《Unbound Reality.》The universe
Advertisement
The universe is vast, most likely during the time that humans are alive whilst actively trying to discover what mysteries it holds it will never be fully discovered. There is a scale that could easily show how little humanity actually has discovered, the Kardashev scale, which measures a civilization's level of technological advancement based on the amount of energy it is able to use. There are five tiers of this scale and current earth is on 0,72 of the scale and obviously the scale of Ben’s planet is 0.
It has been calculated that Humanity will most likely never even be able to reach tier 1 on the scale in the next milenia. If humanity were to reach tier 2 or above they would have reached the interstellar era where humanity lives amongst the stars that years ago thought to be out of reach.
The biggest fear of humanity is the unknown, fear that what they don’t know can harm them or cause change. Some people like change but others are scared to change, scared to lose what they already have because they are forced to change. But what is the most fascinating thing about humanity is that when they fear the unknown they want to know what they don’t which would cause advancement for humanity.
That is why humanity is actively trying to know what is beyond our solar system, and they have come a long way in discovering the mysteries that lie beyond. For example the fact that there are more stars than there are grains of sand on earth, there has been discovered that there is lightning in space and extraterrestrial life isn’t as fictional as we thought. These discoveries are what keep us going, with each individual discovery we yearn for more like an addict to their drugs.

Ben did not know if his construct would create something akin to the universe back home but if it did Ben couldn’t wait and see how things would develop. Maybe there would even be a planet where life could also thrive, though Ben couldn’t care less if it were to happen as he is content on watching his own planet develop.
…
[Construct pov.]
My Creator tasked me with creating the universe, where there now is a void I could already see many things I wanted to add to it. I had planned to make it big! Bigger than what my Creator has made, it wasn’t because I want to one up my Creators work or anything. Everything will be centered around the planet my Creator made, it will be a geocentric universe.
Spreading my arms for extra dramatic effect I focus on the power of my Creator, the power that fills the empty void. Drawing on it I focus on what I want, I want the void to be filled with atoms which will clash with each other forming either stars or planetoids which will circle these stars.
And then I will it, and it will be so!...
…
The empty void which was silent a second ago started violently shaking and rumbling, sending what could only be described as a potential world ending shockwave out into the void. The planet which the Creator had made stood still in place yet on the surface shockwaves which destroyed almost everything it came across shook the ground. Trees which weren’t grounded strong enough were lifted in the air and flung away at high speeds, the only things which survived the shockwave were the giant tree and the mountains. Even the rivers were empty as the shockwave had blown away all the water.

The whole geographical landscape was completely reformed.
…
At the same time with Ben who was sitting on the moon everything hit as hard as it hit the planet. When the shockwave hit Ben his hair and clothes ruffled hard due to the sheer pressure of the shockwave yet Ben didn’t even bat an eye, he calmed and looked at where his construct was with a slight smile. Ben completely ignored that everything around him was reforming due to the shockwaves as he was more focused on what his construct had done. Now instead of the previous smooth moon there were craters and cracks on its surface, now resembling the old moon more and more, but instead of the round craters of meteors that had hit the surface it was chaotic and random.
…
Everything was taking place in a fraction of a second yet when the shockwave finally reached the last celestial object, the Sun, something different happened. When it hit instead of shaking everything became silent, slowly after the silence started things started brightening up. The light was spreading everywhere until everywhere was blinded by the light caused by the collision between the Sun and the shockwave.
The light was so bright that Ben’s construct had to cover its eyes so it didn’t go blind, Ben was fine though as he still had his smile on his face. The light which had taken a golden glow after reaching a certain point started to dim down slowly…
…
After the light had finally dimmed to a point where you could now see again normally you could immediately see a change. Instead of the empty void which had been there only minutes ago there was a sky filled with lights…
…
[Construct pov.]
“Beautiful...” That was the only word that escaped my mouth, I… felt contempt with just staring at what I had made, I knew that this was exactly what my creator wanted.
…
In the time I was staring at my creation I noticed multiple light sources brighten and fade out of existence. Some shined bright and others were barely noticeable, it was truly a marvel to look at. I felt truly honoured that my Creator allowed me to create such a marvel, if I could I would shed a tear for it is too beautiful.
I knew that the distances between me and these new stars was too great for me to traverse yet I was contemptuous just looking at it.
My thoughts were interrupted when I felt my Creators hand land on my shoulder. When I looked to my Creator I could see a smile on his face.
“You did great.” It was all what was said but it said enough for me. Though what my Creator said next shocked and saddened me.
“It is a shame that it is destined to end...”
I… didn’t understand why my Creator would say something like that, how can something so beautiful be destined to end? How could he allow something like that! NO! I will do anything in my power to make this eternal!...

The year is 1969. Yancy Lazarus—bluesman, gambler, future world-class mage and fix-it man—is just a dumb, unlucky kid serving with the 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines in Vietnam. With just a few weeks left to go until Yancy gets shipped back to the States, he’s just trying to keep his head down and avoid a body bag—no mean feat in Nam. But when his squad is tasked with conducting a routine patrol deep in enemy territory, everything goes to nine kinds of hell, and he quickly sees his chances at survival slipping away. When the radio operators start to pick up some funky, dirty ol’ blues all the way out in the backcountry, it’s a nice change of pace. At least until the men in Yancy’s squad start losing their minds, turning on each other with murderous intent as the music works its deadly power within them. Convinced it’s some kind of new psychological warfare initiative, the squad leader forces the men to push deeper and deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, obsessed with locating the music’s source. What they find, however, isn’t some new technology, but an ancient spirit awoken by the terrible war. Even worse, the music is changing Yancy too, awakening something buried inside of him. Only one thing is certain, nothing is ever going to be the same.See how it all began … *** PRAISE FOR SIREN SONG:Hunter's writing is as low-down, gritty, and insidious as the blues Yancy Lazarus loves.
