Nyx's POV

"No!" I cried out as I rushed over to her with tears already falling from my eyes. I couldn't believe the sight before me.

Amara was laying on the floor in a pool of blood, her own blood. I fell to my knees beside her and lifted her.

"What happened baby?" I asked, "What happened to you?"

"It's the Beta." She coughed and trickles of blood came out of her mouth, "It was when he kicked me."

I didn't say anything. I quickly rushed to the mattress and laid her on it. I couldn't take her to the pack doctor as we were denied medical access and I couldn't heal her myself.

I smoothed her blonde hair to the side and caressed her face as I watched it get paler, she was getting weaker and she kept coughing the spurts of blood coming from her mouth. I lifted her shirt up and saw that she had a gash like wound on her torso.

How dare he do this to our pup?! Hera growled, I will fucking end him.

Calm down Hera, I said to her, we have got to find a way to get her healed first and I don't know what to do.

Hera went silent for a while and I continued gazing at Amara. She got sick often ever since she shifted at the age of three. The rigorous process of shifting had weakened her a lot and it turned out that she was just a silver wolf like me but unlike her, I hadn't experienced premature shifting.

That's it! Hera said, Tell her to communicate with her wolf to help her heal, I am sure that will work.

Let's try it, I agreed with Hera and moved to sit Amara up.

"Baby..." I said to her leaning her against the wall.

"Yes, Mommy." She smiled weakly at me, "I feel so woozy." She said, "Am I going to die? Am I going to meet grand mama up there?"

"No, baby." I shook my head crying at her words, "You are not going to die, you are going to live for me, you will be okay."

"The Beta's mate said I was going to die." She sniffed.

"No baby, you won't." I took her face in my hands, "I want you to do something for me baby."

"What is it mummy?" She asked and I smiled at her thinking of how smart she was for her age, I knew she could do this.

"I want you to talk to your wolf, Cora." I said to her, "I want you to tell Cora to help you heal."

"Okay mummy but Cora feels tired just like me."

"That is why I want you to try so you wouldn't feel tired anymore."

She nodded and went silent for a while as she talked to her wolf. Soon enough I saw her straining herself meaning she tried to heal. I raised her shirt up looking at the wound and I saw it close up gradually. My face lit up in a smile.

"You did it, you both did it." I shook her face playfully, "Now I want you to cough to see if there is blood." She did it and there was no sign of blood.

"You see..." I hugged her tightly, "You are okay baby."

She nodded at me with a smile, "I am hungry."

My face fell at her words and I looked back to the trampled pancakes on the floor, they were not edible in this state, "Love, I don't think there will be food tonight."

"I understand mummy." She lay down on the bed, "I will go to sleep now..."

"Mummy will get you something to eat tomorrow, okay?"

"Yes." She nodded, "And one day we will live in a big house with plenty of food and maybe I can get a daddy, it will be fine and we will be happy." She giggled exposing her lost tooth gap. She looked so angelic despite the grime covering her face with her roughed up and bloodied clothes.

"Go to sleep child." I placed a kiss on her cheek as she closed her eyes falling into a peaceful slumber.

I laid down next to her hoping to get some sleep too as I crossed my hand over her.

I couldn't sleep that night as I could feel that Hera wasn't settled. She had mixed up emotions of anger and anxiety. I sat up on the bed wanting to talk to her.

What's wrong Hera?

Something is about to happen! She said, I can feel it.

I don't get you...

First off, I am mad at the fact that my pup almost died because of that stupid Beta and secondly I feel anxious for a reason I know not off, I feel like something is about to happen.

Hera, let's go to sleep.

I am thirsty, She said, we need to get water.

I rolled my eyes at her and stood up. I looked over at Amara to ensure that she was sleeping before leaving the basement to go get water.

I threw the bottle of water inside the trashcan and began to exit the kitchen really happy that I have been here without bumping into someone when I felt a hand wrap around my neck, it was the Beta.

"Shouldn't you be asleep?" He whispered in my ear, "Trying to steal something?"

"Please, let me go." I shivered.

"What if I say no?" He laughed, "And kick you to the ground just like I kicked that pup of yours!"

That's it! Hera growled at the mention of Amara, let me at the bastard!

I didn't fight her this time as she took control. Her canines got elongated as her claws came out.

She grabbed a hold of the Beta's hand and twisted it. He yelped in both shock and pain. Hera took the opportunity and pushed him to the floor before pouncing on him and slashing his face with her claws creating bloodied lines.

"You mutt!" He growled releasing his powerful aura and pushing her off him with so much force. We hit the wall and Hera immediately receded giving me back control. I tried scrambling to my feet to run off but he was before me in a flash and grabbed me, "I am taking you to the Alpha." He barked.

"No! Please..." I begged as he dragged me up the stairs and to the Alpha's room.

Alpha Titan was already outside the door and my guess was that the beta had already mind linked him.

"What did she do now?" He rolled his eyes.

"Your useless mate!" He dropped me on the floor before the Alpha, "Did this!" He pointed at his face.

"I am sorry." I whimpered.

"Shut up!" Alpha Titan growled, "Get into the room and strip!"

I stood up and got into the room fiddling with my clothes.

"I will take it from here." I heard him say before he got into the room and closed the door behind him.

"Oh darling." He walked over to me turning me to face him, "You are so in for it!" He said before pouncing on me.

I was bleeding between my legs and everywhere when he got off and grabbed the whip. The cold air blew against my skin and I shivered.

"Oh my dear, are you cold?" He mocked me before hitting me with the whip continuously and as I screamed in pain, he enjoyed it more.

"Please Alpha..." I begged, "Just kill me..." I pleaded with him as the pain was too much. I didn't think I could survive it any longer.

"Kill you and give you an easy end to your suffering? No dear, I wouldn't do that." He laughed as he came to my level on the floor. He yanked one of my folded legs out, "Ugly bitch." He read out what is Beta had written with the knife, "Worthless slut." He laughed as he read the other words on the next leg, "I must say, he did a pretty great job." He stood up.

I swallowed as he watched me with hooded eyes making me wonder what sort of torture he had next.

"Get up and lay on the bed."

I stood up as quick as I could on my weak legs and laid on the bed not wanting to anger him further. I laid there with my face pressed downwards into the sheets. I wailed in tears as I felt a knife on my back.

He was carving out words on my already open wounded back. I didn't know what he was carving. I only cried feeling the pain get more intense. I couldn't even scream, I was too weak.

"I see you aren't screaming in pain." He grumbled, "I guess this doesn't hurt enough." He stabbed the knife into my back and I screamed. He pulled out the knife and repeated the act over and over again.

"Just kill me already!" I yelled out in pain.

"No...i have one more surprise for you."

I heard the door open and someone walked in, I couldn't see who it was till I heard the voice.

"Mummy."

It was Amara.

I was alarmed, I raised my head and looked at her standing in the room clutching fluffy as usual as she stared at me and the man whom she didn't know was her father.

"What are you going to do to her?" I yelled at him, "let her go!" I didn't want him to kill her like he did to my father.

"She is going to join us in the fun." He laughed as he beckoned to her, "Come here."

She stood there watching me as if seeking my permission.

"I said come here you mutt!" He walked over to her angrily and slapped her across the face. She cried out and I had to act fast. I grabbed a syringe containing silver and wolfsbane from the bed shelf, got off the bed and immediately moved to him stabbing him in the neck with it.

"Bitch!" He turned glaring at me knowing what I had done and then he grabbed my neck.

I wasn't going down without a fight, he was already weaker now.

"I will end you this instant!" He backed me up against the wall.

"Leave her alone!" Amara cried as she ran up to us hitting his leg. He kicked her away and turned to face me again, just then I reached out to the bedside lamp, lifted it and smashed it on his head.

Alpha Titan fell to the ground with a thump.

I didn't waste time in grabbing Amara and running out of the room. I limp ran to the basement with her in my arms, I was still naked as I hadn't bothered with grabbing my clothes and the cold air kept kissing my wounds making me hiss in pain.

I kept Amara down as soon as I got there and began packing all our belongings in the sack. There was no time, we needed to get out of here before Alpha Titan awoke.

Someone is finally running away! Hera snickered.

Hera, I do not need your satire right now, we need to leave as soon as possible, can you heal?

No! Way too weak but we can manage with the wounds.

I finished packing our things, put on a simple gown and grabbed Amara.

"Where are we going?" She asked as we crept out of the pack house.

"We are going far away from here baby." I answered her as we continued moving.

We left the house successfully and walked in the thick forest, I knew we were still on the pack grounds. We moved till we got closer and closer to the borders after managing to evade the patrol members.

When we got really close to the borders I dropped Amara and the sack.

I crouched down to her level, looking at her with her teary eyes and her tiny hands clutching fluffy.

"Baby, I need you to do something for me." I told her, "I need you to shift into your Wolf, I want you to let Cora take over."

"Are we running away from this bad place?"

"Yes, baby we are."

"And we will finally be happy in a big house, with food and a daddy."

I nodded at her not wanting to dull her spirits. I didn't know if we were going to get comfort, I didn't know what the world had in store for us but I knew that we had to run.

She dropped fluffy and I helped her in sitting on the floor.

"You need to be focused and let Cora come through okay?"

She nodded and sat there. Soon, I saw her shifting, her tiny claws surfacing with pale silver fur and canines.

She wasn't screaming like the first few times and soon a beautiful pup with silver fur was standing on all fours before me.

"Cora." I smiled at her.

"I did it!" She jumped smiling happily,

"Amara and I did it."

I stood up smiling at her and then it was time for me to do what I ought to do.

"I Nyx Evander, an omega of the Coremoon pack accept your rejection Alpha Titan and I choose to be a rouge from this moment, so be it." And then I felt all connection and ties with them severe.

I shifted into my wolf immediately and let Hera take control. She walked up to the sack, "Pick fluffy Cora." She said as she picked the sack in her mouth.

Cora also did the same with fluffy.

So we are doing this? I asked Hera.

It's about time.

And with that we moved crossing the borders and running into the forest.

We were rouges.

We kept running even though we were tired. I didn't know how far we were from the pack but I knew we had covered a considerable distance away from them.

How come we are so fast? I asked Hera.

I don't know, She said, I feel anxious, first I am faster all of a sudden and I can't keep this other feeling away.

"I am thirsty." Cora said dropping fluffy and we had to stop, "I need water."

"There is a stream not far away from here, I can hear it." Hera said to her, "We would reach there in no time."

We continued journeying till we reached the stream. There, we sat to drink water and rest.

We need to leave here now, what if wild rouges come, we would be in danger.

That's right! Hera agreed with me and she stood up, she called cora and we began the journey again not knowing exactly where we were going just following the moon as it led us.

The night got darker as we ran and we had all began to feel tired. I felt pity on Cora as she wasn't used to this and she was still so young.

We went a little further and spotted a clearing.

We need to spend the night here, Hera said to me, we might collapse if we go any further.

Okay, Cora is so tired.

We dropped our stuff and not caring to shift back into our human form. We fell under a tree as we planned to spend the the night there.

We were about the sleep when we heard rustling of bushes and I could feel Hera's excitement again.

Calm down Hera, I growled.

The rustling got more noisy and she stood up.

There, out of the bushes jumped out six huge looking wolves, they weren't rouges, I knew it. They looked like trained pack warriors and they were extremely huge. They looked at us furiously as they snarled.

What are we going to do? I asked Hera.

I don't know, looks like they are out to kill, She moved backwards trying to shield Cora away from them and Just then Hera caught whiff of something.

An amazing scent.

It filled us up and it smelt heavenly.

It smelt woody, like pinecones with a hint of lavender, I didn't even know what to describe it with. It was simply unique.

Could it be?

A huge black wolf jumped in front of us staging himself between us and the warriors. It was the biggest wolf I had ever seen, it looked majestic as his fur shone under the moonlight.

It turned to us staring at us with those gleaming black eyes and it was like the world stopped for a moment and then Hera said the word that I never expected.
