Demon’s Forest of Death (Inner Part)

1 month had passed….

Lucas discovered that even his rank is low, he can match a Demonic Beast in the Master Rank. After discovering this, he often hunts Master Rank Demonic beast because demonic beast of Practitioner Rank pose no threat to him so he challenges even more stronger beast. In a month’s time, he collected 24 Master Rank Soul gems and 36 Practitioner Rank Soul gems.

“Hey Riviera, is Saint Rank Demonic Beast Powerful?” Lucas asked curiously.

“Um.. Not sure but once a Divine beast reach the Saint Rank they can use their innate abilities and element so it is probably the same for demonic beast and also some Divine Beast can even transform into human after they reach the Saint Rank but normally Divine Beast should be at Demi God Rank before they can transform.” Riviera stated.

“Wow! I want to battle that kind of Demonic beast.” Lucas said.

“If you want to die then go meet one but don’t drag me down with you.” Riviera angrily said.

“Hehehe, don’t be like that but don’t worry if I ever meet one I will escape as soon as I see it.” Lucas said.

“Good then kill that Master Rank Savage Elephant in front of you.” Riviera said.

“Okay, another soul gem for me.” Lucas happily said.

Lucas summoned his armament then rushed forward swiftly. The Savage Elephant saw Lucas and quickly used its tusk at Lucas. Seeing this, Lucas used Mirage Step. He jump but his image only stayed still meeting the incoming tusk. The tusk hit the image then the image disappeared in thin air. Lucas was now at the back of the Elephant then used another technique called Lightning Strike. Violet Sparks began to rotate at Lucas armament then with a stab at the back of the elephant, the sparks began to violently pierce the back of the elephant like a drill leaving a big hole at its back. After the battle, Lucas extracted again its soul gem.

“It’s very easy to get soul gems.” Lucas happily said.

“It’s because of the Spirit Skill you know. By the way, where did you get it?” Riviera asked.

“My grandfather gave it to me when I was a kid. He gave me a book then I just read it but after I finished reading it the book vanished.” Lucas lied again not wanting to tell something that may hint that he is not from this world.

“A Spirit Skill Book?!” Riviera gasped.

“Hey hey, can you tell me about it, I am getting very uneasy here.” Lucas said.

“It’s a Book that bestows Spirits skills that is recorded in it. A Spirit Skill Book can only be read through the usage of one’s soul then after reading it, the Spirit Skill Book will disappear. Maybe when you were a kid, you unconsciously used your soul to read it that is why the book disappeared. And also, there are many kinds of Spirit Skill Book like the book you read, it is a type of Spirit Skill Book that can be used to record multiple Spirit Skills and it will disappear after reading it but it can only record Spirit skills equal to or below SS Rank. There is also a Spirit Skill Book that can only record one content, it is called Divine Skill. Even though a Divine Skill only has one, it is more powerful than ordinary spirit skills. Its Rank is SSS and also possible the legendary X Rank but when you read it, it will not disappear because it will only merge into your soul then after you die, it will again return to its formal form. To use a Divine Skill, you must first know if it is compatible with you and the last one is the Divine Skill must recognize you as its master but there are some consequences when using Divine skill but it is still early for you so don’t rush.” Riviera explained.

“What a long explanation! But I hope I can use a Divine Skill.” Lucas exclaimed.

“Keep Dreaming!” Riviera giggled.

Lucas walked leisurely in the forest but unbeknownst to him, he was secretly watched by a being. This being is not hostile to Lucas but it is just curious why a human travels alone in a forest filled with Beast. When Lucas stopped to fight, it will also stop and watch him curiously. This being was following Lucas ever since he entered the forest.

Aegis Academy Main branch

Lily often goes to the Dean’s office or her aunt’s office, there they would chat about things but in the end they couldn’t help but talk about Lucas.

“Hey Aunt Celia, when will onii-chan come back?” Lily asked.

“It’s the 10 th time you asked me about this today!” Celia giggled.

“Huh? I- it’s not what you think Aunt Celia! I am just worried for him.” Lily blushed.

“Ho ho, is little Lily worried for her onii-chan’s safety or your worried that he might leave you for someone else!” Celia smirked.

“T-That-… I—Its not like that! Stop teasing me Aunt Celia!” Lily furiously said but she can’t help but think of the possibilities that something might happen to Lucas or he would leave her. Thinking that Lucas will leave her, her heart aches, remembering her older brother who betrayed their clan, betrayed his family and more importantly betrayed her. So the only thing she wishes is Lucas will come back safe and Lucas will not leave her side.

“Oh, Don’t worry Lily, he will be back the day after tomorrow if I guessed correctly.” Celia said breaking the gloomy atmosphere.

Hearing this, Lily got very excited that she stood up from her seat and go to the balcony of the office.

“Onii-chan please come back safe and don’t leave Lily’s side ever again.” Lily murmured as she stared at a distance.

Celia looked at Lily’s back, “This girl… Did she fall for him? Then if she did then I can’t… ” Celia asked to herself.

‘Sigh* I will just report this to her mother that after the Soul Fight, Lily will prepare to head out to the Divine Realm accompanied by the Champion of the Soul Fight.’ Celia thought.

‘Sorry Lily but Lucas will leave you, unless he wins the Soul Fight then he will accompany you to the Divine Realm.’ Celia said while gazing at Lily.

Demon’s Forest of Death (Central Part)

“Ahh… I should head back tomorrow, I collected enough soul gems but I wonder what resides here at the Center of the Demon’s Forest.” Lucas said curiously.

“Hey hey, why not head back now. If we encounter a Saint Rank Demonic Beast here, what will you do?” Riviera said.

“Then I will test if my experience is enough to battle it.” Lucas excitedly said.

“You said you will run if you encounter one.” Riviera said.

“I changed my mind, I just want to see what kind of Saint Rank Demonic Beast lives here.” Lucas said.

But after speaking, Lucas felt a strong pressure locked onto him rendering him unable to move.

“Damn, I can’t move anymore.” Lucas tried to resist the pressure but he can’t. With a spirit power of 3 star Practitioner, how can he resist this kind of pressure.

“I know this kind of pressure, it is from a Saint Rank Divine Beast.” Riviera said solemnly.

“Damn it!” Lucas cursed.

As soon as Lucas was preparing to use other methods of escaping, a beautiful young girl with long silver hair reaching her waist with Blue eyes appeared in his vision. When the girl appeared, the pressure intensified that Lucas kneeled to the ground.

Lucas looked at the girl, ‘She is the one using her spirit pressure on me?! So she is the Saint Rank Divine beast or Saint Rank Demonic Beast?!’ Lucas thought.

“You Human. Why are you here in my territory?” The girl ask emotionless.

“Eh- Ahh.. I just…” Lucas doesn’t know what to say.

“Don’t you lie to me or I will crush you with my spirit pressure on the spot.” The girl said staring at Lucas but her voice sounded sweet yet cold.

Lucas felt hopeless but after feeling like he is in Death’s door, he was stunned after the girl spoke again.
