Twenty Seventh day Eleventh Month Four Thousand and Six Hundred and forty-four rings of the Great White Tree
Lancia Ap Brwydr
From the cover of the forest he surveyed the prison. It was a massive fortification with walls at least thirty metres high. According to the rescued prisoners the union was using this as prison for elves and orcs it had captured at from the battle. It also held the elves from the elven cities that had fallen to the union since the battle. It had only been a couple days since they had received the news that the city of Dyffryn Gwanwyn had fallen to the union and that Prince Gwrdd had been killed resisting the union conquest of his city.
He was starting to regret volunteering for this mission, and he would really have liked some advice from his friend Brydyddoon, however a few weeks back the bard had left the camp to spread his song and raise the resistance against the invading union army. He had promised to return. However, he was still missing.
Before they had headed out on the mission Ysgolhaig as quartermaster of the army had dug up some black leather suits that they were using to blend into the night and infiltrate the fortress. Where Ysgolhaig had dug up the suits was a mystery. Devin had also given him a few more enchanted bullets. Devin was with the few mages which had stayed with the army. There were only three mages left with the army.
The old elf he called his Grandfather had stayed by the Cyffredinol’s side. After the dopplegangers attack the Cyffredinol seemed more relaxed having Grandfather by his side. They were waiting with the rest of the army hidden just outside of the main gates ready to charge in once he and his infiltrators opened the gates.

Under the light of moon and the stars the Lancia and his squad advanced up to the fortification. He could see a couple of sentries up on the wall but before they could sound the alarm two arrows buried themselves into the throats of the guards silencing them forever. He looked over at Saethwr who had made the two shots in quick succession from his bow. He nodded his head in approval.
Crefyddol approach the wall and began climbing his way up the wall. How he propelled himself up the steep wall using only his hands and feet, Lancia was unable to say. Crefyddol had volunteered for assignment but was reluctant to say where he picked up the skills to make the climb. Lancia was just glad he didn’t have to order someone to make the dangerous descent to the top. Once Crefyddol was on top of the wall he secured a rope to the top, dropping it down to the squad that waited below.
This allowed the rest of the group to climb to the top. Lancia watched as Morwyn made her way up the wall, even with her lithe, feminine frame, she made it look easy climbing up the wall, he was concentrating on watching her that he forgot that it was his turn to climb up the wall. Cyn had to tap him on the shoulder and point to the rope.
Eventually he made it to the top of the wall, and he took stock of his soldiers. Only three of his original comrades had joint him on this raid there was Crefyddol, dependable Cyn who looked lost without his pike but now carried a vicious looking machete, there was Dyn Blaidd who spotted the doppleganger that had attacked the Cyffredinol the keen huntsman was keeping his eyes out for the enemy. He carried a small woodsman axe or tomahawk.

Next to him was Morwyn who moved like a with a predator grace and was ready to strike her twin blades drawn and at the ready. Watching her move through the night he felt both confident and uncertain at the same time. He was scared that something would happen to elf that now dominated his life.
There was Saethwr with his bow at the ready. The loner Cot Las who was now an outcast from his home Dyffryn Dwfin which had allied itself with the union he carried a normal sword. The silent phoenix guard Coch who carried a large glaive. There was Gochaf the professional soldier who was very similar to Cyn however Gochaf was cannoneer and he had confided with Lancia that he felt a bit lost without a cannon. He carried a cavalry sabre
Finally, an orc made up his last member of his squad Boyuk Doyuscu. Lancia was still not sure why the orc insisted that he be part of the infiltration squad. However, the huge orc would certainly come in handy if they ran into trouble.
They made their way along the top of the wall towards the main entrance, when two human soldiers making their rounds appeared before them. Without giving a command Morwyn moved silently towards the soldiers silently her blades struck down the hapless men before they even knew what hit them.
They crept down the stairs that lead to the gate house where they would open the gates for the rest of the confederate army who waited outside. When he heard a guard yell.
“Hey what are “
Before he could finish his sentence, the tomahawk belonging to Dyn Blaidd had buried itself into the chest of the soldier. The guard collapsed to the ground.
Two more guards appeared out of the night, Morwyn quickly dispatched one, before she could dispatch the second the orc Boyuk had decapitated the soldier with one swing of his sabre.
More soldiers appeared coming out of the gatehouse and it quickly dissolved into a violent brawl.
Coch fought three soldiers simultaneously his glaive was about 7 feet long with a long blade almost 18 inches of steel that he used to cut down his opposition.
A soldier came at him attacked him with a sword, he parried the sword and quickly plunged his sword into the soldier. He watched as the soldier breathed his last breath and died. Lancia was so focused on this that he didn’t see a union soldier approach him from behind. A sword attached to his musket the soldier aimed at Lancia exposed back.
Morwyn’s sword deflected the attack, and she quickly disposed of the human.
“What would you do without me protecting you”
She teased
He smiled and replied
“Without you I would probably die”
“You two, stop your flirting we should be silent”
Cautioned Cyn.
Lancia sighed, Cyn was correct the whole idea of this infiltration was to open the gates and overpower the guards with minimum loses for the confederation. Coch was already opening the gate. Once the gate was opened the elves and orcs that were waiting outside entered. With these reinforcements they continued the liberation of the prison.

The Saga of Geir Røshjert
"His name will never be sung, son. Skalds and bards like me will never tell his stories to the mass. But only us and us alone will keep telling his story, his actions, his saga. For he is the man who started all of this." This is a story no man in Lumenter will ever hear, no man except for an Arnesen, for his stories are dull and generic to the ears of the masses, except for us, because he is the very reason why our people traveled this far east, why kingdoms in Erisgi fell and rose, why I... even existed in the first place. He is Geir, son of Arne, called 'the Stranger' by the people. But what he truly is, is a fiery red heart that beats inside every Eyklandian, Arnesen, and me.
