《A God's Pub》Are you fuckin' kidding me?

“There is a battle in the shopping quarters!!”, shouts and cries echoed through the streets as the message of a fierce battle between a powerful fox race member and a giant of unknown background spread across the city.
Fights were no rarity in the city of a billion names, where hundreds of races and billions of even more particular beings live together, but it was rare for a fight of this level to be held within the compounds of the city. Most powerful figures chose to fight inside the hundreds of hidden pocket realms that were scattered across many low-key buildings, while the fights of weaker beings had no impact on the general security of the streets.
This time however two powerful being had seemingly out of nowhere begun their terrifying clash and took the lives of hundreds of innocent bystanders.
Inside a small, but expensive establishment that was widely known for their excellent roasted five colored peacock Tian and Mr. Sherevile enjoyed a feast consisting of hundreds of dishes plates onto the gigantic table in front of them.
Tian had taken his human form and was wolfing down multiple dishes at a time, his expression being a mix of bliss and happiness. Mr. Sherevile sat next to him and sipped at the unusually strong whiskey in his cup.
His wrinkled cheeks were slightly red and his eyes unfocused. He was obviously drunk, which was no wonder considering that the ‘whiskey’ in his cup had 99 percent alcohol inside it. Unlike Tian who was constantly occupied with chewing he was muttering some incomprehensible sentences and sometimes yelling at the beautiful waitresses that from time to time came with more food and drinks.
Suddenly Tian’s ears perked up like the ears of a cat. He stopped eating and put down his plate. Mr. Sherevile frowned.
“Y-you fuuull alrady?”, he asked surprised.

Tian’s expression had turned serious. He gravely looked over to the old dwarf.
“We have to safe Saji. NOW!”, without waiting for Mr. Sherevile to respond he transformed into his dragon form and shot out of the establishment. The left alone Mr. Sherevile blinked twice. He closed his eyes for a second, reaching out with his spirit to search for Saji. When he had opened his eyes again his complexion had returned to it’s normal color and his eyes were focused and sharp.
Without another word, he simply disappeared from his seat.
…
Sha was furious. His anger had long since reached a peak and burned even hotter more ferocious then the flames he was constantly creating around himself.
This fight was ridiculous!
Originally it should have been easy for him to take out the giant in front of him. Giants were large and had powerful and durable bodies. In terms of toughness and raw strength there were few races that could compare to them if you excluded gods and demigods.
But even though their physical abilities were extraordinary amongst the countless races, they had no other abilities. For a fox race member who could control a terrifying sea of fire and burn down whole blocks it should have been easy to take care of some brutish berserker, no matter how powerful his body was.
Yet Sha wasn’t able to reach the giants body. Countless magical shields floated around the humongous mountain of flesh and blocked of most of his flames. They came from almost a dozen talismans that were inscribed onto the rough pale skin of the giant.
Until now Sha had only achieved to break through two of the 11 shields and the only damage the giant receive was a nasty burn on his back. Sha on the other hand was covered in small injuries and his white pelt was drenched in his own blood.

He fletched his teeth and channeled his anger into the flames surrounding him. A blue flower of flames bloomed around him and turned into a ray of blue light as Sha made another charge. The temperature around him rose further and further until it melted everything he passed.
Then he banged into the nine semi-transparent shields. A fierce explosion rung out and a storm of fire and dust kicked up and turned the surroundings into a purgatory. Loud cracks rung out and another five shields broke under the tremendous impact.
The giant swung its enormous arm and blew the tattered fox into the next building. Another explosion rung out and the entire building collapsed.
Blood run down the giant’s head and one of his eyes was squashed into a bloody mile of white flesh. His giant body faltered but stabilized. If it wasn’t for the nine shields blocking off most of the impact his head would have exploded into a pile of gore.
A small moan rung out from collapsed building and Sha, now in his human form rose from the pebbles. A fierce smile played on his lips and a hint of madness fleshed in his blood-shoot eyes.
“Got you fucker.”
Sha’s body was tattered, his hair disheveled and blood run down from a number of injuries, but his presence was mightier then ever. The crazed smile broadened as another flower of flames blossomed around him.
…
Saji stared at the young man in front of her. He was handsome, but something in the way he looked at her made him seem very simple minded. To be honest he somehow looked like a fool.
Despite that she kept the two koi ready for attack, with a single order they would strike at that unfamiliar person.
The young man mustered her curiously and especially took a good look at the two-koi next to her. He seemed to realize something as his expression lightened up upon seen the koi.
“Why do those two koi carry the presence of my benefactor?”, he asked innocently.
Saji took a moment to understand his strange question and who this ‘benefactor’ was. But then she realized who he was talking about. The two koi came from the talisman Ji gave her. This mend that the presence they could give off was most likely Ji’s and that this strange youth was looking for Ji.
She was about to reply when suddenly a strong explosion occurred. She hurriedly looked towards the area where Sha and the giant were fighting and saw Sha’s small figure as it was flung into a nearby building.
Then she saw how the injured Sha slowly rose up from what was left of the collapsed building and his crazed eyes as he stared at the wounded giant.
“Got you fucker.”, his voice, neither loud nor quiet, reached her.
Her mind raced as she thought of ways to help him. Then she turned over to the youth, her eyes determined.
“I will tell you if you kill that giant!”, she said, hoping that the youth would simply do what he was told.
And just as she thought he simply gave a nod.
“Sure.”, he smiled and pointed a finger at the giant. A small flash of light appeared.
Just as Sha was about to head into his final clash with the giant, the later collapsed. A large hole had magically appeared in his head and destroyed his brain.
Sha dumbfoundedly stared at the rapidly cooling corpse. The raging flames around him simply disappeared and he fell onto his butt.
“Are you fuckin’ kidding me?”, his disbelieving voice rung through the now silent area.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
