《The Legend Of Drog》Chapter 7: Sunrise

The night passed and the morning came; Drog opened his eyes and in the horizon ahead – in the direction of the east, he saw the sun rays trying to peer from the mountains. "It really has been a long time since I woke up this early… early enough to witness the sunrise," he thought and smiled, "Since I am already here, I might as well stay and witness this spectacle."
A single breath of time passed. "Why are you just sitting there?"
"Master?" he said before lightly laughing. "I am just enjoying the sunrise," he continued smiling as he looked at the horizon ahead.
"It really has been a while since I witnessed it myself," she thought. "Do you mind showing it to me as well?" she said.
"Sure." Drog pulled out the pendant from under his rags and placed it on top of his clothes.
Liu Ri and Drog both looked at the slowly rising sun in silence.
Thirty breaths of time passed and half of the sun was now visible. As Liu Ri looked at it - sudden memories flashed through her head; her body released a deadly killing intent, so powerful that if Drog was in the pendant then his soul would have shattered immediately. The deadly killing intent only lasted for a half breath of time before disappearing without a trace. It was as if it was not released in the first place.
Thirty more breaths of time passed and the sun had now risen.
Drog sighed, "It's over."
Liu Ri nodded her head and sighed as well. "That's right, it's over. Everything has a beginning and an end. That is the ways of the heavens." she thought as her eyes flashed with a strange light.
Drog stood up and with both hands dusted off his clothes. He hid the pendant away under his rags; turned towards the village and walked off.
…
Even thought Drog cultivated the entire night, he still wasn't able to reach rank 1 martial novice realm.
…
Drog returned back to the village and saw that the people had already started preparing for the day. He only spared them a single glance before walking back to his, Go's, Ro's and No's house. He only spared the villagers a single glance for one reason alone. He believed that they were below him, that they were not worthy enough of his attention – his greeting.
He was always like this – he never cared about an average man and from the moment he saw the villagers waking up early in the morning and preparing for the day, he already identified them as average men and women.

In his mind, there were four kinds of people: average men and woman - who were not worthy of his attention, those that had a use, those that he identified as friends and those that he thought of as family.
He would never greet and acknowledge the average. He would tolerate and greet those that he could use. He would be warm to those that he considered friends but he would never reveal his weak points to them. He would let in those that he considered family into his comfort zone and trust them but not to the point where he would reveal all of his secrets to them.
…
He entered the house through the door and saw the three boys soundly resting on their respective beds. Drog's eyes moved to Go and the corner of his lips rose slightly. "You are so defenceless if I wanted to harm you, now would be the perfect opportunity, but that would backfire on me," he thought and shook his head.
Drog walked up to his own bed – lying down with both of his arms behind his back and his fixated on the roof. "Master, I had this question since yesterday," he whispered.
"What is it?"
"Big Sister Ri is a cultivator but she couldn't tell that I had awakened my dantian why?"
"No cultivator can tell whether the dantian was awakened or not they also can't tell what kind of dantian you possess. But they can sense the cultivation base of one another, but don't worry even if you breakthrough, that Big Sister of yours won't be able to sense your cultivation."
"Why?"
"She isn't strong enough and because she is not strong enough she doesn't have something called divine sense."
"What's this divine sense?"
"It's something that will let you sense other party's cultivation amongst other things."
"At what level, does this divine sense appear and what are those other things?"
"It's into the future, you shouldn't worry about it for now. Once you attain it, I will tell you everything about it but for now, just focus on getting stronger."
Drog slightly nodded.
Ten more breaths of time passed and Drog heard footsteps slowly approaching the house. He closed his eyes and the door opened. "Wake up!" The voice loudly said. Her sudden voice woke up all the sleeping children. They all jumped up from their beds from her loud voice.
Drog's eyes opened the and he stood up from the bed and looked at the arrived person. "Good morning, Big Sister Ri." He greeted her before any of the three boys could.

"Good morning, Drog."
"Good morning, Big Sister Ri," other children followed after – saying it in a harmony. They glared at Drog after.
"Good morning, Go, Ro, No," she said with a smile.
"I have prepared water for all of you, you all go and wash up. I will start on preparing the breakfast."
"Yes, Big Sister Ri," Go, Ro and No said in unison while Drog just nodded slightly. He walked after the other three children who ran out of the house. Just as Drog was leaving he glanced at his Big Sister Ri's back. "Why isn't she in some kind of the sect? Why is she in this village?" he thought. He shook his head and thought, "She is not my family, nor my close friend at best she is someone that I can use. So the reason as to why she is here should not be important to me."
His head moved away from her and he walked out of the house after the three boys.
The moment he stepped outside of the house, by the corner of his eyes, he saw a boy rush at him from the right.
Drog reacted instantaneously and dodged the boy by jumping to the left.
When Drog had awakened his dantian, all of his senses were elevated to the next level and because they were elevated, Drog could react as he did; if Drog didn't have the awakened dantian then he wouldn't be able to react as he did and he would have been hit by the boy that came from his right.
…
A child tumbled down, Drog looked at this child and he saw a familiar face. The boy that now laid on the ground was Ro. Drog frowned but he didn't continue looking at the boy, his eyes moved up from him and he saw two boys Go and No, one was glaring at him while the other was looking at the fallen boy.
One of the boys rushed to Ro, "Are you okay, Ro?"
Ro rose up from the ground, "I am fine, No."
Drog ignored Go's stare and walked past Ro and No to the buckets of water. He bent down and started to wash both his face and hands and after he was done, he walked back into the house.
Go narrowed his eyes at the door where Drog disappeared to before turning his eyes to Ro, "You are useless. Is it that hard to knock him off?"
Ro touched back of his head with his right hand, "I am sorry, big brother. He dodged it."
"Useless," Go spat under his breath.
…
When Drog walked through the door, Big Sister Ri who was cooking turned her head and saw Drog, "Can you help me set up the table?"
Drog shrugged his shoulders, "Alright."
She smiled, "Thank you." With her words, she returned back to cooking. The boy in just a few breaths of time, set up the table, sat down and closed his eyes. The moment he sat down the door opened and the three boys entered the house.
Big Sister Ri once again turned her head around, "You three go help Dro.." her words trailed off as she saw the table already set up. "You can all sat down just a few more moments."
"Yes, Big Sister Ri" All three of them nodded and sat down at the table.
Ro and No sat in front of each other and they immediately started chatting after sitting down. Go sat to Drog's left to seats over, he glared at Drog for two breaths of time before turning his eyes to Big Sister Ri.
Drog waited with closed eyes.
Five breaths of time passed and Big Sister Ri brought a huge tray onto the table, "I have prepared some meat buns, eat up. Everyone gets two," she said with a smile.
Drog's eyes opened and he looked at the buns in front of him. He extended his hand and grabbed his first bun and bit into it.
"How is it, Drog?"
"It's good."
She smiled, "That's good."
"It's not just good it's delicious," Ro said with a large smile on his face.
No nodded his head, "Yes, Big Sister Ri, it's really delicious."
Go was the last one to bite into it and once he did, he as well commented on it, "It's delicious, Big Sister Ri."
"I am glad that you all like it."
…
After the breakfast concluded Big Sister Ri left and in the house only four children remained. Once they were all alone Go glared at Drog and said, "Drog, if you dare let's go to the usual place!"
Drog shook his head, "I will pass!"

Braindead - A Zombie LitRPG
In a world where zombies are trash mobs that children kill for easy exp, what hope does one little zed have? Zed was minding his own business when his master's domain was invaded by a plucky young heroine looking to make a name for herself. An unlikely turn of events allowed Zed to come out on top, and gave him enough experience to rise above the life of a mindless minion. Unfortunately, it also left him with no body to share it with... literally, not figuratively! This story contains: Some 'jokes' containing questionable humour. An inhuman MC who has no interest in pesky things like romance or growing a conscience. Blue boxes, and a DnD style system messily mashed together with several other systems. Gore, but nothing too gratuitous. The main character is a severed head so what do you expect? Kingdom/base building, because what good is a zombie without a good horde behind them. Releases planned for each Sunday until I build up a decent backlog.

I Have Even Read the Rulebook!
As all stories begin, Prof died. Yes, truck-kun had something to do with that, but also a bird, a cat and some rebar. When he was presented with with the opportunity in the Afterlife Administration Bureau to be transmigrated into a game-like fantasy world, he did something, no one ever did: he read the Rulebook. Follow Prof on his road to be rich without working, touring a whole new world without a care and witness his realisation, that despite having read the Rulebook the folks living with the System for untold millennia know more about the rules. Important notes: 1, I'm not a native speaker, so be prepared for occassional typos, iffy grammar and maybe awkward sentences. The spell check was running, when I wrote the chapters, but it works in strange ways... If you point out mistakes, I will try to correct them 2, Scheduling will be two chapters a week, posted Saturdays before noon (CET). Depending on how much new chapters I can write consistently there will be probably more but as long as I have leftover chapters, the two per week will be posted no matter what. Chapters will be around 1500-2500 words as MS Word counts it. 3, I did not and will not post this novel on another site, if you find it somewhere else, please inform me 4, The Main Character's progression is slow, there will be no Levels, Skills, Abilities, Feats, Perks and Cheat Powers raining down on him 5, I've put Comedy as a genre because of my writing style not because the novel is a comedy per se. On the other hand, Traumatising Content is there because there is a lot of speciesism - those Elves are not nice people. 6, I put a lot of pop-cultural references into the chapters, try to find them! Enjoy!

HEIMDALLR
After his first life, Heimdallr felt he had lived a decent way; he wrote stories and lived a simple life, avoiding publicity and focused on promoting growth to the few who cherished his works. But after being reborn as Heimdallr Dagrsson, one of the many sons of Daesal's greatest warrior Dagr, he was put into a world devoid of wide-spread access to reading and writing. Instead, he was dropped into a world where fighting and death commonly reared their heads. Now, faced between his unsupported passion and his new life's innate talent and upbringing, he will have to find his new path. He will forge a new story that would make even himself dubious of whether or not it's fact or fable. HEIMDALLR is a story taking place in the setting created for another previous work of mine called KOBOLD. It follows a reincarnated person trying to wrestle between their old life and new life's wants and needs, all the while adapting to the situations that arise out of his control. Heimdallr starts out trying to survive and live a new life, all the while facing challenges and growth both fantastical and painfully real. Loosely inspired by Norse mythology and histories (names and some themes), spun into a fantasy, grit-rooted world. Skål! All content warning tags are applied so as to allow freedom of writing but there is no intent of excess or even regular use of these themes. Regardless of this, any and all uses will have dedicated warnings presented in the chapter whenever they are present! Reader beware!
