Neidr appeared in his room along with a starstruck 'John.' John looked over to him and said excitedly,
"Woah! she was so cool!"[Amber]
"That's nice. I'm going to go meditate."[Neidr] Neidr walked out of the room.
"Hey! you're ignoring me, oh, he's gone."[Amber]
Neidr actually didn't need to meditate as he practiced the Trickle method. He just didn't want to talk to Amber. However, his ambitions soon turned to naught. Amber rushed after him and hollered,
"Hey! I was talking to you! If we are going to room together, shouldn't we communicate!"[Amber] Neidr turned around and watched her run up to him and made a face as if he were patiently waiting for her to show up. When she finally did, though, Neidr picked her up by the back of her shirt with one arm and started running. Amber yelped and starting berating him for something... honestly he wasn't paying attention anymore. Neidr rushed over to Liam's room and knocked three times. Amber was too busy losing her lunch to say anything and Liam's voice could be heard from behind the door.
"Who is it?" [Liam] Neidr frowned and said,
"We need to talk, people are starting to notice."[Neidr] Neidr could hear the sound of Liam rushing up to the door. He grabbed Amber's shirt with both hands and started swinging her like a police battering ram. As soon as the door shot open and Liam's nervous face filled Neidr's vision, he released the girl, and she slammed into Liam's body head first, knocking the air out of his lungs. They both went tumbling into the room, and Neidr said,
"Your new roommate, he's talkative, so you won't be bored anymore. I'll carry their stuff over later."[Neidr] With that, Neidr left. Neidr rushed over to Arrieta's room and knocked in a hurried pace. Arrieta opened her door and looked at Neidr in confusion. Neidr only said,

"Help me carry things. I'll owe you."[Neidr]
"Huh, what are you talki..."[Arrieta] Neidr rolled his eyes and picked her up in a princess carry and rushed towards his room. Being strong was really a plus. As soon as he arrived, she yelled at him,
"What the hell, Neidr! You can't just pick me up and run off with me whenever!"[Arrieta]
"Short on time."[Neidr] Neidr pointed atscattered items on 'John's side of the room and said,
"We need to move these to Liam's room."[Neidr]
"I didn't even agree ye..." [Arrieta]
"Are you going to?" [Neidr]
...
"Fine."[Arrieta] The pair grabbed as much as they could and arrived at Liam's room. When they got there, they heard a soft crying and Liam's voice comforting someone in distress. The duo ignored this and made several trips back and forth, putting all of Amber's things in a pile next to Liam's room. Neidr placed his bags on the ground and looked over to Arrieta and said,
"I'll distract him, and you'll throw all of this shit into the room using that opportunity."[Neidr] Arrieta nodded with determination and Neidr knocked on the door. Liam rushed out with a stern face and said,
"Neidr you need to learn how to treat people better, think about how John is feeling right no..."[Liam] Neidr football tackled Liam and rushed him into the room. John was shocked upon seeing this and hurriedly tried to start a spell, but he couldn't help, as he was being pelted by his own things by Arrieta.
"Damn it Neidr! I've about had enough of your ahgdkasjh"[Liam] Neidr could tell he was about to go on a tirade, so he slammed him into a wall. Seeing communication break down, Liam started to beat the shit out of Neidr's back. In response, Neidr picked him up and slammed him into the floor.

"That's all!"[Arrieta] Neidr rushed out of the room and slammed the door behind him,
"This is an official room transfer, don't try to come back. I'll set traps. BYE!"[Neidr] Arrieta and Neidr rushed away. Although Neidr's plan wasn't very clever, it should work good enough. The higher ups likely wouldn't bat an eye as long as 'John' stayed put. That was probably likely, as he had thrown her into Liam's room. According to the novel, Amber longed for companionship, so Liam was the perfect person for her to rely on. Plus, Liam had to deal with all the assassins now. Er, Liam had the opportunity to train against night attacks now, Truly, that boy should be thanking him. Once they got far enough away, Arrieta looked up and Neidr and said,
"I don't know what the hell that was about, but you owe me now, right?"[Arrieta]
"Indeed."
"Alright, you're coming with me to pick herbs in the forest expedition."[Arrieta] Neidr frowned and asked,
"Which forest?"[Neidr]
"Palersa."[Arrieta]
'fuck.' Calculating in his head, he tried to figure out what would be worse, dealing with assassins all the time, or going to Palersa forest. In the end, he didn't regret his decision. Palersa forest was fraught with danger, but he didn't have to stay there forever.
"ok"[Neidr] Arrieta leaped up in the air and pumped her fist.
"YES!"[Arrieta]
"When does the expedition set off? Where do we meet up?"[Neidr]
"Don't worry about it, head to my room after your morning training, I'll take you there."[Arrieta]
"Alright, see you later."[Neidr]
"Bye!"[Arrieta]
Neidr headed to his room, moved some of the things he bought in town about and laid clothes on the floor in strategic positions. After that, he jumped in his bed and relaxed.
"Finally alone."[Neidr] This didn't last long though as Liam ripped Neidr's door open and started to walk forcefully into his room.
"Neidr you can't jus..."[Liam]
"Not another step."[Neidr] Liam clenched his fists and he said with a stern expression,
"Do you think I'm easy to bully? If take another step what will you do?"[Liam]
"I won't do anything, the bear trap underneath the pile of clothes in front of you probably will though."[Neidr]
"Beartrap?"[Liam]
"beartrap."[Neidr]
"Why is there a beartrap under your clothes?"[Liam]
"In case someone wanted to come into my room."[Neidr] Liam let out a sigh and said,
"You can't just forcefully transfer people to my room. Think about John's feelings."[Liam]
'When the fuck did you become my life coach?' Neidr looked over at Liam and said softly,
"I wonder how Mors Cito is doing? Do you think John could help me find out?"[Neidr] Hearing this, Liam walked out of the room and yelled, "Fiend!"[Liam] as he slammed the door behind him.
Neidr chuckled and began to plan for tomorrow.

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
