"Are you going to keep on harrasing him? He's just a mortal. I don't understand your fixation on him."
Said a female voice in a white expanse of nothing.
"My fixation? I tried to look into his future but nothing showed. That only happens when someone ascends. The penalties were supposed to be limiters but now I don't think that that is enough. That is why I blocked his entry from that world. I mean, he caught even me by surprise. He's growing too fast and I needed some time to think up a plan."
Answered a second voice, this one was distinctly male.
The female voice snorted, " You're playing a dangerous game."
The male voice stayed silent.
(Chris P.O.V)
"My natural enemy? What are you even talking about? You know what? I am not in the mood right now. I have a score to settle with a certain someone. So if you don't mind, I'll go back to interrogating these three idiots over here."
I turned my back to her, ignoring her but still ready for an attack. Vertigo was breathing heavily in fear, The ninja was resigned and the Impaler was silent.
"Now, why don't you do yourselves a favor and tell me what I want to know. Where can I find her?
A hand fell on my shoulder. I had of course felt her coming thanks to my superior senses but I didn't do anything.
"What do you want?"
"The gods are responsible for most of my pain. Because of them, there are only two of us left alive. I can't let you walk this earth god-spawn."
I looked at her over my shoulder.
"Look, I understand having someone shit all over you because of their superior power. I am not a demi-god so trust me when I say there is no relation between the gods and I. Now, let go of my shoulder."
She tightened her hold on me. I tried again.
"Ok, how about this, lemme first deal with this issue in my hands right now and after I'm done tearing someone apart, we can have a good time trying to kill each other."
She didn't listen and increased the hold on my coat again. My hand closed into a fist and the tight control over my anger, I had learned to keep, slipped. I channeled the blue hard and my mind cleared but the damage was already done.
Someone had tried to control me. Before I could kill them, others had blocked me. Before I could punish them too, this bitch came and thought she could treat me like a piece of shit. I have zero fucks left to give. This isn't my world anyway, what do I care?
"Overdrive second form: Heatwave."
(Mary P.O.V)
I had felt a blast of power come from the city and panicked. That power had had a lot of divine essence. Greater than the downgraded version of it, otherwise called Creaton particles. These particles were as a result of the left over ashes from dead gods and my people. The ashes had combined with the earth's aether and a thousand years later, a few humans had started manifesting abilities.
My panic increased at the thought of the gods coming back but I opted to wait and observe. Hancock confronted the one with that power and just as I was about to go back him up they stopped fighting. I heaved a sigh of relief and dialed down my senses. 'Hancock probably felt the discharge of power and came to investigate, even though he has lost his memories. A small part of him must have recognized it.' I mused.

I looked at my shaking hands and calmed myself down. I still remember the horror of the war with the gods, millenias ago. My species were created by Mother Earth herself, Gaea, to destroy the self-absorbed gods before they destroyed the earth itself. We had had the strength, speed and immortality to match them and our durability far surpassed theirs. So the battle started. After countless years of bloodshed the last of the gods had been destroyed but not without massive losses on our side either.
Using his dying breath, Zeus himself had cursed us, with infertility and weakness when near each other. Only 2 members were left from a noble species of warriors and one of them was amnesiac. Remembering the past triggered the burning hatred my heart contained for gods and their spawns. I perked up when the god-spawn started engaging some enhanced humans. All this was possible to hear due to my supersenses.
I readied myself and flew there, determined to end the god-spawn once and for all. Arriving there, I was surprised at how young he was. Dressed in a vintage black suit, he was tall and well built. A handsome face and long black hair completed the image. I could sense great power in him as well as the other three, though to much lesser degree. My God killer heritage was calling out for blood.
We talked for a bit, as he tried to convince me he had no urge to fight me. I couldn't let him walk away though, so I placed a hand on his shoulder and from the way he tensed, I could tell he was getting mad. By this time I was too far gone to care. Being near a demi-god, though not fully, was calling out my bloodlust. I increased my grip on him. My instinct screamed for me to jump away, so I did.
That's when I witnessed, the Advent of something even more intimidating than a god, a true devil. My heart knew fear.
(Chris P.O.V)
I couldn't hold this form for long, only 2o seconds at most. That was enough however, for what I wanted to do. Overdrive second form: heat wave, increased my power by an unknown number of times. It was my strongest form so far and the riskiest. It worked on the principle of using 100% of the body's strength, utilising the latent energy stored in my cells, full body red-enhancement and small bursts of green to quickly heal my body before i broke all my bones and burst my vessels. Oh, it also came with the added effect of pain.
My eyes, had turned red and in a 5 meter perimeter around me, the temperature was hot enough to boil water in seconds. Hence the name heat wave. I slipped into my superspeed and saw Mary still staring at me in shock. She had already jumped away by that time. I followed her and grasped her neck. Her eyes bulged open and before she could react we were already far above the ground.
I threw her above me, flipped, formed a bubble to push me above her again and landed a devastating kick on her chest. She shot down towards an open grassland in the woods as her clothes started burning. The velocity proved to be too much and as she landed, forming a crater and devastating the area. Not even 5 seconds had passed.
I followed her and while she was down planted both of my feet on her belly. She coughed out blood and a punch to the temple had her promptly fainting. I was surprised for a bit,'that's it? I thought that the fight would be harder'. I shrugged and entertained the idea of smashing open her skull. If I let her live, she would still try to attack me again…and honestly I was sick and tired of everyone fucking with me just because.

First was ROD, second was the Ancient One, next Diana, even though that was mostly accidental, then Hancock who had attacked me for calling him an asshole, then that director bitch had tried to mind-rape me and then this stupid woman on the ground, who wanted to attack me because of a dumb reason. I'm done. The Grand Master, had advised me not to let my hate cloud my judgement but maybe I had mistaken his statement for being more passive. Reacting instead of acting.
I placed a foot above her head, ready to kill her before Hancock slammed into the ground before me. 7 seconds were gone and I was left with 13 seconds and dropping.
"Don't try to stop me Hancock or this time, things will turn out differently."
"I can't let you kill her..."
"Fuck off!"
I shouted punching him and throwing him away. I turned back and quickly saw Mary's prone body teleporting away in front of me. With my speed, I grabbed the end of her finger and found myself somewhere else.
I was in the middle of a lab with futuristic tech, all around. Mary was on the floor next to me. I looked up and on the another room, separated from the lab by a clear screen, I saw the ninja, vertigo, impaler, a few scientists and the bitch I had been looking for staring at me in shock. 'So she had been monitoring me still, huh? Once she felt me attack Hancock, she had had the ninja teleport Mary here. I wonder why? You know what...I don't even want to know anymore. I'm sick of this world.'
I placed a foot on Mary's neck and stepped on it. A loud crack sounded and the occupants in the room panicked in fear. The Ninja teleport infront of me, poised to stab me with his sword, I stole it from his hands and separated his head from his body. With my superspeed, everything seemed Frozen in time, I jumped, broke through the glass and landed on the next room right on top of vertigo, whose body splattered open underneath me.
Impaler was next, I stabbed the sword through his chest, in some ironic justice (because you know impaler, impales…so I impaled him…and I'm gonna stop.). Next was a shower of blood and limbs as I was trying to get to Hana. Everyone in that room was dead when I slipped out of my superspeed.
Hana was still looking at where I had been and suddenly appearing infront of her covered in the blood of her colleagues, she scrambled to get away, slipping on the blood lying on the floor. Her wide beautiful eyes were full of fear, though she never let it show on her face.
I dropped out of Overdrive:heat wave because this time, I wanted to pay her back personally. I had to learn to make my heart cold when needed and killing her under the effects of superspeed would make it too easy and probably weaken my resolve. No more passiveness.
"If you kill me, the whole facility is rigged to blow in the absence of my life signature. The same happens if I leave the premises."
I cocked my head to the side and propped the sword on my shoulder.
"And you think I care?"
"The blast will take out over 5 blocks, people will die!"
She shouted losing the smug look on her face and frantically tried to attack me mentally. I gaped at her. 'She sets the bomb up to blow and tries to convince me it will be my fault if people died?" I slapped her efforts aside, having channeled the blue from the first time I dropped overdrive.
"Your division is a bloodsucking tick that needs to be removed from the face of the Earth. The fact that you would endanger the same people you claim to try and protect, is despicable. Once you're dead, I'll make sure to destroy all your other bases."
Without talking anymore, I stabbed the sword through her belly. She screamed in pain and I took it out and stabbed her through her limbs. She was losing blood fast and tears were rolling down her cheeks. Her eyes frantic, full of regret as she knew her death was eminent. I formed a thick shield around me before bursting through the roof of the facility. Up in the air, I let go of my shields and tried another facet of my ability I had learned.
Normally I couldn't use my colors in conjunction with each other except for when I was in Overdrive:heat wave form. But I figured a trick to bypass that restriction, though it only worked on this one thing. I manifested a semi-circular shield over the whole building but only managed to cover 50 square meters of the 1000 square meters. I cut the connection to the bubble shield and only maintained it mentally.
Then I called upon the red and enhanced the shield's size. The shield turned a red-orange color and expanded to cover the whole facility. A minute later, the whole building exploded in a fiery blaze that would have taken out the rest of the surroundings if it wasn't for the shield covering it. I felt the mental difficulty of containing all that explosion in a tight space such as that so the explosion opted to go to the ground instead.
People started streaming out of the other buildings and cars on the road, running away from the cracks forming in the area. I cursed myself for not predicting this and tried to make the shield a sphere. Alas, it was too late and by the time I let the shield down there was a gaping hole where the facility had been. I looked around and apart from small injuries no one was hurt.
After everything had settled down people started pointing at me. I was breathing heavily on my trusty hover shield and directed it to start floating to the ground. The air picked up lightly and started flowing down to the gaping hole, then the rocks around the edge started getting sucked in, then the lamp post on the ground was pulled in too.
Something was wrong... My instincts were telling me that there was something happening inside the gaping hole but because I didn't get the foreboding feeling I usually did, when my life was on the line, I decided to investigate.
Floating on my shield. Debris was now getting pulled in though the force of the pull was not strong enough to suck me in. A couple of meters in, I saw a light shining brightly from deep in. Suddenly the pull intensified and I regretted it immediately as I was sent hurtling down towards the light. I formed a rope, to attach to something outside but unexpectedly, my rope construct hit a shield not unlike mine and bounced back.
I didn't have time to go into Overdrive before I felt a squeezing motion and the darkness.

Rebirth
Rebirth, the process of being reborn. Why does it happen and who really qualifies. We will seek to look into the these questions by following the life of Richard as we experiences this process first hand. We will follow his life and his fight against the evil blue boxes and what comes with all of them. ------------------------------- Update 04-24-18 Just ran a spelling and grammar check on the existing chapters and corrected a lot of little issues. ------------------------------- Just so you know, do not expect detailed sex scenes, or a lot of gore and such. Profanity is probably a given, I added the tag today....I mean you've seen how the Blue Box God talks....I'm shocked our MC has keep his cool so far. Also just FYI, I've got the entire per chapter outline complete for what will end up being book 1. That being said I've discovered over the years that a good outline lasts until you begin to wrote the chapter out. What that means is that even with a good outline because I tend to rethink thing out 4 or 5 times while I write them that it can hold up a chapter from being released. I'd rather hold up a story to make it flow better than rush something out. So while you might see at times a very aggressive release rate, at times you might wonder what happened to me because I've stopped posting. The reason being that after I wrote the chapter I decided it either sucked, didn't flow right or I just decided the direction things were headed no longer seemed right. So I'll stop, review and decide if I need to rewite all of the outlines to changes things up and then rewrite the chapter, or possibly go back and make changes to older chapters if needed. By the way, if I ever decide something needs to change, I will let you know which chapters changed and I'll give you a quick outline of the changes so you can skip the reread if you want. Yes a lot of this story will be told from the third person prespective, though we will listen to Richard tell his story. Expect a lof of behind the scene components. I've never published here before so expect it to take me a try or 2 to get an understanding of the formatting and such. Also I do not post a schedule. Sorry but real life always comes first but I will try and get things steddy.
