《The Forest》Ability awakening

The group of 8 went down to the lower levels to kill the remaining goblins, the battles were uneventful as the goblins were either resting from their battles or eating or ‘eating’ their spoils. The mutilated corpses raised steamy anger from everyone in the group and the ‘eaten victims’ were killed by us, despite the rapid adaption we had to this world, killing a fellow human no matter the reason still made all of sick to the stomach. The woman especially became angry seeing their fellow ‘sisters’ looking broken and emotionally a doll. On the last floor the battle with the goblins became intense and there were a few close calls but in the end the group of 8 won. During the battle the shirt of Ben was ripped off when he was ganged up on by 3 goblins. Sunlight fell upon the strong dark skin of Ben highlighting his body like he was some god like warrior. His back had a symbol imprinted on his back very lightly flashing as the energy from his kills was absorbed.
Human, rank 1, body (arms), rare
Once the blinking subsided Ben let out a mighty roar and then started taking deep breaths, whatever was happening to him started to subside and he seemed happy and exhausted at the same time. The last remaining goblin that he didn’t kill was blasted away from his roar and fell unconscious when it hit the floor. Ben’s disturbance in battle agitate both sides but ending in the death of the goblins.
I walked over to the tired Ben after killing the last of the goblins, When I came closer I saw the symbol on his back and my brain felt a sharp pain and the symbol on his back started to seem more and more familiar. Second after second past and the meaning of the symbol became clearer and clearer in my mind.
It said the species he came from, his rank, and his power type and rank. He was a human who just became a rank one evolver, his power involved his arms and its rank being rare, what exact position that was I’m not sure but if I went by traditional thinking its semi good not bad nor exceptional. The symbol on his back wiggled on his skin and moved from his back to his arms looking like henna tattoo. It covered his whole arm like a sleeve, when I was inspecting it lit up with a bright blue color as Ben lifted his arms and hulked smashed. Breaking the tile floor and making about a meter wide and deep hole where his arms impacted. “Fuck yeah, I’m black hulk, HAHAHAH”. Ben laughed up roaringly before collapsing on the ground out of breath and sweating bullets. “Are you ok? What’s wrong?” The group asked anxiously as they saw one of their own fall on the ground sweating and out of breath trembling. “It’s alright, he’s fine. He just over exerted himself, on his back well now arms lies a symbol. This symbol tells your rank, power and species and it seems that is power deals with his arms and its rare. All I know is that every rank up you get a chance to unlock a power, this goes for monsters as well. I’m assuming that goblins are rank 0 therefor really weak with no chance at a power while its next evolution would be a hobgoblin which would be a rank one and so on so forth”. I explained to the best of my knowledge making them understand yet still confused.

“Let’s check everyone’s back just in case, maybe we awakened one you just didn’t know”. I said as everyone pulled up their shirts to check their backs, the women did theirs together and the men as did theirs together.
“I have one” Rheas voice called out before others followed as well. It seems of the 8 everyone has one, but they seemed faded. I inspected each of theirs starting with Rebecca.
Human, rank 1, intelligence(charm), super rare. Rebecca’s stated intelligence and charm, whatever that meant. Once I read the symbol is rapidly flashed and started to wriggle and move from her back to her head where the tattoo formed the shape of a pink water droplet between her eyebrows and the stars in her eyes. The whole process took about 30 seconds, Rebecca lied on the ground rapidly beating her eyes getting familiar to her new powers. “My eyes can charm anything with weaker mental defenses than me to make them obedient to me, my power also enhances my brain functions and mental capacity a lot more than any other attribute”. Rebecca said with gasps between each word as she tried to gather her energy from the upgrade.
After she was done I walked over to Rhea as she was closest to me and inspected her back which also had a complex symbol. Repeating the procedure, I looked at her symbol and tried to deduce what it meant. Seconds or minuets later she also burst forward with energy and collapsed on the ground while taking heavy breaths. Her tattoo wriggled and traveled down her body to her legs and huge ass, the intricate swishes and swirls on her long legs and big butt would make make any man wild with desire as the symbol added a heavy charm to her already beautiful legs and ass.
Before I could tell her what her powers are my mind collapsed on itself and everything went blank as I fell heavily on the ground as something invaded my mind in body knocking me out.
“What happened” Everyone freaked out when their leader fell to the ground suddenly like he was dead, “maybe the boss is going through his on evolution”. Adam suggested as they rushed to pick him up and see whets wrong, they pulled up his shirt and looked at his exposed muscular back and saw a tattoo except the symbol wasn’t wriggling and blinking rapidly it just sat faintly visible. The idea of Adam was therefore wrong, and the unknown made them even more terrified. They picked up Drake and moved him to the nearest classroom and cleared the surrounding bodies and put on the clear teacher’s desk. They sat around him pacing anxiously not knowing that Drake was experiencing a life and death trial a massive reward or death scenario.

Drake found himself in a hallway with endless number of doors, everything was grey and ominous, between dark and light. Drake stood up from the ground and put his hand on the hallway, it felt rough to the touch, like sandpaper. The ceiling was pure black, and the floor was pure white everything else was bathed in grey. Drake called out “Hello, guys, where are you?” He called out multiple times with no response he started to look around the hallway inspecting it, the more he looked the more he noticed there was. A vase, a chandelier and painting which he previously didn’t see now occupied his surroundings. He walked to the closest door to him and put his hand forward to open it but suddenly, his heart crashed, and his hand stopped just inches away from the brass doorknob from the old looking doors. Looking at the door intently before walking away slowly, when he turned around he felt something calling him from the other side of the hallway. He felt something beckoning him, calling to him like it wants to complete him, make him whole. The power that called to him was neither evil nor good, yet it was both. The power was animalistic in nature and very protective of those close to it and ruthless to its enemies. Door after door passed, each different from the last, never the same except one door. This door was twice the size of all the other doors, reaching the ceiling. At the door stood two lions guarding the door, one had its mouth wide open and the other lying on the ground with its paw pushing forward touching the air. The door was intricately carved, depicting a massive battle that involved the entire universe, all the monsters you can thing of plus more all attacked one monster who stood lazily in the center with its power grabbing in front of it and its mouth open, revealing a bottomless pit as monster after monster was devoured.
Drake was in a shock from what he saw designed on the door that he walked forward and touched the lion creature in the middle, the pervious life like lion jumped and looked at drake before sucking in with its mouth and swallowing him whole.
