《How to God 101》Chapter 2: The Academy PART I

Chapter 2
Pushing my eyes open I stared at the wooden ceiling of my personal little dimension, sadness reaching up from the depths of my being.
This little dimension of mine was a reminder of how weak I was, of how little power I possessed.
It was a reminder to keep going forward and never giving up. Pushing those sad, dark thoughts away, I also pushed myself off of the couch I was on.
Standing up I yawned and stretched slightly before checking how long it had been since I closed my eyes.
Not too long by the looks of it, a mere year has passed.
Maybe a bit too long but it was alright, I didn't lose on much.
An Angel study period ranges from 5000 years to 50,000 years, which while quite a staggering amount for younger races, is not that long.
For me though, it was very long, since I myself am 'very' young.
Putting that aside, I thought about what type of angel I'd kidnap.. I mean 'persuade' to join and help me.
Thinking about the year levels at the Academy, I should aim for the lower years, for someone similar to my age since it'd be easier to train them that way.
First levels study for 50 years, while second levels study for 250. So these were the two levels I'd aim to get my angel from.
I hope I can find an angel for myself today.
I may be a god, but learning the lesser race knowledge was no easy feat, because my intelligence while high, is not something I wish to dedicate to astrology and geophysics.
I had to cram my body full of other more important knowledge, which I'd pursue later on, as I had a task in front of me right now.
My stretching finished, I walked towards my front door and thought of 'Univ Cos Sol Academy', the greatest of all Angel academies and opened my front door.
In the distant it stood in all of its glory, the planetary Academy, so large is consisted of trillions of souls with more than enough space left over.
Taking the sight in, I moved on.
I had appeared in front of one of the many 'Entry's, which was were all Gods, Higher Races and Lesser Races appeared when they came to the Academy.
It was sort of like reception desk.
While the lesser races had long queues which stretched for thousands of miles, the higher races had to wait in the 'Entry' waiting rooms while the Gods, like myself, could simply walk past the 'Entry' and go straight into the academy.
Even though I was a low tier god, I was still miles above everyone else here in position.
Snickering to myself, I made my way past entry and entered the academy, under the envious gaze of all the other races.
Some of them were looking at me at in hope of catching my attention, some of the more beautiful beings from the lesser and higher races even began to 'beautify' themselves then and there, by unbuttoning their top buttons exposing more cleavage, pulling their skirts up to reveal more thigh and casting extremely attractive flirty glances my way.

The prettiest of the bunch was an Azarian, the most advanced race known to the Triumvate of Power and were second only to Angels and Gods.
Even though she was an Azarian, there was almost a hundred quintillion Azarians so she was no one really special.
Actually maybe she was special, she was pretty far up in the line and only needed another 50 years to get in. Maybe she was a noble.
She probably thought I'd give her quick entry into the academy if she could win me over with lust.
I mean I could, and I'd be getting more connections on the inside as she would owe me immensely.
I decided to not take her in, but I'd take that one Fikronian child.
Since she got me to look at the people in the line I noticed he was a bit different.
He was around 4000 years back in the line but I felt he had something special, maybe it just reminded me of the past, but nonetheless I warped the kid in front of me.
He had short flaming red hair which extended all the way to his ankles, as well as having incredibly deep blue eyes, much like an ocean world. He was also very cute, like a hug-able plush. Adorable.
Smiling at him I said a mere three words.
Markas: “You owe me” to which he nodded immensely.
That aside I ignored everyone else since none of the people here had what I need.
And that was Angel status.
So ignoring them all, I entered the Academy, much to everyone else’s disappointment and shock, especially the pretty Azarian.
She looked flabbergasted as how I chose a 'lesser race' over her and many of the other Azarians in the line looked at me with anger and hate.
Like I cared what others thought about me.
Carrying the little Fikronian child I began to talk to him as I walked into the academy.
Markas: “So, what is your name kid?” I asked him to which he quickly tried to reply but bit his tongue.
He was only 11 and the shock of talking with a god was probably too much for him.
H-: “H- H- He-” he kept stuttering with his childish voice, which was charming for some reason as his embarrassment kept increasing until I patted his head.
Markas: “Calm down child, I won't bite” even though Fikronians were quite a delicacy amongst higher races I wasn't going to eat this kid.
Hellgin: “Hellgin...” he paused as he said his name “My name is Hellgin, Master Great Lord God” he replied to which I laughed.
That was quite the title, and I didn't have the courage to go around claiming such a name, not to other gods at least.
Markas: “Just call me Markas, or if that is to much for you, just call me 'Lord', alright?” I asked him to which nodded.
Good kid I thought as I patted his head.
But I realised he was getting lots of glares from the other people in the line.
They all looked at him with open hate and anger but when I glanced towards the people who were making them, they all turned around or looked towards the ground in fear.

Pathetic, but whatever.
I entered the academy with the kid in my arms and then warped towards reception and dropped the kid on the table which shocked the 'High Angel' lady sitting there.
She looked up at me and then back to the kid several times in shock and curiosity.
Markas: “I, Markas, a God, backed this kids education, treat him well” and with that I walked away leaving two shocked people.
On my way to my original destination I was surprised at the fact that there were no other gods here.
I was sure there would be a few at least, I mean who doesn't need angels.
But whatever, better chance for me to kidnap someone... I mean 'persuade'.
I concentrated on the 'Headmaster of Student Discipline' Tizares, an 40,000 year old Angel.
He stood there with his androgynous features which even made my heart skip a beat occasionally as well as being perfect in almost all regards.
He was like a delicate statue, his beautiful long silver hair glimmering brightly as his beautiful gold eyes shined.
But all that aside, he was quite a poor bastard as he would probably never make it to God Hood, but he at least reached the position of Angel Ascendant, just one step below the highest Angel Rank, which was Supreme Ascendant Angel which was just one rank lower than the realm of gods.
Focusing on him, I warped in front of him, and there he stood, in front of a dozen pretty little (by the perspective of a god) girls.
These were 'Wingless', the race just before 'Winged' which would then reach 'Lesser Angel'. These must all be low ranking students, 'very' low ranking students.
But what were they doing in a Angel Ascendants room?
Oh... Well I got my answer very quickly.
He had a lusty look in his eyes and these little girls were fine morsels I guess.
But the moment I warped in the room (which was literally a second ago) his eyes immediately went back to looking radiant.
Such a bullshit artist.
But I couldn't really care, if servicing an Angel Ascendant who get you to rank up, most of these girls would do so in a heart beat, which they were just about to.
Nonetheless, because of me, they were all dismissed.
Tizares: “Girls, I'll have you all leave for now, I'll call upon you again in the future should I still need to” he said so with his charmingly deep voice and with that they all begrudgingly left, while giving me a death glare as if I wouldn't notice them.
Such bold girls, 'I'm so scared', I thought as I chuckled.
They left the room, leaving me and Tizares face to face.
Tizares: “Markas, such a surprise visit from you, how may I help you?” he inquired to which I smiled. “Last time you were here” he said looking over me “Well, you were not so mighty” he said with a chuckle.
Markas: “I've gone even further now you know, I'm no longer a Newling, I'm now a Lesser God, with my own planet and system” I told him to which his eyes widened in shock.
Tizares: “You.. You've become a god?!” he asked as a look of envy and anger flashed across his face before turning into a happy grin “A thought you had become more powerful, but a god! Such beautiful news my lord” he quickly recovered as he made a bow.
Smiling back at him I nodded.
Markas: “I'd like you to bring up the roster for failing first and second levels” I told him plainly to which he had a confused reaction.
Tizares: “Failing? But... why?” he asked me as he couldn't comprehend why a new god would want to waste time on a failure “I'm sure there are plenty of angels far more capable than 'that' student, let me bring up those files” he said so with disgust but I waved him off.
Markas: “None of those higher class students would accept my invitation” I said so plainly “Because I apprentice under no one, my planet is dead and I have the task to give life to it myself with no aid from anyone” and as those words escaped my lips he had a look of pity cross his eyes.
Tizares: “Such sad news, but at least you are now a god you know, that has got to be worth something, and a 'God of Creation' at that, even if you are at a disadvantage” as he said so he brought out a single piece of paper with one line of writing on it and passed it over to me “That is the only failure in the lower levels” his voice still contained a tinge of disgust.
Looking over the files I saw the one angel, from the first year.
I chuckled as I read his file.
[Mephis Topheles, Lesser Angel, Age 24, level 1, 2/10 grades, failure]
Not bad I thought to myself, this kid would have no choice but to join or me, or he'd be expelled soon since you need a minimum of 5/10 to pass.
And no one, I mean no one, wanted the stigma of having failed Angel Academy.
Smiling at Tivares I nodded.
Markas: “Call him, we've got lots of talking to do” to which he Tivares sighed sadly.
Authors Note:
I'll be adding a lot of comedy into the next few chapters after I get the required information I have to convey to the readers out of the way.
Also, I'll be keeping Markas's past hidden for a while as it adds more mystery to the character, and I sort of like it that way.
Also just a note incase people were wondering, the planet creation arc will last awhile... it's not easy creating a planet you know, in real or in theory.
For me anyways.
Anyways, Peace!

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all.
