《A Traveller's Journey; A litRPG Tale. (part 1 complete.)》Chapter 12: Floor Guardian Fracture
Advertisement
Floor guardian Fracture the first boss in the dungeon was scary for all players. From the maxed out stats, it's easy to see that he was meant as a party boss. With 2000 Attack power, the skills that the boss used would probably break through the defence of most players.
The hairy limbs of this spider boss suddenly came to life, jerking out to stab Peter in the chest. Although the boss had an impressive speed, the room was a bit too congested for it to utilise it to the fullest.
In terms of agility, Peter wasn't lacking either. Matching the movement from the boss, Peter dodged right and left by a thin thread. There were occasional scratches that couldn't break through his defence. The scratches were still efficient since Peter had considerably less health compared to the monsters.
Although it was only one health point, it was still not something that Peter could squander.
After a few exchanges, slowly the rhythm was met and Peter could dodge the attacks more efficiently. A few more exchanges were traded and Peter slowly took the offensive.

At the current pace, the damage necessary to beat this beast was too high. Peter knew he had to do something to lower the health. Till now Peter didn't have any special skills or passives that could help him get an enemy down.
The sword kept moving around the legs but the wounds were not sharp enough to reduce the spider's speed. Health now stable, the stamina became the biggest issue to Peter. As the fight dragged on, the stamina would soon deplete to 0.
'Maybe the legs aren't its vitals?'
The best spot to hit an enemy was its head, but getting past these legs was harder. Although it only used two legs to attack, it didn't mean that the others can't be used. There was a high chance that it might use the others if its vocals were threatened. But if the fight went on and he lost stamina, his agility would be reduced by half. Now Peter was forced to take that gamble.
Peter rushed into the centre when the spider thrust its legs towards his chest. The sudden movement caught the spider of guard causing a momentary pause in the attack. Not a second to waste, Peter attacked the spider with the sword, slashing across the neck bending towards one of its leg joints resulting in a massive damage figure.
-150,000
One of the legs was chopped off. The boss curled up a bit and jumped back toward the centre of the hall, keeping its distance from Peter. As soon as the leg was chopped out, the spider lost its agility considerably and became slightly disoriented. Moving about in a zig-zag manner, it rushed at Peter with enraged eyes. To Peter who now possessed superior agility, this was child's play.
The to and fro continued for some time and soon something had to give. Another long was torn off by Peter.
-200,000
Although the damages were great, the boss still had a staggering 4.5 million health. This wasn't something a solo player could cope with. Soon Peter felt the fatigue. The exhaustion was slowly catching up to him and the stamina was at a dangerous low.

Peter had to end the fight fast or he would have died for nothing. The best way to kill the giant spider was to chop off its limbs one by one. From what he noticed each limb added more damage to the attacks as a bonus and chopping one off dealt massive damage.
With stamina hitting rock bottom, Peter was in a similar situation to the spider with slightly better agility. The grind was tiresome and son he was able to remove another one of its legs.

Sicily and her party were excited to test out the new weapons they received. With such powerful items, their levelling speed took another steady increase and soon they were able to grind to level 25. The best damage dealing class was archers due to the bonus damage given by the system to negate the missing shots. Being proficient in archery from childhood, Sicily rarely missed.
Level 25 had significance in the game since it helped unlock the guild charters. These were missions to strengthen the guild but receiving one required owning a headquarters. With the announcement of a two-way currency exchange, the coin price has slightly dipped to a 1:900 rate. Apart from adapt crafters, no one could afford a higher amount of gold at the moment.
"Are we buying an instance or a shop? I dont think we can afford a territory or manage it."
Sicily paused for a second, "I think we should get a shop first. It only costs 10,000 gold and we can make it into headquarters for the time being. It will also help sell his stuff without those auction house charges."
"We barely have the gold, would not it be nice if we wait and buy one of the shops closer to the main streets? I saw the cheap shops, they are all near the slums. "
"Even if we want to we can't afford it yet. Let's go from small to big. We also don't have that much money to squander."
"Ok. Did you pick a name for the guild yet? If we are planning to make one, it should sound awesome."
"What about 'Rocking girls'?"
"Peter isn't a girl."
"Super Guild?"
"Lame."
"OP girls and boys?"
"Are you that dumb?"
"Ok, I agree. That wasn't good at all."
"So, what do we name the guild?"
"We will ask Peter too. Maybe he will have some good ideas."

'I forgot about that one. Looks like I will have to leave now.'
With little choice, Peter went back to the entrance of the dungeon regretting the loss of 10 gold. He rushed down to the Alder river bank to find the girl. The girl was back where Peter met her before, again playing in the sand.
"You came back. I thought you forgot about me?" The girl kept staring at Peter knowingly.
"No, I just wanted to make sure I was strong enough." Said Peter scratching his head.
"Yeah, like I believe that." She kept staring at him and then continued, "Being strong is good too."
She stopped and turned around.

Breaking the chains (part 1)
The fiend Melvustat has regained consciousness and is planning to recruit an army of devilspones. Find and kill the fiend before he kills the gatekeeper to Hellspore. Follow Alder for further instructions.
Meet Alder at the bottom of the river.
You have received a breath weed.
"What are you waiting for, move it. It's already late." Saying so, Alder jumped into the river.
Peter placed the breath weed in his mouth. The thing looked like a straw and as he entered the water, he was able to suck in air through the weed.
He could see a distant silhouette of the girl and kept following her downwards soon reaching what looked like a rupture in the river bed. Alder was waiting for him outside. It looked like the place was inside a huge air bubble.
As Peter approached, she started talking. "It's an easy job. Just get past the mob inside and you will see a gate with a keyhole. Just plug the sword inside and I will activate the sword aura. It's powerful so make sure you back away fast."
"What about the mobs?"
"I will distract them. You are too low level. They probably won't hunt you. Why are you worried? You will come back to life anyways."
"When you put it like that..." Peter looked into the fissure and felt a pang of fear reaching into him.
"Don't forget to move away before I activate the sword aura. It's deadly to anything below tier 3 classes. Only tier 5 can handle the pain." Alder reminded him again before rushing inside.
Peter stared at Alder pulling all the mobs away from the gate in awe and whispered, "hmm" only to carefully make his way towards the gate. Peter didn't attract any attention to himself and easily plunged the sword into the keyhole. It was quite big for a keyhole.
As soon as Peter moved far enough from the gate, Alder activated the sword aura. A blinding light lit the area and screams of anguish rose from behind the gate. Soon, it died down and Alder resealed the sword ending the light show under the river.
Once the sound died down, Alder became extremely aggressive killing off the mobs instantly. She strolled towards Peter on her small feet.
"Nice, the fiend should be near death now. Easy kill see."
"You could have killed it on your own, right?"
"Why take the risk? This way it will be a lot weaker and we don't have to waste too much effort. If I used my full strength before it would have run away. I'm not as fast as it and I definitely can't enter Hellspore."
"So what now?"
"Stand back, I will break open the door and you can kill it."
"Ok."
As soon as Peter cleared from the area, Alder blasted the door open with a punch. The flying debris tore one of the corpses inside into two.
"Phew, ok go and see where that brat is. Don't worry he is disabled now and won't be able to hurt you."
Peter entered through the gate and found a charred body and a half-dead bloody blob. It had a few protrusion which might have been limbs once before. It slowly wiggled trying to move away from Peter but its injuries were quite heavy.
"Alder there are two bodies here."
"The one alive must be the fiend you should kill."
Peter took his sword and minced the blob into fine meat and notification of completion rung out. He turned around and returned to Alder's side.
"Who was the other guy?"
"Probably the gatekeeper. Who cares, they are demons anyway."
"Right."
Congratulations you completed 'Breaking the chains part 1. Part two will unlock when you reach tier 3.
Find Alder at the administration office in Hedgesnow to receive your rewards.
"Kid, find me in the town. You were quite helpful and I'm supposed to reward you for helping."
"Yes, Ma'am."
The little kid slowly changed form to become a beautiful lady with show white hair and blue eyes. And then she teleported to elsewhere.
Peter placed the seaweed in his mouth and slowly swam back to the surface.
He reached the river bank and walked back to the town. Before heading toward the office building, he checked the bank to see if the coins were exchanged.
The exchanged coins had earned him a huge 5,723,000 bucks making him rich instantly. The money was safely transferred to his linked account.
Peter had known he would get somewhere around it, but it still made him stunned to see his account balance.
'Well, this game isn't that bad at all.'
