《Chronicles of Xod (returning from hiatus)》Chapter Two: Eccentric Booblagoon (Part Three)

It took a few minutes for me to peruse the information on the display, for lack of a better term. The way everything seemed to be laid out was much like a tabletop or video game RPG. The numbers looked a little lower than I expected, especially the attributes. I didn’t have anything to compare them to so I didn’t really know if they were low or possibly relative. It did fill me with questions.
“What does all of this mean?” I momentarily held my hand toward the display, but then hesitated when I noticed Guinevere retreat from my grasp. I was just thinking it might be interactive. I still blushed at her reaction.
“Well, it means I was correct. You and Gui are now linked. You were reborn in her font and are now immortal.” the giantess replied with certainty.
“Alright, I get that part. But, what does all of this mean?” I pointed toward the information displayed in front of the exposed fairy.
“Well, personally,” She began, “I have never seen this before. I am afraid I won’t be of much help to you there. I do believe that it is something you will have to discover for yourself.”
I was about to ask another question when the pixie spoke out again, “Mother, does this mean I am free as well? May I leave with him?” She had a very expectant and hopeful tone in her voice.
“Yes, Gui.” A sense of pride and somber happiness seemed to emanate from the fairy’s mother.
It seemed Guinevere had been holding in a lot of excitement as she let out a nearly unintelligible cheer, rose slightly off the mushroom cap wings fluttering, and clapping her hands. The cloak fell loose and the display vanished leaving her body exposed. She realized after a moment and refastened her cloak red-faced.

The spectacle distracted me. The mix of confusion and hormones caused me to hesitate. Before I could get another question out, Guinevere's mother spoke first, “Before I let you two leave, I must give you one last warning.” She looked directly at me, her face taking a serious expression. “This place, your font, your blessing, it is important all of this is kept a secret. There are those who may use this information against you or may come searching for this place. Please, do not tell others about my home or the font. For both of our sake. Understand?” She gave me a glare of warning.
“Yes, uh..” I paused for a moment and realized something, “What should I call you?”
“Good boy.” She gave me praise with some apprehension, “I am Morgana, child. Now, take a deep breath.” I nodded not quite registering the second part of what she said. But before I could speak another word, I was quickly surrounded by her warm fleshy fingers as she grabbed me. I barely had a moment to take one last breath before I was pulled along with Guinevere into the matron’s font.
The water below was quite clear, despite its glow on the surface. The watery cave below was much larger than I had expected. The walls around were much wider than the cave we had come from and large jagged gemstones, like those above, adorned the walls. As far as I could tell there was no bottom, the comfortably warm liquid ended in darkness below me. Though I could see an occasional faint glittering like flecks of fairy dust in the apparent bottomless pit. Luckily the three of us were only submerged for a minute before we resurfaced in a very different looking cave.

I gasped for air as we breached and I was gently released on the bank of the other side. It took me a moment to recover and as before, the liquid evaporated off of my skin quickly making me shiver slightly. Though the pool was of similar size, the area around us looked nothing like the other side. It looked like any natural cave. The slightly damp stone walls reflected with greys and browns with the font being the main source of light. The other source being the violet glow of Guinevere’s transparent cloak.
Morgana smiled over at us. She was leaning on her elbows in her usual fashion breasts resting on the bank of the pool. Guinevere was buzzing around and had shrunk back down to her original three-inch tall size. She looked quite eager to be on her way. “Good luck to you two,” the great naked fairy said with a hint of both pride and sadness in her tone. She sighed dramatically and clasped her hands together looking at both of us. “Don’t forget to stop by now and again. Your mother will miss you.” She blew us a kiss and, without another word, vanished into the depths below.
“But,” I raised my hand up to try and get her attention before she disappeared, but only received a splash of the now fading luminescent liquid.
Now it was just Guinevere and me alone in the dim cavern together. She buzzed around me and the cave, like a kid at a carnival. I, however, was not so eager. Even with the company of the pixie, I felt quite lost and alone. The fonts glow had faded, leaving me with only the circling violet light of the impatient fairy to navigate by.
