《The Melancholy Of Yamamoto Yuuto》Chapter 7-The Japanese Entertainment Club

Both sides of the pathway were surrounded in trees but it looked like the area near the building was clear and then I was finally at the front of the club
The club's building looked just like the school. It was built using dark brown wood and had that vintage feel to it. It was twice a normal classroom's size and was elevated 3 feet off the ground which was full of grass. The doors had wooden stairs attached to it to go into the building. It had a double slated book style roof which was made from black terracotta tiles place on one another and had two windows covered by curtains in the front. The area around the building had no trees and was clear
So this was the club she was in. I climbed the stairs and was in front of the entrance. For some reason I felt really nervous about entering
What if she wanted to be alone in her club and I was just bothering her. Maybe I was overstepping my boundaries and was being over familiar with her. Hell, I don't even know if she was in the club now
While I was fidgeting around thinking whether I should enter or not, a voice came from inside the building and said
“I know your there. Come in”
It was definitely Kisaragi-san's voice, I was quite surprised when I heard it. How did she know I was standing there? The doors were solid with no glass panels and the curtains were closed so there's no way she could have seen me from there. I looked around and found a CCTV camera near the top of the door
It was pointing towards the entrance so whoever was on the other side could see me. She must of found about I came through the camera. Now it's embarrassing to know that she saw me going around in circles thinking if I should enter or not. Does that mean she's looking at me now?
I looked at the camera closer and another voice from Kisaragi-san said
“Stop making stupid expressions at the camera and come in already!”
She seems pissed. I'll say a prayer to safeguard my balls before going inside
God save my balls
I opened the door slightly and peeked in and saw Kisaragi-san reading a book on a light brown sofa which was around the centre of the room facing towards the entrance. She held the book in one hand and kept the other on her lap and had her legs crossed over one another. With a cup of hot tea and biscuits on the low table in front of her, she looked like a dignified lady passing her time. I called out to her
“Excuse me for the disturbance”
While still reading the book she said
“Come in and close the door behind you”

I went in and closed the door and turned to see a glorious sight all otakus would kill for
Inside the building there was single large room that took most of the area and two doors on the left and right corners of the room. There were also two windows on the back of the room that were opened with the white curtains flailing in the wind. Also the walls and floor were made of polished light brown wood. But that was not what I was talking about. What was impressive was, the stuff inside the room
At the centre of the room was a brown low table with a black tinted glass slab on top. It had doors on the sides so you could keep stuff inside it and was on top of a light green carpet. Surrounding the table were four brown recliner sofas with buttons on the side. It consisted of two three-seaters
which were at the front and back of the table and two single-seaters which were on the left and right of the table. Behind the sofa Kisaragi-san was sitting on, there were two big red bean bags and in front of the bean bags opposite to the entrance was a large flat screen TV which was attached to the wall. Below it was a white slabbed tv shelf with all the latest gaming consoles, controllers and two speakers sitting on it. On both sides of the TV were two big black cupboards with glass doors and inside them were a load of anime figurine models. They were neatly arranged and properly sorted based on the anime, the characters belonged to. There were probably more than a 100 figurines in them. Next to cupboards were the two windows
On the left side of the room there were 5 wooden bookshelves lined up next to each other with more than a 1000 novels and mangas placed in them. It was like a miniature library and next to it was a door which led to another room. On the right side of the room there were two smaller book shelves with a bunch of gaming CDs in them. To the right of the book shelves there was a black table with three monitors and a keyboard on top of it. Below the table was a gaming pc that looked really expensive and a gaming chair in front of it. And finally in the corner near the table was a kitchen like space, with running tap, cabinets, a microwave and even a mini fridge. There was also another door in the corner
One look and I knew this was heaven. It's what all boys from all age’s dream of having one day
‘a man den’. I could probably live in this room for a year without coming out if I had a proper food source and bathroom. It was that cool and to think that all this was bought using the club budget. Just how much did she get from this school?

At this rate even if she doesn't allow me to join, I'll have to get on my hands and beg if I have too. It's hard to go back to joining a normal club after seeing something like this
“Stop looking around and sit”
I placed my bag on the table and took my seat just opposite to her. She then pulled a bookmark out of the book, placed it on the page she was reading, closed the book and kept it down on the table and looked at me with a slightly angered expression
“You know, I've been waiting for you to show up for quite a while now and even gave a message telling you to come fast”
I pulled the folded paper out of my pocket and showed it to her
“So you were the one who left this note on my head”
“Yeah, who else”
“I thought it was a prank and didn't take it seriously. Why didn't you just wake me up?”
“Your sleeping face was so scary that it looked like you would attack anyone that went near you. So for my safety I put it on your head”
“And why on my head and not my desk?”
“Because it would be funnier that way”
She just loves teasing me doesn't she? Even Kaede did the same thing this morning. Do girls love to play with sleeping men?
“First of all how did you know I would be interested in this club?”
“Hmmm… Instinct I guess”
Looks like she isn't going to tell how she knows me and why she was interested in me in the first place. I'll leave the matter for now
“Then you were also the person who made that poster. So that means, it's quite obvious after seeing this room but your also a-..”
“Yes I'm also an otaku like you. A hardcore one at that”
Again! She knew what my hobbies were without me telling her
“I knew it! The moment I saw that reference from that old anime only a few people watched on the club poster, I knew that whoever wrote it was an otaku”
The only reason I was interested in this club was because I saw that reference on the poster. It was an anime related reference so I thought the club would have something to do with anime and bingo, I hit the jackpot
“I kept the poster there in the lunch period and as expected, you found it, figured out the reference and made your way here and passed the first test”
“Test?”
“You came here with intentions of joining this club right?”
“Well yeah”
“Then you must also know that I have full jurisdiction over it and only I can choose who enters and who doesn't”
“I heard about it a little”
“I've never accepted any members till now but I'm willing to give you an exception and let you join if you can prove your worth by taking my tests. You basically have to do what I say and answer all my questions without any exceptions to show your determination to join this club“
So it's kind of like an interview
”But don't think it will be easy. Since this is a club with high value, the acceptance rate is extremely low. To join you must cross all the hard obstacles I'll give you without any questions asked and if you do and say everything I tell you, you can join this club”
“Wait by the looks of it you made this whole test routine just for me but what if I never saw that poster and decided to join some other club. Where did all your confidence that I would try to join this club come from? What if I'd never seen that poster and joined some other club?”
She took a sip out of her teacup and said
“It's because I know the type of man you are and you would definitely not join any random club but search for a club you were actually interested in, even if it took all day. Eventually you would've noticed the poster while searching for a club and would come here. So I just had to wait for you to come and you came as expected”
She's right about me again. She knew I wouldn't be satisfied with just any club and would want something I was interested in. Just how does she know so much? Can she read minds or something?
“If you knew I would be more interested why didn’t you just invite me yourself”
“Me personally inviting you is out of the question since my pride is too high for that”
So I'm too low level in her eyes
“And I wanted to see you run around the school desperately searching for a club to join, like a wild goose chase since it would be funny”
She's playing with me like a toy for her satisfaction. She's quite the sadist
“So, do you want to take the tests to join the club or are you going to chicken out?”
Leaving the other reason aside I have to join this club no matter what it takes, to find out how she knows so much about me even if I lose some stuff along the way
“Bring it on”
She leaned back on the sofa, crossed her legs to the other side and smiled and said
“Then for the first test….Strip”

Stories Of Indlu
“… to grow, for opportunity, for adventure, to be free. Join the colony ship Nao Vittoria. Be the first to live amongst the stars.” It was obvious from the literature that the NextStar corporation wanted the young, the adventurous and the brilliant. So why were the super rich fighting over seats? Why were AI’s trying to stow away? Did this signify a premature end to human/AI civilisation? Why had some questions directed to NextStar been aggressively sidelined? Why did the colonist inflight entertainment trial produce fatalities? In fact, why colonists at all? Those and many other questions, however, boiled down to a single central question. Why was the world’s most advanced AI dumped with a hundred year babysitting job for 50 million people speeding towards an uninhabitable planet? It made such little sense. The only sure way to get answers, catch a ride on the Nao Vittoria and play the inflight entertainment game, Pax Domini. I joined, and this is my story. Well, I feature. OK, I’m more of a spectator. Actually, I’m completely irrelevant I was just there. I’m only the storyteller. But what a story to tell. --------- Hi All, Content will be published weekly usually Saturday and typical posts will be 25oo to 4ooo words per post. Though for some reason the Royal Road word count does not include the content of tables so some posts may not appear to meet this criteria. Currently I have written sufficient unedited content to keep this schedule for the next 12 months (half way through the first story arc). My current productivity would indicate that I can maintain this schedule for well into the second story arch. This also allows for the additional content that will be posed exclusively on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/StoriesOfIndlu). This additional content follows minor characters, peripheral events, maps and other content that does not take away from the main story. I would love to accelerate the post schedule but to meet this I need the assistance of more beta readers than I currently have. So please let me know if you are interested. - Andy ©2022 Andy Leauter.
