《Chaos Realm; A VRMMO Tale》2. La-Dalia Town

The horde contained mostly orcs. They followed Gene passionately but once she jumped in the well, they hesitated.
'It worked.' Gene, who looked up, saw the orc crowding around the well. Thanks to the advanced AI, the orcs refused to jump down considering the reward being a little boney girl who barely had enough meat to satisfy a newborn cub let alone the hundreds of them. The orc leader's face had an 'I didn't sign up for this' attitude as she walked to the nearby step and sat on it waiting for the prey to come out.
After fifteen minutes of standing in the well half drenched in water, the timer ran out ending the trial.

Out of nowhere, Lizy appeared again.
"Never seen one pass the Dragon God's trial.
"Good job. Off you go then. We hope you enjoy it here."
Teleporting in 20 seconds.
***It might cause dizziness***
'Wait, I…' Gene lost her ability to control her avatar as she was forced to stay still. Once the twenty seconds were done, she was thrown out to the middle of a busy street dripping, making a puddle in the middle of the road. A translucent blue screen appeared in front showing her hard-earned gains from the trial.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no…"
In front of her eyes was the new class she obtained.

Gene kept staring at the unreasonable window in front of her eyes.
'Zero Attack Power? How am I supposed to play?'
On one hand, the health multiplier made her an insane cockroach with no ability to kill. Even if she could kill, the experience gained made it completely worthless. There go the strategies that she had built up from countless years of research. Her perfect plan to complete the Dragon God's trial finally bit her in the ass.

Double Reflect (Legendary Passive)
Reflects any damage received with doubled damage
Pain is Pleasure
50% received damage is absorbed as Health
After seeing the two skills she had, a devious smile appeared on her face.
'I might be able to make it work.'
Only then did she look around trying to figure out where she was. She had planned to recreate the character had her starting class been terrible. Looks like the pacifist class wasn't bad. The health recovery together with the massive health pool made her a true cockroach. Even if she couldn't grind like the rest, the bonus she gained on other tasks more than made up for it. Grinding was painful in Chaos Realm. A known fact!

La-Dalia
Had she not had a massive health pool, she would be instantly killed by anything. Thankfully the health was beyond anything that a normal level 1 character would have. The skill 'double reflect' made it better to receive as much damage as she could. Still, she made mental preparations to buy a few health potions, just in case.
La-Dalia wasn't big. It had a few daily necessities shops and one town centre which acted as a go-to place for all your needs. The town hall was modified as a quest issuing area. To the side of the reception was the crafting pavilion. If not for the garrison within the establishment, one would assume it was merely a bigger village. Even the residences were small huts giving the giving of a village.
Gene didn't know much about this place. Even if you had ten lifetimes, it wouldn't be possible to remember everything that exists in the game. Her initial plan was to grind to level 10 and leave for one of the starter cities. Little did she expect the grinding to be a now go. Looks like finding quests would be the only way forward.

The town wasn't busy. There were barely enough amenities to make the place worth the stay. Which meant all the players would immediately leave after reaching the required levels.
Walking into the quest hall, she was welcomed by the loud snore of the receptionist sleeping over the counter.
"Great." Gene tried not to make any noise but like a trained dog, the woman sniffed the air and suddenly woke up.
"Ah, welcome to the La-Dalia Town Centre. Is there anything you need help with?" The woman who was sleeping seconds ago was now loud awake with a gentle welcoming smile on her face making Gene wonder if she had been dreaming. It looks like she was a veteran at sleeping through the job.
"Quest?" Gene muttered.
"It should be on the quest board." The lady turned to look at the board only to see it empty. "Oh, sorry the new quests are just coming through." She shuffled through the papers on her desk finding a few that resembled quest papers and walking over to pin them on the empty quest board.
Gene walked over as well and checked the quests.
"New, my ass…" The quests on the board were all a couple of days old, some even dating to a few weeks. Thankfully, Gene's rant was low enough to avoid the receptionist's ears.
The quests available were all mediocre. Most of them contained killing which was a definite no-no for Gene. The repeated quests like grabbing herbs and collecting ores were the best she could hope for.
"Treasure hunting?" Gene's eyes shone a new shade as she saw an older much more tattered piece of paper on the quest board. Its sides were chipped due to it hanging on the needle for a few months.

Prince of Destiny
Karl is the last prince of a royal house that has been overthrown by brutal revolutionaries. Orphaned by the revolutionaries, he was rescued and has been raised in secret by Leevana, a green skinned night-hag, for the past ten years. When Karl turns sixteen and is old enough to embrace his destiny, he and Leevana must set out on a quest to find his royal grandmother. But the depraved new leader of the revolutionaries, Joe Steel, is on their trail... Somewhat inspired by the basic concept of Don Bluth's fairy tale animated feature, purporting to be based on the myths surrounding Anastasia Romanov. I don't think this counts as a fanfiction, because it does not use anyone else's characters and it is in its own self-contained world, but please keep in mind the inspiration. Leevana and Karl are completely original characters, but Joe Steel, the bigger bad, is inspired by Stalin. Maybe let me know if you think it should have a fanfiction tag or not.

Gray's Crucible
“The value you have brought to trade is immense, more than a thousand fold what any other traveler to Crucible has ever produced. More than even I produced during my journey.” The old man paused for a moment here, seemingly reluctant to continue. After a few seconds he begins again with weariness creeping into his voice. “As the Messenger of Crucible I have received the value of your life. You shall be awarded a body with potential equaling the value you have brought to this place in accordance with the laws of the higher realms. Now you shall depart for Crucible, but first; I, Jaze, will give you some advice.” The old man, Jaze, he had named himself paused a time. Time enough that Gray began to wonder if he was still present, when he suddenly continued in a low and serious tone, “You will undoubtedly have great potential Gray of Earth, but it is still only potential. What could be is not necessarily what will be. If you step foolishly in my world, if you can not live up to the potential you have bartered for, Crucible will crush you mercilessly and tear away your very soul.” A thought, cheerful and light was heard from Gray before his presence was sent rocketing away like a shooting star. “I’m looking forward to it.”
