《Strongest Fish-Man》Bounty Hunting

"Agh!" a pirate yelled as a blade neared him. Before he could resist, he was cut in half from his heart up.
The allies of the pirate who had just died paid him no mind. He was not the first that had died and would not be the last at the rate they were going. Their opponent was just too fierce.
"Where are the others?" yelled someone. The man wore an eye patch with one of his hands being replaced by a steel hook. This was Bobby The Bold, the captain of the Marshall Pirates who had a bounty of over 20 million Belly.
"We are the last of them, captain. He had already killed everyone else!" replied Bobby's first mate.
Bobby curse under his breath. He knew he was in a terrible situation but did not know why.
'This may be the lawless area of the archipelago but not anyone would be crazy enough to take on a crew of 50 for no reason. Just how did I manage to piss someone off this much?'
Another 2 men were cut in a single swing and their organs were sent flying all over the few surviving members. Bobby looked around and saw that he only had 5 more people beside him. He decided to try for one final push.
"Listen up! It's either he dies or we die. Charge!"
The crew knew that Bobby spoke the truth. They were all pirates and knew the rules. The strong lived while the weak died. No one would be willing to let others know that they were hunting pirates. All witnesses had to die.
Under their captain's order, all 5 men charged forward toward the fish-man that towered over them. The man swung his blade which the 5 tried to match.
'Wait. 5?' thought the first mate
He turned and saw that his captain was making a run for it. Sighing to himself, The man realized that he had been tricked. The last thing he saw was the back of the man he trusted with his life.
Bobby did not make it far. Right after he killed all the other pirates, Kisame moved at top speed and stopped in front of him. He relaxed his blade on his shoulder while looking at the captain that had wet himself.

'I'm definitely not letting you run away. This is the easiest money I can make at the moment.'
Kisame sheathed his blade behind his back before punching Bobby in the face. Once the blow hit, the man immediately fell back onto the floor of the ship.
'Shit! I didn't kill him, right? The poster said that they specifically wanted him back alive.'
Kisame squatted down next to Bobby and put his hand on the man's chest. When he felt the heartbeat, he let out a breath of relief. Kisame left Bobby where he was before going around the ship and ransacking it.
The men had a few Belly on them but that did not amount to more than 50,000. Besides that, there was also a chest that had money, jewels, and a smaller chest within it.
'That is definitely a couple of million Belly. If this chest is what I think it is, these guys were most likely going to try and sell it at the auction next week. Just their terrible luck that I'm broke and their captain's bounty was low enough to gather by attention.'
Kisame slammed the chest shut and tied the lock with a piece of torn cloth that was dripping red liquid for some reason. He picked up the chest with one hand before picking up Bobby with his other. Taking them both off the ship, Kisame sat them on the ground before returning to the ship.
He tore down several of the lamps before he threw them onto different parts of the ship. Before long, it caught fire. Soon enough, the ship would be ablaze. But by the time it was, Kisame was long gone as well were his spoils.

It was early in the morning and had just become 6 a.m. Mary had the bad luck of being the receptionist this morning. Even though there were marines who were training at this time, she was just a normal civilian who got a part-time job at the base because she needed money.
'I wonder how many of these guys are going to come in this morning. Probably none. It's only Tuesday. This is usually our slowest day.'
Still, Mary made sure to sit properly in her seat. Several other receptionists had been fired by the hardass marine vice-admiral in charge of the base in the past few weeks. Ever since he had arrived, he was extra strict and would not tolerate anything less than his vision of perfection.

Mary waited there for 15 minutes before the first hunter arrived. Even though it was still dark outside, the hunter showed up so early.
'Which means that he hunted down someone with a decent bounty. Wonder who he brought in?' Mary thought to herself.
When the door was fully opened, Mary subconsciously let out a gasp. This was not the first time she had seen a fish-man but the first time she had seen a shark-type one. In his hand was an unconscious man but the large fish-man dragged him like a sack of potatoes.
Once he arrived at the front desk, Kisame released Bobby from his grasp before explaining his prey.
"Bobby The Bold. Worth 23,500,000 Belly. Brought back alive."
It took Mary a moment to get out of her stupor but she nodded at Kisame's words. She then remembered her position and got to her job.
"Understood. I need to have some marines come and confirm this. Please wait a moment."
Mary did not wait for Kisame to reply before she pulled a rope. A loud bell could be heard. Kisame groaned when he heard the bell.
'Get some marines closer. I hate that this bell is so loud!'
It took 5 minutes before a few marines arrived. During that time, 2 other bounty hunters had arrived and were waiting as well. They also told Mary who their bounties were and were waiting for confirmation so they could get paid.
All the marines looked surprised when they saw Kisame before giving him a look of disdain. All except for one that had a friendly smile on his face. This man wore his marine jacket over just his shoulders with a symbol signaling his rank on his hat.
"Haha! It has only been 2 days, Kisame. Are you already so poor?"
"Tsk. Just give me my money!"
The man laughed and was not affected by Kisame's attitude. Kisame had been turning in bounties for the past 2 months about once a week on average and it was usually in the morning. Captain Longinus usually was on duty in the morning so he had met Kisame before and had grown used to the young boy.
He was planning on getting recruiting him into the marines at first but with Kisame's race and attitude, that plan was almost impossible. The captain still decided to try and keep the boy out of trouble.
Mary explained the details about the different people brought in. She Longinus the papers with their bounties on them. Longinus walked over to the body that Kisame had brought in and nodded his head.
'This is his usual work. Taking them out with his bare hands even though he has that huge sword on his back. And he was brought back with only a single injury.'
He then went to the other two bodies to check on them. After triple-checking them all, the captain addressed the 3 hunters.
"Arrest the one in the hood, pay Kisame, other one does not get paid at all. He brought in the wrong person."
The marines reacted as soon as the commands were given but the hooded man was faster. He rushed over to try and grab Mary before any of the marines could pull out their guns and take aim at him.
'Shit! He saw through it!'
The man stretched out his hand and was inches away from touching the young red-headed woman but before he could touch her, he was sent in the opposite direction and flew out the door. Standing in front of Mary was Captain Longinus with his fist outstretched.
The marines were a second too slow but once they came to their senses, they rushed out the door and immediately put the man in cuffs. Kisame and the other hunter looked indifferent at what happened to the third hunter.
"Where is my money?" Kisame asked
Longinus let out a laugh and told Mary to pass Kisame his bounty reward. The other hunter left after he remembered that he was no longer getting paid. After taxes, Kisame got a reward of 23,129,000 Belly in a briefcase. Kisame took his time to check the amount of money. When he confirmed it was the full amount, Kisame left the base.
He still needed to retrieve the treasure chest he had hidden away before he could return back to area 13 where he called home.

Draugr Cell //Layer 01-- Investiture:
With the end of the only war to ever reach mainland Australia I found myself living out of a small room in an old military compound that had been handed over to the jurisdiction of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The end of the war, unfortunately, didn't mean the end of hostilities. The terrorism trend that had started back in the early 2000's with the attack on the world trade center over in America, had spread to just about every country on the face of the planet. Over time the constant threat from various groups meant the civilian police force was quickly undermanned, under equipped, and overwhelmed. They were simply unable to respond to the daily threats in any reasonable time frame, and in many situations lacked the both the skills and equipment required to deal with the threats to put them down in a 'safe' and expedient manner. Veterans of the war that were being reintegrated into society however, were just about everywhere, all the time. We have the training and the skills required to deal with just about any threat you care to mention, all we needed was access to the equipment to do so. In a world first, under the new Veterans program, the Australian government had taken the rather controversial step of allowing specifically selected veterans to go armed in public. Sure, with Australian weapons laws being very, very strict there were a number of hurdles to get over first, but that's where the selection part comes in. Tangentially that's actually how I met Brianna, my current partner. We work as ringers in Victory City, I thought being thrown into imptomtu combat operations and risking my life on a daily basis for barely livable wages was excitement enough. Then I met her... it... I don't know. An AI unlike anything else out there has wedged itself into my life and decided it needs to... look after me. What could possibly go wrong? **** This is the first book I have released, and my first entry into a cyberpunk universe. There is minimal drug use, a fair amount of sex, a bit of gory violence, and a sultry AI that has decided the main character needs a harem.
