Chapter 24 · Email

I look on my laptop a bit but didn't find anything of use. I spent some time looking for stuff about magic online but a lot of it I wasn't sure I could trust. I mean half of it was so vague and lacking detail I couldn't help but feel sorry for anyone who tried some of this stuff.

It also made me kind of angry at other people for lying to others people like that and getting their hopes up. It was not fair to people who believe only to have their hope fall to lies. I knew how that felt.

I stop after a few minutes as it was making me sad and I needed to do other things. Slowly I start finding some clean clothes and found some white jean and a long sleeve shirt with blue petal down the sleeve that was nice. It was also a bit bland. Maybe when I get a job I should go get new clothes. After all, they were all so dull; they didn't stand out at all.

But first I would need a job. I passed my A-level but I never got a degree in the end and I didn't really know what I wanted to do. Maybe there was some kind of job I could try with magic now. I would have to ask Zoey if she would know somewhere to ask.

Soon I also found a towel and soap I quickly stole a shower in Zoe's bathroom as I didn't have one and I heard Bane in the main bathroom and didn't want to disturb her. I still feel like I was intruding on her space so I don't want to get in her way.

The shower was nice and I soon felt better and more awake after would. I then quickly dried and ran back to my room and changed into the clothes I got out earlier.

It was about two hours later that I heard a knocking at my bedroom door. Well to the half napping me it sounded a bit more like a cannon going off.

"Hey, Jade my friends are here soon if you want to meet them," Came Banes booming voice.

"C... coming," I whispered but Bane ever didn't hear or something because she then opened the door.

"Sorry, just checking your still here. If you'd legged it then Zoe might have gotta mad. and I would have to find new roommates," she explained not looking very sorry about it at all.

"It ok. When will they get..." I started to ask as a 'ding' of a doorbell went off. I didn't even know we had a doorbell.

Bane quickly marched over to the door.

It took about ten minutes for them all to arrive. All of each different from what I had been imagining completely. I was expecting biker or something.

Not a half bird half human person. A nun with what looked like a rifle and a normal looking guy with a bald head and completely black eyes
