Chapter 11: Hostility?

“Pfft! Don’t worry I won’t kill you. I am just testing you.” The girl giggled softly. It was this girl that was following him secretly ever since he entered the forest.

Lucas stared blankly for a moment.

’The hell?!’ Lucas cursed in his mind. He earlier saw a bone-piercing coldness in the girl’s eyes but… he never thought that the girl would giggle when he felt that he doesn’t have any more hope in living!

“I never thought that a human will be daring to trespass my territory. Oh and by the way, I am Alexa, a 2 star Saint Divine Beast.” Alexa said softly.

‘Divine Beast?! Saint Rank and in human form?! This must be the one Riviera talked about. But why there are still Divine Beast, Celia said that there are no more Divine beast.’ Lucas’ fear was replaced with shock as he pondered.

“Well what is your name human?” Alexa asked curiously.

“I—I am Lucas Helios.” Lucas said nervously, unable to forget the feeling of almost dying.

“Oh it’s Lucas then. Let us go to my home and chat there.” Alexa said while walking on wards. Lucas was hesitant but he still followed Alexa.

The two now went towards the Center most Part of the forest. There Lucas saw a massive tree spanning over 30 meter thick and 300 meters high. With that kind of size, it was already like a big dome and it also surpassed the dome in Aegis Academy.

“What a giant tree!” Lucas could only sigh in admiration.

“It sure is. This is the Center of the Forest and our home.” Alexa said then she looked over a distance.

“Our?” Lucas asked in confusion but suddenly he heard someone calling from afar. Lucas saw two figure running towards them. Until they are close enough when Lucas identified that they are two little girls.

“Sister Alexa!” the 2 little girls yelled in unison.

“Stella! Aria! Come here and greet our visitor.” Alexa waved then called out.

The two little girls arrived in front of Lucas and Alexa.

“Who is the visitor sister Alexa?” The little girl with silver hair tied in twintails and with orange eyes spoke.

“Hello, I am Lucas.” Lucas said with a smile but his face was unable to hide his confusion. He remembered Celia said there are no more Divine beast, yet the existence of Alexa was already a proof that there are but after hearing these 2 little girls call Alexa their sister, he was stupefied. Could they also be Saint Rank Divine beast?, this question was enough to put Lucas in fear and confusion.

The little girl with orange eyes spoke, “Hi brother Lucas, I am Stella and this is my younger sister Aria.” Stella said pointing at the little girl with similar silver long hair but with green-colored eyes.

“I—I am Aria.” The little girl with green eyes introduced herself meekly but she looked at Lucas curiously. She felt some sense of familiarity.

“Oh and before I forgot… he is a human.” Alexa smiled wanting to test Lucas and wanting to know how her two sister will react especially Stella.

Hearing their Elder Sister Alexa, they first stared at Lucas then Stella backed away, fear and anger in her eyes.

“You filthy human! Did you come to kill us just to obtain our soul gem?!” Stella said furiously.

“I—I…” Lucas was taken aback. He never expected this situation to occur. He looked at Alexa who was smiling mischievously.

‘This girl… I really did fall into her trick.’ Lucas thought but he still faced this current situation not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

“Enough talk, I will kill you today.” Stella said as she stared fixedly at Lucas like a predator hunting for its prey.

‘Snow wolf!’ Stella whispered in the air.

Stella was engulfed in a dark blue light. In a short period of time, changes began to happen at Stella’s body. Her silver hair began to have a tint of blue color and in her head appeared a pair of wolf’s ears and a tail at her back appeared.

“Hey hey, I didn’t do anything wrong.” Sensing something bad is about to happen, Lucas helplessly said. He couldn’t help but panic because if his intuition is true then this girl Stella is also a Divine Beast in Saint Rank.

Stella rushed forward, eyes filled with killing intent. She arrived in front of Lucas in 4 steps and used her small fist to punch at Lucas. Seeing this, Lucas used Mirage Step hastily. As soon as Stella hit Lucas, the image disappeared.

“This?!...” Stella said in confusion, she looked left and right, trying to find traces of Lucas.

“I told you, I didn’t do anything wrong.” Lucas’ helpless voice sounded at her back.

“Stop running Human, So that I can kill you!” Stella furiously yelled but Lucas felt relieved as Stella doesn’t know how to use Spirit Pressure or else Lucas will be unable to run.

Seeing the two run around like playing, Alexa couldn’t help but smile and look at the little girl behind her back, ”Why are you hiding Aria?” Alexa asked at Aria.

“I—I’m afraid of Stella if she went really really angry.” Aria said in a low voice but she intently looked at Lucas, her eyes brimming with curiosity.

“Eh? So you are not afraid of Lucas?” Alexa couldn’t help but be surprised. This girl behind her back has tragic past involving the death of their parents in a human’s hand but she was surprisingly not afraid of Lucas who is also a human.

Aria only nodded in response in Alexa’s question. Seeing this, Alexa only smiled bitterly. Contrary to Stella’s ferociousness and hot-headedness, Aria was a very kind hearted girl, she thinks that not every problem can be solve through violence, that is why she became very kind towards all.

As Stella was unable to catch Lucas, her orange eyes light up for a second then her speed rose several times faster than before. Stella’s feet nimbly touched the ground then she ran towards Lucas like an arrow.

Lucas saw Stella’s speed increased, but his eyes and mind were unbelievably calm and he didn’t hesitate to use another Spirit Skill.

‘Suppressing Air Sphere’ Lucas said in his mind. This skill has an effect of restraining the enemy below Lucas’ Rank but if he use it against an enemy with a higher rank then it will only decrease its speed.

The air in the surrounding began to move towards Stella, who was dashing straight at Lucas. The Air began to revolve around Stella’s body making her speed decrease.

Stella sensed the air changed as her speed began to slow down, she couldn’t help but look at Lucas. But what she saw was Lucas is standing still, calmness could be seen in his eyes. She immediately thought that Lucas wasn’t putting her in his eyes, the killing intent began to increase and it was combined with absolute fury as she looked at Lucas’ calmness.

“You human! Using dirty tricks at me! Do you even have honor?!” Stella roared. She thought earlier that she can easily defeat this human but she was gravely mistaken. Who said someone can easily bully Lucas, they didn’t even know that he possessed many different Spirit Skills.

As Lucas was about to speak, something in his Soul ticked. His body shuddered for a moment then it suddenly became heavy and he used his hand to support his body from falling. Seeing this, Stella rejoiced because earlier, she thought she can’t catch Lucas but now it changed.

Stella began to put more spirit power in her legs and hand, trying to kill Lucas in one blow but… as Stella was going to charge, Lucas black eyes stared at her like seeing through her entire existence. Stella shivered for a moment and shook her head. As she looked again at Lucas eyes, she immediately noticed that Lucas eyes turned cold and it has a tinged of gold but after that, in his right eye a strange mark is formed. His body began to emit a powerful pressure but it is not a Spirit pressure but a different kind of pressure.

Stella’s legs trembled and she immediately sat on the ground. Her eyes filled with fear as she never experienced this kind of powerful pressure. On the other hand, Alexa widened her eyes in disbelief. She clearly saw that Lucas was a human but the pressure his emitting is not of a human’s but a…

“A Dragon’s… The king of Divine beasts. The draconian has a bit of power from the dragons but they can’t release this kind of pressure but why can he, who is not a draconian.” Alexa muttered but in her voice has a trace of fear because she knows that even her pressure can’t compare to Lucas’. But contrast to both Stella and Alexa, Aria’s eyes stared fixedly at Lucas then she gradually left her sister’s back and walked towards Lucas.

Seeing Aria walking towards Lucas, Alexa wanted to stop her but she can’t even move the slightest and she only shut her mouth because of that overwhelming pressure. Aria was now in front of Lucas but you can see in her face that it doesn’t have any trace of fear.

Lucas’ eyes stared at the girl in front of him, when he was about to kill her, he suddenly remembered of a certain girl. That girl would always be at Lucas side because that girl could clearly see the loneliness buried deep within his heart. That girl was the one where he felt happiness that he never felt from anyone even his parents, because Lucas’ parents abandoned him when he was young but that girl accepted him like a family. That girl has a kind and warm personality, he can clearly feel that it is the same for this girl. He also remembered their one and only promise.

As he stare at the girl in front of him, his emotions was in chaos, he was tempted to go in adventure that is why he was here on Elex but he forgot about his only family that he left in Earth.

”Alissa” Lucas suddenly muttered softly. Then Lucas’ felt a soft and warm thing, brushing his head back and forth. It was Aria’s hand patting him. Lucas looked into Aria and what Lucas saw was Aria’s radiant smile filled with kindness and warmth as he looked at Lucas.

Lucas’ tears flowed in his face, ”I am sorry Alissa.” Lucas whispered in the air as he replayed the scene of their last meeting until Lucas was gone from Earth from who knows when.
