"Had a rough night?"

"It turns out I'm not so good at directions..."

Lucifer replied half asleep, classes start at 7 am in the morning as Mage's valued their time dearly. there were a variety of classes however Lucifer and Ray had ended up in Class 1 which focuses on nurturing Mages with High affinity. there were currently 11 people in the classroom including Lucifer and Ray and 7 of them had high affinity whilst the other four had rank 8 Affinity which still had the potential to awaken.

"Hello Class 1, from now on I will be your teacher"

Cassius entered the class causing the students to stop chattering. he made eye contact with Lucifer who seemed sleep deprived and smirked.

"We Are Honored to meet Arch-Mage Cassius"

A girl with blonde hair stood up and bowed to Cassius in order to show him respect.

"There is no need to call me that, You can address me as Teacher Cassius or Sir"

"Thank you, Teacher Cassius"

The blonde girl seated herself after Cassius's introduction.

"Alright you will all stand up one by one and introduce yourself to the class, including your affinity and Element"

Cassius instructed the class after positioning himself in front with a notebook in his hand. the first student to stand up was the Blonde girl.

"My name is Alisa Clerk, My father is an Earl and I am attending Phoenix Academy to increase my knowledge in magic. My Element is Earth and I am ranked 8 in terms of Affinity"

Alisa was quite beautiful compared to the other Nobles, she had bright blue eyes and silky smooth skin which attracted the gaze of almost everyone in the classroom. Alisa glanced at Lucifer who seemed to be sleeping which enticed a feeling of rage within her.

"Thank you, Alisa, I will now give you some feedback on the Earth element so listen closely. Earth is a defensive element however once awakened it has a chance of transforming into a devastating Element such as lava, although there are further advancements such as metal and nature it all depends on your luck"

"Thank you, teacher,"

Alisa took a seat with a bright smile, the next person to stand up was a young man with blonde hair who resembled Alisa stood up with a confident expression.

"My name is Lewis Clerk I am Alisa's older brother. My element is Earth and I have a high affinity of the 9th rank"

"Quite talented the same goes for you Lewis as I have mentioned before earth focuses on the defensive at the primary stages but that doesn't mean its weak keep working hard. Next"

a girl with midnight blue hair took her stand she had deep blue eyes which emitted a mysterious aura.

"My name is Alice Magnus, I come from a house of Mage's and my element is water. My affinity with water is at rank 9, thank you"

"As expected from the daughter of Lord Magnus, hopefully, you too will awaken ice like your father"

Alice also took a seat as she nodded her head, Ray seemed to be interested in her which cause Lucifer to giggle.

"So you want that one?"

Ray's face turned red with embarrassment causing him to lower his head.

"Alright, your name is Ray right?"

Cassius pointed at Ray signalling him to stand up and introduce himself.

"My name is Ray Violet I-i am a commoner"

The room went into a frenzy a commoner had never appeared in Phoenix academy before especially in Class 1.

"Quiet down class"

"My element is Fire and I have a high affinity of 9"

Due to the nobles presence Ray couldn't help but look down in shame, his social status could not be compared with people like Lewis or Alice.

"Fire is a very destructive element, if not controlled properly it could bring harm to the user and his surroundings so you must train carefully, upon awakening there are various paths a fire magician can pursue however that depends on your luck, you may take a seat."

"T-Thank you"

Ray took a seat and covered his face confusing Lucifer. Whats with him?

A few more introductions took place before it was finally Lucifers turn to stand up.

"My name is Lucifer Morningstar"

Lewis began to laugh

"What kind of a name is that?, does he really think he is a Mythical being?"

Lucifer frowned upon Lewis's reaction, he carefully snapped his finger causing Lewis to choke as he began to violently cough. it lasted for a few seconds before Cassius noticed what was going on, he carefully signalled Lucifer to stop.

"Choking on your words?, I thought that was a figure of speech"

Lucifer smirked at Lewis enraging him. Due to his high social standing, he couldn't bear to receive insults from a mere commoner.

"As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, my name is Lucifer Morningstar. My element is Dark and I have a high affinity of 10"

"Evil!"

Multiple students got up and retracted from Lucifer, the element Dark was seen as the source of evil and according to the church deserved to be cleansed by Light.

"Alright class calm down"

Cassius managed to calm everyone down before making take their seats again.

"Lucifer although the element is seen as a source of evil it is not always used for evil, magic doesn't choose your path the path is chosen by the magician you all must understand this before entering the path of a magician. Dark is a very dangerous element due to its destructive power, although the awakening does not follow specific paths what makes it especially strong is that fact that each of these paths can be accessed rather than being forced onto one"

The whole class were staring at Lucifer some due to disdain whilst some in envy. Dark was the only element that enabled the user to obtain various types of magic. on the other hand elements such as water could only follow one, once awakened the user would be forced onto one path for example either Ice or snow.

"Ok everyone settles down the main class is about to begin, today I will be explaining how you can access your status window. it is actually quite simple, focus your magic energy and simply speak out "Status Window"

A Blue screen appeared before Cassius causing the whole class to gasp in excitement. the class was required to access their status window by the end of the day. the first person to access the status window was naturally Lucifer.

"Status Window"

A blue window appeared before Lucifer showing him information about his rank and status.

Strength - ??? Defence - ??? ...................

Most of his stats could not be displayed as it could not be measured by the system. After a while, a few other students began to successfully summon the status screen including Ray.

Rank - Novice 0 (0/200) ---- Affinity decreases the amount of XP needed to rank up Rank 10 - 50 Rank 9 - 200 Rank 8 - 800 Rank 7 - 3200 etc

Strength - 4 Agility - 3 Defence/Magic Def - 4 Intelligence - 9

"Now that you all understand how to summon your Status window I will pass onto you the method to obtain experience through cultivating magic energy, although hunting monsters is a faster way to Rank up it can be dangerous at your level"

Cassius demonstrated the cultivation technique which mainly involved circulating the magic energy around the body, most of the students picked it up quickly due to their high affinity. the class ended there as Cassius had something important to do.

"Ray where are you going?"

Lucifer stopped Ray who seemed to be in a rush.

"I need to train and get stronger, I'm heading to my room to cultivate"

"That's boring..."

Ray couldn't understand Lucifers thoughts, how could he find magic boring?

"Well ill see you tomorrow, we don't have class so we can meet here at 12"

"Alright..."

Ray ran off leaving Lucifer behind, he wasn't really interested in following the system. he didn't lack power so why did he have to train, if he wanted to he could destroy this world with a flick of his wrist.

"Hey isn't that the guy with Dark magic? what was your name again"

Lewis walked out with his sister and a few other, Alice didn't seem to be interested so she left the scene.

"Don't get happy, just because a commoner like you got into Phoenix academy doesn't mean you're accepted by us"

Lewis tried to intimidate Lucifer however it didn't seem to work.

"Why exactly should I care about your opinion?"

"THAT'S ENOUGH!"

Lewis swung his fist towards Lucifer with all his force, however, his punch didn't land on Lucifer's face. it had actually been caught by Lucifer.

"Bugs like you annoy me the most"

Lucifer put a little bit of force into his hand causing him to crush Lewis's fist. the crowd behind Lewis backed away due to fear, none of them had trained in close combat so they wouldn't dare to go against him.

"UGH"

Lewis rolled around in pain, he hadn't expected his hand to be crushed so easily by Lucifer. He planned to get revenge on him due to the events that had unfolded in class.

"Since we're done here ill take my leave, enjoy your day gentlemen"

Lucifer walked over Lewis's body which was now on the floor heading towards the direction of Alice, who seemed to be dazed. she walked away as she already knew the outcome of the fight however she hadn't expected Lewis to be the one on the floor.

"Well hello there, I'm quite bored mind if I tag along with you"

"what...."

Alice slowly regained her composure.

"where are you heading?"

She hadn't expected Lucifer to talk to her so casually since her father was an Arch-Mage no one dared to get close to her or even speak to her at least.

"I'm heading back to my room to cultivate"

"Perfect we can cultivate together, in your room of course"

"I-In My R-Room"

Alice turned completely red, she raised her hand and slapped Lucifer with all her strength. she rushed out of the building heading towards the girl's dorm.

"What I only wanted to cultivate with her, more humans I get to converse with the better. maybe I should have worded my previous statement carefully...."

"Since I have nothing to do I might as well follow the system of this world, let's see why humans are so attracted to magic."

Lucifer headed back to his room and shut the door behind himself.
