《NO STRINGS ATTACHED》CH. 70

Going back in time to the moment when the mercenaries were teleported...Three men had been locked on and sent elsewhere. They were the previous comrades of Shen's team, three of those that betrayed them. They were isolated from the rest and appeared in a completely different location.
They reappeared on top of a single thin bridge of rocks.
Three male beings of different races. A human-like man in taoist-like gear, a mechanical being with shining metallic coverings and a small rat-like being no taller than a human's knee with a peculiarity of having nine tails.
They soon realized the bridge itself was inside a volcano as they were surrounded by walls of uneven rocks all around and there was a giant chasm filled with lava under them. But more worrying was that they couldn't see the sky.
Instead, they saw clouds with blue lightning flickering inside of them. And they knew what this was. It was Shen's Domain. And just as they noticed it, something rushed towards them. They could only curse as they were forced to hurriedly take defensive measures.
Obviously, they weren't weaklings and as such, managed to block the first ambush. However, the one attacking, Shen, was not relenting and followed-up with more slashings. Just like in his previous fight with the clergy, his arms were lightning-filled and sword-like. There was a big difference in that the color was deeper and darker.
Shen was pursuing the man in white tirelessly, forcing him to send out defensive talismans, creating barriers, again and again. Meanwhile, the other two were trying to keep them apart without much success. Shen was smart enough to understand which of the three was the biggest threat and they knew that too.
???: Activate your domains! He won't give us any time!
Of course Shen would not give them time. This wasn't a spar, it was a fight to the death. They were three against him and they were strong. He was not going to give them any advantages.

???: Glow.
The mechanical male's Domain was called Glow and it was capable of accentuating the power of all light. His armor, made of a peculiar metal, was reflecting light at all times. This was the combination born from his use of his Domain. A way to constantly play with light and the visibility of opponents.
???: Proliferation.
This Domain's ability was to open portals which let beings of the same species appear and abide by the orders of the summoner. In this case, thousands of rats were pouring out from gates onto the stone bridge. It was very useful against many opponents of lower levels but against one strong? It might be a little annoying at best. It had one more weakness in that they could not be re-summoned for a time and it wasn't endless.
???: Extraction.
The last one's Domain was related to his abilities even more closely and was very potent. It was a Domain that forced the malicious remnants of feelings out of their world and into this one. As long as someone had died with regrets in a place, specters were created from those feelings and would attack. Unfortunately, it required a material: feelings of regrets. And so, nothing happened.
As they all began to use their Domains, they noticed problems. First, regarding the Glowrider's Glow, Shen had a solution. By getting them into a closed-off place, where the sunlight wasn't reaching thanks to his own Domain, he was able to reduce the effects of the Glow. The peculiarity of his own eyes making what was left useless.
Regarding the Profliferation... He snapped his fingers once and the bridge detonated. All the rats ended up in the lava for they did not know how to fly and the summoner would have to use far too much Magic in order to keep them afloat.

As for Extraction, it was the easiest. He only had to find a place where no one had ever died. Since only sentient species were leaving behind feelings after their deaths, it was not that difficult. It did take time though. He had to first find the place then create a volcano there and set the entire homefield. But it was worth it to negate all of their Domains at once.
Since he had the time to prepare, and he knew his opponents, he was not going to give them any opportunities. He had thoroughly prepared for this battle. Not to win but to kill them.
???: We need to get outside this place!
As the glowrider said so, he began to fly upwards, followed by the other two. With their magic covers, they would be able to cross through the lightning clouds. No damages would be felt. However, would Shen let them do so? Of course not. He went straight for the Taoist-like one.
The fact was that without him, they would never have a chance. As long as he could keep this one here, the others two were forced to stay too. Because if they were reduced to two out of the three...They would die.
And just as he expected, as he blocked the Taoist one to leave, the other two were forced to come back. From then on, it was a very straightforward battle.
You hit, I defend, I hit, you defend.
Shen kept silently slashing away at the three opponents while making sure to keep them down while the three kept sending out their counters.
An exchange of punches, kicks and slashes in mid-air between the thunder.
The fight was creating ripples and the lava all the way down was affected, forming waves upon waves that went on crashing onto the rock walls. Even outside the volcano, the ripples were felt in the surrounding ocean. Forcing the water outwards in waves of giant height.
Fortunately, this was a 'man-made' volcanic island specially created with the goal to contain this fight. It wouldn't be destroyed easily...

Sorcery in Boston
The timid daughter of some of the greatest spellcasters ever to have lived has found herself in another world, courtesy of magic gone awry. In Boston, Massachusetts, in the year 1935, she finds some kind souls in a hard era. In the heart of the Great Depression, as war looms around the corner, she seeks to find her place, and must come to terms with both who she is and what she truly desires. Author's Notes: Release Note: I recently realized what the hold up is. My current mental state is not compatible with the planned ending. If I wrote the ending according to what currently feels right, it will be a wretched, cruel ending that feels monstrously unfair and invalidates the work of the various characters... because that's how my life feels at the moment. The planned ending is coming out hollow and awkward, no matter how I write it, and so I've been bashing my head. I will finish it, once I manage to either brute force something decent out, or once my head gets screwed on straight. Audience: This story is not for young children - it contains some profanity, sexual content, violence, gore, and significant adult themes. Most of these are handled delicately enough not to upset teens or adults (hopefully), hence the lack of relevant tags, but it is nonetheless unsuitable for youth. It's fairly slow paced, and focused on the development of very human, very flawed individuals. Length / Completion Estimates: The outline currently involves two books. Book 1 is expected to be done with Chapter 43. It'll probably be completely finished by sometime in March of this year. I expect to move on to the far-more-lighthearted Of Gods and Dungeons (currently in progress / on hiatus). Afterwards, I may decide to redo Book 1, or write Book 2, or actually start sharing the story most dear to me, that I've been working on for several years now. Draft 1: Please be aware that this is first draft material. I do intend to come back to do a second draft after the story is complete. If anyone notices any issues whatsoever with the story, please let me know (pm, etc) so that I can improve the second draft. Writer's Pledge: I've taken the Writer's Pledge, meaning I'm commiting to completing this story. I'm a proud member of WriTE, a group dedicated to finishing stories. It will be done! Behind the Scenes notes: This picture was commissioned from an inked artist by the name of DanP. Up until the time of the protagonist's arrival, history has proceeded as before. Some places and characters have been borrowed from wikipedia entries of interesting figures from the time. I will make note in the chapter comments when such things come up. Naturally, I've taken a great deal of liberty with them. In interest of respecting individuals, I've either attempted to portray them as accurately as possible, or modified them sufficiently enough that they're simply an inspiration, instead of a real portrayal. I've attempted to be as accurate to the era as possible, but I'm not a historian. If you're aware of inaccuracies, please, bring them to my attention so that I can correct them.

Silverscale Paradise (A Yandere Harem Adventure)
Warning: This story contains R18 content and depicts sexual acts. Hey there, Mark Gregory here! This is the story of how I got sucked into the world of a trashy Harem manga that only lasted 12 chapters. I read it while I was high the night before and only vaguely remember anything about it....so yeah. No foresight. Also, it appears I am a brokenly powerful character, possibly the secret end boss, that was hiding in plain sight the whole time. - That is to say, the "Quiet Prince" student in their class. My new name is Zeneff Silverscale...can you guess what I am? If you guessed overpowered godlike dragon, then you are correct! The problem is...I don't want to be evil...and I don't know enough about the story to follow along...so what do I do? The Answer: Whatever the Fuck I want. I will also be posting this story on Scribble Hub
