheathed swords of elven design. Her sharp pointed ears signified her elven ancestry and were adorned in a silver ear piece engraved with a dragon’s image. Her shoulder length blonde hair flowed effortlessly in the wind as her emerald green sparkled with a carefree light.
A similar older looking girl in traditional green and brown ranger clothes stood next to the young girl. At her waist hung a silver dagger and on her back sat a sturdy elven made bow and arrows. “Considering the recent trend I’d say at least one made it through the examination.”
“Only one? That’s kinda disappointing.” Hearing her sister’s thoughts the young girl couldn’t help but pout.”
Seeing her younger sister’s expression the older sister couldn’t help but think she looked quite cute. “What’d you expect? Humans just aren’t cut out to be mage knights.”
“What about Kira?”
Hearing that dreadful name the older sister couldn’t help but freeze up as she remembered the demon who challenged 4 official mage knights to a duel and left them all in a comatose state by the end of her first day. “That girl can’t be describe through average means.”
Seeing her sister’s serious face, the younger sister couldn’t help but tease her. “I’m thinking of challenging her to a duel when she comes back.”
“DON’T!!” Hearing her little sister’s words the older sister couldn’t help but start to panic.
Watching her sister’s panic ridden face, the young girl couldn’t help but fall into a fit of laughter. “I’m just kidding, no way in hell I’d challenge that freak! I still value my life.”
“Hey, do you hear that?” in the distance an eagle’s cry could be heard. “I think they’re here, want to go check it out?”
“Sure, I want to see what kind of person could win killer Kira’s approval.”

…
On top of the eagle Daelos could see the island much clearer now that they were descending. In the middle of the island stood a large academy building similar to the one’s he was used to back in his world but with a more fantasy like aesthetic.
Surrounding the academy were club buildings and stalls selling a variety of items. At the back of the academy a large arena could be seen in the middle of the courtyard. On the ground below people as young as 18 were strolling around the campus trading and buying lunch from food stalls.
Once the eagle landed at the edge of the island, Egon jumped down like he’d been here a hundred times. Slowly a crowd started to form around the eagle as many male and female students looked up at them. For some reason Daelos felt like they were really just there to stare at Kira. I get she’s pretty and all but isn’t this crowd a bit to big!
Amidst the crowd several whispers could be heard.
“Killer Kira’s back.”
“Didn’t the council banish her.”
“I heard she was assigned the role of examiner as punishment.”
“She probably killed all the candidates.”
“Look someone just jumped down!”
Hearing the whispers. Daelos couldn’t help but look a Kira with a confused look. “Killer Kira?”
“Ignore them.” Not bothered by the whispers and glares she received, Kira grabbed him by the hand and jumped off the eagle’s back. “I’ll show you around the campus.”
“What about Egon?”
“He seems to be doing just fine.”
Looking towards Egon’s position, one could see him being surrounded by a river of girls.
“First thing you should know about this academy is that the majority of the students are made up of elves or those with elven descent.”
That explains the lack of humans.
“What about beast-men?”
“Beast men lack the talent to become mage-knights, so they instead train they’re bodies to become knights.”
Walking around the campus Daelos discovered that the small buildings surrounding the academy were actually club buildings and the place where items were being sold was called the student market.

“What about the other two islands?”
“The island on the right is the student dorms. Male and female dormitories are separated to both sides of the island and the breakfast hall in situated in the middle.”
“Haven’t any male students tried to sneak into the female dorm?”
“Ha! Those who tried are either dead or traumatised.”
“Dead?”
“It’s one of the academy rules, if any male students are found in the female dorms then the female students are allowed to do whatever they want with them if they’re captured. Killing included.”
A strained smile couldn’t help but surface. “Seems a bit extreme wouldn’t you say.”
“The academy is training future mage knights, if you can’t even escape the pursuit of a couple of female students then the academy resources are wasted on you.”
“But aren’t the female students receiving the same resources?”
“The island on the left is where the library is located.”
Did she just ignore me?
“The library contains all sorts of information ranging from history to mage knight techniques.”
Looks like I’ll have to pay a visit to the library in order to gather more information about this world.
“And with that said, this concludes your tour. Tomorrow is the introduction assembly for new students so you should probably go find your dorm room.”
“I guess I’ll see you later then.”
“Definitely!”
After saying his goodbyes to Kira, Daelos headed towards the back of the academy and towards the dormitory island.
“Did you get all that?”
Lyla’s voice sounded out inside his head. “You mean the part of you wanting to sneak into the girls dormitory.”
“How did you only manage to hear that part!”
Giggling to herself Lyla couldn’t help but want to tease him. “I’m only kidding. But what she said about the library does interest me.”
“Same here, when I get the chance, we’ll investigate it.”
“Yeah. By the way you promised me you’d explain what happened during the entrance exam.”
“Oh yeah. So what do you want to know.”
“How did you eliminate Egon’s attacks?”
“In my world we have this ability where we can feel the vibrations around us. Ever since I arrived here I’ve been trying to sync with this world’s vibrational frequency. After training with you every night I’d wait until you returned to the Agnos Requiem to start my own independent training. It’s only recently that I’ve been able to cover my palms in vibrational energy. But during the entrance exam I seemed to unconsciously fully sync with this world’s frequency.”
“But that still doesn’t explain how you destroyed Egon’s attacks.”
“Saying I destroyed his attacks is giving me to much credit. All I did was vibrate the particles holding the attacks together until they dispersed.”
“Could you explain it to me in a way I’d understand.”
This is why I didn’t want to explain it to her.
*Sigh*
“Imagine that Egon’s attack is a very big stick that he was hitting me with it. All I did was break that stick into small pieces then threw all the pieces in different directions. Get it?”
“I think so…you basically nullified his attack.”
“In simpler terms yes.”
Nodding to herself, Lyla thought of another question that she hadn’t thought of. “Then how did you create that fireball, I thought you had terrible control over the law of fire?”
“Oh that…I guess you could say I didn’t really use my own understanding of Laws.?
“Meaning?”
“After I dispersed the particles in Egon’s attacks, I brought back the particles that didn’t go to far and sent just reversed the flow of the attack back to him.”
“Then why was it so small?”
“I didn’t have as much particles as the initial attack.”
“I see.”
“Satisfied?”
“For now.”
“Since I answered all your questions can you answer one of mine?”
“Sure.”
“How do you think I cross this?”
In front of Daelos a large gap separating the islands stopped him from crossing over.
“Do you think you could jump it?”
“…”

Hush | on hold
"Your name?"When I stayed silent, he repeated himself. "Your name?""Jeyri." I let out quietly."And last name?""Rae...""Jeyri Rae..." He crouched down next to me and moved the hair from in front of my face, "I dislike when things get difficult, I end up doing things I'd much rather not do. Do you want to know what happened to the last person who made things difficult for me, hmm?" He asked, leaning into me. Is he talking about me calling the cops? He pressed his gun against my head and frowned, "You get it don't you?"I nodded quickly. "Good... And if you tell anyone what you saw today, I'll know." He pressed his finger against my lips and smiled, "So hush."
