《Hero or Fool》Chapter 13: How I Enlisted in the Army

I woke extremely startled, but awesome I am still alive! Unfortunately, the fact that I am alive is the only thing I can really confirm, I have no idea where I am or how I got here. My hands are bound to a heavy object and I am blindfolded. In addition, I cannot detect Hope and my sword is missing. I do not think the people who kidnapped me are with Theresa based on the fact that I am still alive.
"Hello, is anyone there?" I called out, hoping there was.
"Oh, you woke up faster than I expected, to regain your mental strength that quickly. My hunch was right you are talented." An unknown voice replied. From the deep raspy voice I could tell that he was a man, but I still unable to pinpoint an age on him. I should probably question him about my situation.
"Who are you and why am I here?"
"For now you can call me Dues, I am an ex-knight and I want you to help me achieve my noble cause." Noble cause? Ex-knight?
"An ex-knight achieving a noble cause? But isn't that kinda contradictory?" Honestly.
"I am an ex-knight only in name, I lost my title after I decided to rebel against the evil king. I want you to join my army to fight against him if you do so I can promise you titles and land in my new government." Wait, evil king?! I mean... I would but...
"I appreciate the offer, but I have people I need save and I am bound to a goddess in my hometown. I was teleported here in an attempt to end my life." And I still can't believe that bitch.
"I see where are from, I can at least point you in the right direction." That's strange. Just a second ago Dues seemed really passionate about recruiting me, but when I refused him he did not really seem to care. Did he give up? No, has to know something I do not.

"It is a town called Ume, I doubt you have ever heard of it though." Mainly because of how small it is... I guess...?
"I have heard it, unfortunately for you that place is on the other side of the world, it would take about 5 no 6 years worth of travelling to reach your home. Only if there was some way to reach your home sooner." Okay, that is suspicious.
"What? Do you really have a way to send me back?"
"Maybe, Maybe not." Damn, he is totally trying to play me right now, I will just have to use force to get answers out of Dues. although I cannot move I can still use magic against him.
"Bind Will." What? I used the spell, but nothing happened my magic did not activate.
"I thought you might attack me so, the cuffs that bind your hands together cut off your flow of magic, rendering it useless. Listen to what I have to say, I can offer you a deal that can benefit both of us. How about this, I am quite skilled in teleportation magic, but your home is too far away for me to send you back without help. I could do it with the assistance of my brother, but he is locked up in the royal capital. If the rebellion is successful he can be freed, and we can send you back home. How does that seem?" It is a good offer, in theory, there is a chance that he is lying about the distance between here and my town. I should go along with it for now since he may be my only way to get home, plus defeating an evil king sounds like something a hero would do. Forgive me Tiw, it will take me some time before I am able to save you.

"It seems like my only choice is to say yes, so I will fight alongside your army." He removes off the blindfold and cuffs. I finally get a good look at his face. His face is very rough and he has a scar that runs down the left side of his face, he's dressed in black and kinda of reminds me of Jax. I can also see the room I am being held captive in, it is composed of a table and a few chairs. The only way out seems to a staircase that leads up.
"You can have this back as well." He tosses me my sword, I catch it and hear a familiar voice echo throughout my head.
"Master, I thought you were a goner. I am glad you are safe!" Hope yelled.
"Now that you have joined my army you have to look the part. I got a gift for you while you were sleeping, here catch." He hands me a set of clothes. I examine them, they are completely black with three white stripes on the top left. On the top right there are three golden stars surrounding a whale.
"What does the whale mean?"
"In this country, the whale is a symbol of the king," meaning he's fat? "the three stars mean that it is our fate to overthrow the king." That is deeper than I thought, I should write this down somewhere for future use. I tell Dues to toward around while I change into my new set of clothes. After I put on the full outfit, Dues approaches me.
"You can view the outfit in a mirror I have upstairs." I comply and head upstairs to find a full-length mirror in the corner of the room. I look as good as always.
"Like what you see? You are now an official member of the rebellion wear your uniform with pride. Unfortunately, you will not have time to break it in." Enough time?
"Why's that?" I question, pure curiosity lacing every word.
"Your first mission begins in 2 hours."
