《Alpha Daryl Reeds》Chapter 9

Daryl slammed the front door, slowly making his way into the dining room. Rosemary was standing behind Kelvin. We all watched Daryl, he didn't say anything at first.
"Why," Daryl begins. "Is there an Omega in my living room?"
"Daryl, this is Kelvin's mate." I say before Kelvin can say anything. Daryl sat down at the table and took a sip from the cup in front of him, from here I could tell it was wine.
Daryl's eyes snap up and look at him."Well isn't this beautiful, but I will not have my Beta be mated to a weak person so you choose Kelvin reject her or become an Omega with her."
"What?" I said completely stupidly.
"I'm not leaving my mate Alpha." Kelvin says
"I'm sorry to hear that Kelvin you were a great Beta but now you must leave."
Kelvin nods, grabbing Rosemary's hand they make their way to the front door, the maid who I'd figure out now was Kelvin's mother. She stood watching her son, tears falling down her cheeks.
"Wait! Daryl you can't do this." I snapped at him.
"I just did." He snapped at me clearly annoyed.
I thought for a minute. "If you do this I go with them." I burled out.
Daryl raised an eyebrow. I glared at him, dammit I always wanted to do that. "Why would I allow you to do that?"
"Because I was born an Omega."
I probably should explain, an Omega isn't necessarily born a weak person, at least not to me, but to everyone else they are the weakest links of the pack. Werewolves who are yet to shift or never will be able to. I wasn't really born an Omega but my mother was and when she met my father he made her stronger, strong enough to shift and bare children. I was the first born girl we all knew that once my mother had a girl she'd be weak, which is why my parents never allowed me to be a guard. That and my brothers would never allow another male to hurt me.

Daryl doesn't say anything just stared with wide eyes. I roll mine at him walking towards Rosemary and Kelvin. They watch me too. "What?" I snapped
"Nothing" they mumble and look away. We all waited once again for Daryl to say something. He doesn't say anything at all just goes back to drinking the wine from the cup in front of him. Finally he sighs. "You all heard your Luna," Daryl begins. "Kelvin, and your mate may stand in the village, but you are no longer the Beta of this pack."
"Daryl," I say sweetly, "please don't do this."
"Joyce," Daryl growled. "This isn't your choice, he'll stay in the village but his duties as Beta are over with."
I went to reply but Kelvin cut me off. "It is only fair Luna Joyce," he said taking Rosemary's hand and I could tell that she was pleased with him, he had given up something he loved for her. I knew she would be in good hands, loved, and cared for. Something her parents tried their best to do but couldn't do much with how Daryl ran this place, I wondered why everyone wasn't going behind his back. He treated everyone horrible.
The maid who'd been watching from the corner, her face red and eyes puffy came over to Kelvin. She spoke in english for Rosemary. "You may come live with me son, only until you find a new place to stay."
"Thanks Ma," Kelvin said hugging her.
They whispered for a bit before Daryl got annoyed and kicked them all out telling Elisa the maid not to return. That made me shout at him again but Daryl didn't seem to care, I sighed and played with my food once again not hungry. Daryl watched me, I didn't understand why I couldn't eat anything I love food more than anything but the more I was here the less I ate anything.

"Joyce, you need to eat." Daryl growls at me. I just glare at him getting up from the table and going into the kitchen. I dump the food in the trash. My mother would hit me upside the head for wasting food, at the thought of my mother I felt tears come to my eyes.
I haven't talked to anyone from my family, beside the small visit with Axel since I got here. I didn't even notice how homesick I was. I thought about the mind-link talk I had on the way here how Fred had been hurt and haven't woken yet was he since in a coma? Was he alive? How is Ashley? Once we'd been a happy family now one family member got a monster for a mate and one might not even possibly be alive.
"Joyce!" Daryl barked at me, it was the first time I heard him since being lost in my own thoughts but from the sound of his voice I could tell that this wasn't the first time he called me.
"Yes?" I whispered.
"This needs to stop. You need to start eating." Daryl snaps at me.
"I will when you let me go home!" I scream back at him.
Daryl sighs. "Joyce, this is your home."
Tears gather in my eyes but I don't let them fall, I swallow the lump in my throat. I don't trust myself to speak so I went up the stairs, I go back to once again Daryl's room I couldn't look around without thinking of how Daryl slept here.
Gathering my stuff that Axel brought me I go across the hall. The guess room where Daryl been sleeping since I kicked him out of his room looked just like his room.
Going further down the hall I stopped at a room on the right side. I tried to once the door, it's locked. I hear Daryl coming up the steps so I don't have time to think about what's behind the door. I go to the door on the left side and open the door. It's another guest room.
I shut the door with a snap.
"Joyce!" Daryl calls from down the hall but all I do is go lay down on the bed of my new room.
I make a silent promise to myself. I would go see my family.
I didn't care if Daryl followed if he dragged me back kicking and screaming I would just keep going back. I needed my family.
