Lycus's pov

"What's happening?" She shrieked in fear as she braced herself with her hands on the counter. Her face had turned ghost white when she looked down at herself trying to understand what was going on, confusion and terror was written over her features.

Even I was confused, immediately after the strange incident of her freezing the glass of water, I noticed something else as light shone from her. Blinding light emanated from my mate's body which caused me to step back and now, she glowed. Her skin was flawless, every scar I had memorized, every mark, wound and defect, they were all gone. Her skin shone brighter than that of a new born and she had an intimidating aura coming from her which almost forced me into submission.

"Lycus…" She stretched out her other hand reaching out to me but immediately leap of flames came for it which would have burnt me if I hadn't ducked out of the way due to my fast reflexes, "I am so sorry." She cried out as i rushed towards her, tears were streaming down her cheeks now, Please help me, I am so confused, I almost burned you! She mind linked me.

I rushed towards her before she could use her hands again and trapped her in a tight hug with one hand while holding on to her two hands with the other caging them in front of her.

Immediately I touched her, her feelings of fear and confusion which I had felt turned into that of calmness as the sparks travelled between us. She leaned more into me, accepting my warmth as she nuzzled my chest and breathed in my scent to calm down, "Calm down love." I dropped a chaste kiss on her head, "You will be fine, no matter what this is, we are going through it together." She nodded as her cries turned into sobs and soon they vanished. We stayed in that position for a while as I held onto her tightly thinking of what I should do.

We got back to the castle later that evening, immediately I appeared on the castle grounds cradling Nyx in my arms, every wolf in sight bowed towards us as a sign of respect. They knew she was their luna now which filled me with pride plus I could sense that they could feel the strange power surging from within her.

I nodded at them as I walked into the castle while Nyx kept her face hidden in the crook of my arm. As I passed the castle halls and lobbies, the same thing happened, pack members bowing down at the sight of us and paying respects.

"Lycus, Nyx." Willow screeched on sighting us she ran towards us immediately gave her bow before trying to see what was going on, "Is she okay?" She asked worriedly looking at a near vulnerable Nyx in my arms and she did a double take seeing how Nyx had changed.

"Tell the Delta and other high rankers to meet me at my office, including you." I ordered her and she immediately sprang into action.

I walked to my office quickly not wanting to teleport as I enjoyed the respect Nyx got as we passed by people. We reached my office soon and I opened the door immediately and walked inside. Right there, my mother was already waiting and she sprang up sensing our presence, "My dear." She cried softly embracing Nyx as I dropped her, "Congratulations on being officially marked." She kissed Nyx forehead and my mate blushed, "What is this I hear happened?" She led Nyx to the seat in the office and stood before her assessing her.

Nyx sat there looking a bit pale and weak but she still had the glow, the aura which didn't seem to affect my mother which was understandable and her bandaged hands lay limp by her side. I had them bandaged to avoid future disaster.

"I think I know what is happening." My mother smiled and just then Willow and the high rankers came in, "Free her hands Lycus." My mother said and I followed her instructions.

She walked up the Judas, grabbed his hand, pulled him before Nyx and fished out a knife which she slashed Judas with, "What the hell?!" He winced dramatically.

"Touch it." My mother put Judas's hand before Nyx and she looked a bit confused.

"What if I burn him?"

"Just touch it." She ordered again and Nyx did this time. She lifted her her right hand and wrapped it around Judas's wound which healed in an instant. The blood dried, the wound closed and the was no trace of the wound.

We were all amazed, "Wow!" Judas exclaimed shaking his hand before his eyes flexing it, "This is feels better than when I self heal."

We all watched wanting to know what my mother will do next. She walked up to my table and picked pieces of blank paper which she put before Nyx and set on fire with her powers. Instinctively, my mate sprung into action, she moved her hand and spurts of water came forth which she directed at the burning papers dousing the fire soon, the remnants if the burnt paper which were wet turned to chunks of ice.

"Melt the ice." And immediately Nyx's other hand shot forth with fire as it had at the cottage and she melted the ice on the floor leaving behind a wet puddle.

"I think my body is learning how to control them now." Nyx spoke staring down at her hands after numerous practice my mum had put before her, "But I really do not understand what is going on."

"Your mating with Lycus had brought forth your powers." My mother began to explain the situation before us, "First, healing, that's why all your scars and wounds were gone and your skin shines gloriously." She smiled down at Nyx, "Next, fire and water. These are the powers you possess and it means both good news and bad news."

"Why is that?" I asked her.

"The whole kingdom perceives that Nyx is cursed because of the myth of the silver wolf according to the books as we checked that day with the other elders and this is exactly why. These powers, they have a lot of impact depends on how the person who possesses them uses them either for good or evil."

"I never wanted powers." Nyx said dryly, "And now that I have them, I got no intention of using them for evil."

"The elders, top high rankers and other members of the wolves council may not understand that dear." My mother said sadly.

"But you are next to the moon goddess, the leader of the wolves council." Willow stated, "You can do something about it."

"I did the only thing I could, protecting her life while I am always around. I shielded her away from them and stopped their motives but now that her powers are out and the books classify her as cursed, they will definitely stop at nothing to bring her down."

"Plus Akanther needs her for that dumb sacrifice." Judas pronounced through clenched teeth and I sent him a death glare for opening his mouth but it was too late, Nyx had heard what he said.

"What sacrifice?" She asked dumb founded.

"Judas get out!" I growled at him and he immediately excused himself and went through the door.

Why did you order him out? What is he talking about? She asked me through the mind link and I could sense that she was worried.

We will talk about that later love, I reassured her as we all turned to my mother to continue her speech. I didn't want Nyx to know about the vampires, she would be worried and she didn't need that now. It is better to keep her in the dark.

"The least we can do now is keep her powers a secret as I sign her fully under my protection." She continued, "I will train her and we would prove to them that her powers can be used for good alone." She added, "Meanwhile, not a word of this outside, not a word of what happened here should be discussed, anyone who defies me shall die." I saw Nyx wince at her words, "You are dismissed."

They all bowed before us and left the office leaving my mate and I alone with my mother.

"I shall commence training her on her powers till she learns how to control and use them efficiently." She sat next to Nyx on the seat and drew her into a hug as my mate sobbed knowing her life will be at stake again.

I felt her sadness and pain. I felt every emotion that passed through her, "Lycus, she needs you most at this time cause they won't go down without a fight." My mother looked at me as she hugged Nyx, "We must keep the truth about her concealed until after the Trail of Titan and Laya."

"But why?" Nyx sobbed, her shoulders heaving, "There are dozens of cursed creatures out there but they all keep harping about me, I do not intend to cause anyone harm." She cried louder clutching onto my mother's blouse.

"Because my dear." She patted her blonde hair lovingly, running her hand through the silken threads, "No one likes a person more powerful than them, absolutely no one."
