《Tourism Record of the Origin Dragon》Record 043: Breakfast

I want to complain to those dumb deities. I just speak casually without ordering anything, yet it counts as a chant. Further more, Condemn? Such dangerous spell was cast just from a few words?
In less that a second after the spell's name appear, I feel a slight shock. The spell failed for some reason. As I thought, there is no way such a dangerous spell could be cast easily like that, right?
However it gives me some idea. What if I cast a delayed spell.. Wait, my DEX and SPI probably can't handle a delayed spell for too long. Who knows how long the kid would take to raise to sufficient level. What if I curse him? No, that's too evil...
And then I spend the rest of the night imagining the most suitable way to kill the kid. Different knights come and go in shift but I ignore them. In the end, when the sun has already risen, I decide that I'll simply feed him to that fat wolf. A gulp and the kid will be gone, no screaming to torment my Conscience while having a nice share of exp. Yep, let's summon him.
Before I could think of a way to summon my servant, a group of female human in maid clothing come. Well, I'm bad at paying attention to tiny detail while not having a taste for maid, but I know any human male would go head-over-heel to these beauties here. Evidently, the knight, who was supposed to watch after me, is now staring at them without budging.
A group of soldiers come and carry a middle-sized table and a few cushioned chair in to the garden, then one of the maids lays a cloth on the table. Everything are purple clothed and embroidered by golden thread. After that, the maids prepare some sets of empty dish, fork and knife in front of each chair. It looks like...
"Good Morning, Sir Origo." The king steps out from inside. All the humans here bow to him, though the knight beside me only slightly lower his head.
"What are you doing?" I ask, though I could already guess his intention.
"I'd be a honor if I could have breakfast with the Origin Dragon.." He gives a slight bow then sit down on the chair on the opposite side from me. "I hope you don't mind. Oh, sir holy knight over there and the angel you promoted last night can come too."
"Thank you for your courteousness, Your Majesty. But I'll have breakfast after my shift." The knight says.
"Ah, can't neglect work, I see." The king says with a smile, though I can't see which kind of smile it was. "Where is the little angel?"
I open my palm to show the kid sleeping soundly on his white scaled bed. I wonder how could he sleep so well on a hard floor. Judging from his clothes, he is probably really poor and have to sleep on the ground anyway; thus my paw is like Heaven to him. Almost heaven, heh.
"Then how about you, Sir Origo? Would you join me for breakfast?"
"Are you my breakfast?" I speak with jest in my voice and grin. I'm amazed that I could pull that joke without feeling nausea. After all, I considered eating the kid by myself last night.

"No no! Ha ha, you love to jest, don't you?" He laughs then waves his hand. A group of maids bring various dome-thingy and place them on the table.
I expect a basket of mushrooms for me, but nothing. Did they really expect me eating like a human? I have never tried anything other than Felix and mushrooms, so I want to know the taste of what this king usually eat. However, my head is already bigger than that table!
Before I could complain, the maids remove the domes that cover the dishes. Mushrooms. All of them are product of mushrooms.
Big mushrooms. Small mushrooms. Long mushrooms. Short mushrooms. Black mushrooms. White mushrooms.
Cooked mushrooms. Roasted mushrooms. Fried mushrooms.
So. Many. Freaking. Mushrooms!
"I heard you stopped the parade for some peasant's mushrooms. Here are all the best quality mushrooms in the kingdom. I hope you like."
I let of a slight sigh. Suddenly I feel movement in my right palm. The kid has woken up. He lifts himself up from my palm, rubbing his eyes then looks around and finally stare at the delicacy.
"Smell.. good." The kid says with a ringing and echoing voice, making everyone but me surprised. I heard him speaking last night anyway.
"So that's the Legendary White Angel." Someone exclaims.
"You can come and sit there." The king point at the empty chair on (my) right side of the table.
The kid jumps off my palm, flapping his wings uncontrollably a few times and walks toward the chair. The eyes of the human servant are kept on his tiny figure but the kid doesn't seem to be afraid.
Hmm, now that I think about it, this kid could be the attention magnet that draw away unnecessary attention from me...
"As expect of the Origin Dragon. Promoting a human into angel is something only a God could do."
...Or not. Okay, plan unchanged. Enjoy your last meal, kid!
"How about you, Sir Origo?"
I sigh then reach a hand over, trying to pick up the tiny fork with my claw. Seriously, I could pick up an entire human (with sufficient STR) without moving my arm, yet they expect me to use this?
"Let me help you, Sir." A maid come forward, reaching her hand to grab my fork.
"Shush!" I shoo her away. Firstly, I'd feel like a baby if she is really going to spoon-feed me. Secondly, I'm not sure if she is going to do something funny.
If I can't pick up fork, then... I change the target of my claws and grab the mushroom dish instead. However my clumsy claws couldn't differentiate between tableware and tablecloth. In the end, they give me a wooden spear to use as fork, though it looks more like a wooden toothpick for me. Ah, speaking of Toothpick, how is that fatty wolf doing?
Manifold. Ethereal Realm. Glutton's Domain - Penum.
The group are arguing on how to deal with Cruris. Everyone except the Brown head of Glutton. It wasn't interested in the debated and insists on simply fighting them head-on. Of course it's not that stupid to believe a Lv10 could fight a whole army.

"Blah blah blah! Just jump into the middle of them, kill as much as we can before using His name to scare them off. Why is it so hard?" Brown grumbles.
"We can't do that. I almost didn't believe you if not for various proof you had." Atrament says after a hissing sigh.
"I agree with him." Red says, only to receive a glare from Brown.
"Okay, how about this. You..two go to ask your master for this."
"I'll never ask that fat face for help!" Brown exclaims right away.
"I remember you did that back in the lake-town." Red innocently states.
"Who know if he is going to cast a weird magic again."
"But master's magic are always helpful. He even revived us."
"He added another head on me. Helpful my a..." Brown glares at Red.
"I agree with your left head. You should Shift back to Material Realm and ask for his idea." Atrament interrupts the two heads' quarrel.
Seeing Brown's hesitation, the snake leans down with a hiss in his throat, startling the wolf. Grumpily, Brown gives a nod.
"Alright then..."
Manifold. Material Realm. Northern Kingdom's Capital - Aurora.
In the inn near the royal castle.
Gluttonous Dragon's Toothpick is being left alone in a room. The knights who stay in this room are downstairs, in the bar, having breakfast.
The pole suddenly starts vibrating slightly. The fire and earth elemental particles slowly appear from the two blade, converging in the room and soon forming a two-headed wolf. The room is barely enough for the wolf to stay in, but it's not a bother because Spirits doesn't really interact with Rawn that much.
"Huh, where am I?" The brown head asks with a grumble.
"Did you mean, where are we?" The red head playfully correct its body-mate.
"If you don't stop that, I'm going to return. Coming to find him was your idea."
"I wonder what happen if only one of us stay here..." Red mumbles.
Ignoring the red head, the brown head starts sniffing the air like a habit. The red head also joins in. However, after turning into a Spirit, the wolf can't really differentiate smell in the air like a canine anymore. Instead, they can detect familiar beings through Mana.
"That stupid dragon is like a Sun here." The brown head turns to look at the direction of the royal castle.
"Hey! Check the room downstairs!" The red head suddenly says with its nose on the floor.
As brothers, Neon and Argon are used to sleeping together; while Rector didn't have any problem sleeping in the same room with the two lizards; thus, they only rent one double-room.
After a night of drinking and sightseeing, the trio went to their room and sleep like dead straight to the morning. Argon was the one to wake up first because he couldn't drink alcohol at all. Rector is the second, probably because he has a decent amount of VIT. When the human wakes up, he looks around and finds that Argon has already left the room while Neon hasn't woken up yet as he drank a lot.
Before he could leave the bed, the room's door is opened and Argon walk in, bringing a basin of water.
"Good morning." Argon places the basin next to his bed and greets Rector.
"Morning. Where did you go?" Rector sleepily asks. He doesn't really need to know, but he has to start the conversation somehow.
"Order us some breakfast and get some water for morning ritual."
Rector simply nods. Staying with the two lizards for a few week, he grasped their culture of morning ritual so he doesn't find it strange anymore.
["Can I have breakfast too?"] Suddenly a voice rings in their minds.
Although it's telepathy, Argon who has high DEX easily found the source's direction: The room's roof. A brown wolf's head is dangling there, seemingly coming out from the roof with [Lv10 Wolf Spirit] next to it.
"You are.." Rector frowns. The wolf looks familiar, but he has never heard any wolf talking before so he couldn't connect the dot.
["Oh, you forgot about us?"] Another wolf's head appears from the roof, startling both Rector and Argon. After the second wolf's appearance, the race tag changes into [Lv10 Cerberus(2) Spirit].
In the room, Argon and Rector are sitting on their bed, eating their breakfast while the huge spiritual body of Glutton occupies the rest of the empty space.
["You talk like you experienced it all."] Brown grumbles.
After the light greeting, Glutton's Red starts going on and on about what happened since they left Mirage lake town. In truth, there isn't much to say, and Red skipped most of what happened in Ethereal Realm.
["We are one, remember?"]
["Yeah yeah, whatever."] Brown shakes its head and leans down to eat some glowing thing on the bowl below it.
As a Spirit, Glutton exists in the form of pure Elemental Energy and could only interact with other elemental energy. The amount of energy in things like wooden floor or normal food is too spare so the wolf would phase through almost everything. However, this inn has high energy food for magic users and it's edible for Spirit too.
"Haha, Glutton. That name suits you." Rector says with a laugh.
Neon is still sleeping while Argon simply chews on a dried fish while listening, randomly chuckling at the wolf's story.
["Enough small talking!"] Brown grumbles again after finishing their rations. Both of theirs. Red doesn't enjoy eating that much, the food coming into their shared body anyway.
["Ah right. We have to visit our master. Where is he?"]
["That way."] Brown turns to look at the north wall. ["Let's move."]
["Do you mean, let's roll?"] Red chuckles at its own joke.
"He is in the royal castle. I believe they have enough magic-caster guards to shoot you down before you could tell your identity."
["Then, do you have any plan?"]
["And no more explosion like last time."] Brown grumbles.
"How about...?" Argon turns to look at his sleeping brother, a grin could be seen on his scaly reptile face.

Necromancer's Resolve
Foster Locke's life wasn't the harshest it could have been. But it wasn't the easiest either. Despite losing the last of his family and having immense debt thrown on him, getting the chance to keep practicing Martial Arts pulled away, and having a completely messed up sleep-schedule, he usually tried his best to stay positive to the outside world. Of course, that wasn't always possible, especially not when he was staring into the glowing eyes of a man-eating creature he had never heard of before. The glowing message-box that accompanied it wasn't much better either. Not to mention the fact that he was suddenly in a dark forest instead of the train station. This isn't a story of great anguish, inescapable peril, or heroic world-saving. Rather, it's one of a young man trying to get by in a world that seems to try his best to kill him. I hope you enjoy the read. --- Cover Image temporary [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story. This story is entirely pre-written, and will have one chapter released per week. If you want to read it all ahead of schedule and get access to some premium-exclusive bonus content, the entire book is available for purchase; links to the appropriate storefront pages will be posted at the end of each chapter. This story is also being posted to Scribblehub.
